Yelp app helps you FIND BACON...or avoid hipsters and yuppies
— Purple Avenger

Of course you could use it to find hipsters too I suppose.

Looking for bacon in San Francisco? Here's the neighborhoods where you'd find it

Curiously, when you look at London and scan for hipsters and yuppies, there doesn't seem to be too many areas where they're intensely concentrated. Austin OTOH, has a blazing hipster and yuppie hotspot.

31 Well we went to the rental place and got two kayaks for the week. Only 65 per week, compared to like 35 bucks a day. Anyway, took them out for a spin into Pamlico Sound. Little choppy, and the kite boarders around us were getting a little too close with their plummeting wings of death, so we moseyed north. Saw a bunch of pelicans, couple sites of washed away buildings. Now it's time for a Sam Adams and then I'm popping my kayak in on the Ocean side. Dolphins spotted from shore this morning at about mid-tide, I'm going to try to time it so I'm out there for the afternoon tide. Might get lucky and see some swimming around me.

speaking of bacon, finally purchased some bacon spread from the Skillet food truck yesterday. It looks disgusting but tastes good, sweet and savory. They have a ton of recipes for using it on their website.

I am slowly getting used to the idea that food trucks are an acceptable place to get food since many high end chefs around here are now doing food trucks instead of restaurants. But, I still am not a fan of the fact that there is no place to sit and you have to wander around to find a place or eat standing up. Call me old fashioned, but I like to sit down at a table inside and get waited on.

Mexican    police chief killed with rifle lost in ATF gun-tracking program

LA Times: http://touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-76571135/

WASHINGTON—A high-powered rifle lost in the ATF’s Fast and Furious controversy was used to kill a Mexican police chief in the state of Jalisco earlier this year, according to internal Department of Justice records, suggesting that weapons from the failed gun-tracking operation have now made it into the hands of violent drug cartels deep inside Mexico.

Luis Lucio Rosales Astorga, the police chief in the city of Hostotipaquillo, was shot to death Jan. 29 when gunmen intercepted his patrol car and opened fire. Also killed was one of his bodyguards. His wife and a second bodyguard were wounded.

Local authorities said eight suspects in their 20s and 30s were arrested after police seized them nearby with a cache of weapons — rifles, grenades, handguns, helmets, bulletproof vests, uniforms and special communications equipment. The area is a hot zone for rival drug gangs, with members of three cartels fighting over turf in the region.

A semi-automatic WASR rifle, the firearm that killed the chief, was traced back to the Lone Wolf Trading Company, a gun store in Glendale, Ariz. The notation on the Department of Justice trace records said the WASR was used in a “HOMICIDE – WILLFUL – KILL –PUB OFF –GUN” –ATF code for “Homicide, Willful Killing of a Public Official, Gun.”..
