Another Friday night in the brave year of 2021, and once again America finds itself dealing with issues the founding fathers could never have conceived of*

*I actually believe this, they would never in their wildest nightmares have envisioned how their elegant, simple and wonderful blueprint for a country could be so corrupted.

That's not exactly true. It was made to some of the most exacting standards, but it had to be, because the quality of Japanese iron left a lot to be desired. The level of craft that went into the best quality blades was phenomenal, and its relatively static form lead to a very well developed martial art for its use, but it wasn't objectively a better weapon.
Against European arms and armor, you'd have a lot of broken blades - particularly among the cheaper ones that retained more impurities - and against knights who had also been training with their equipment since they were old enough to hold a sword, it's doubtful that there would have been a significant difference in skill.

One wonders why the bad guys would continue to waste ammo on Superman and Wonder Woman. After the first few rounds bounced off, you'd think they'd get a clue.
In the old black and white Superman TV show, Superman would stand there and take all of the shots fired at him from the bad guys' guns. When their guns ran out of bullets, the bad guys would throw their guns at Superman, and Superman would dodge the thrown guns.

Hadrian, I don't think the NRA is even in the same league for fundraising as the SPLC or AARP. Seems the AARP sells, or puts their name on to sell, a lot of products and generate a lot of cash for them. The SPLC is getting stuff like $10 million from Jeff "my buddies are CCP" Bezos and a lot of Hollywood.
Besides the NRA spends all their funds on $3,000 suits and high-priced living and travel expenses. Not a whole lot on lobbying.

Duncanthrax.. no, sir. That's for sure the 750. The 350/four had a different tank execution, and the cylinders/head/fins were more petite than the proportions shown here. 750 all the way.
The CB-360, conversely, was a vertical twin, vs.t he 350/four's (duh) inline four cylinder mill. The 350/four would outrun the 360 twin, every day of the week. However, the 360 twin was more durable, lighter and a better "beginner's" bike, not being the temperamental RPM throttle queen that was the 350/four.
Best of both worlds? The DOHC 450 vertical twin. A very well balanced package of power, weight and brakes. But the factory springs and shocks were shit, and needed replacing as a first order of business. Which still didn't kill the hand-numbing vibration through the bars. About 70 miles was all I could tolerate on one. But, fun for a shorter ride, it was!

They understood the ways of gov't and men and their inclinations.
I believe they'd actually be surprised we made it this far without an actual rupture. I think we could weather this storm also if the media could be brought to heel so that information was delivered and not propaganda or balancing news outlets were put into effect.
They would be dismayed that the public is as ignorant as it appears. But given that they would not be surprised that that has led to where we are today.
And that it's the Party of Democrats that have led us here also would be no surprise to most of them.
They would probably regret the word salad that they used for the 2nd Amendment. 200 years can change the language and should have been simpler with fewer assumptions of meaning. They used some rarified language that was common in the circles that they traveled but not the common folks. Altho they understood it.

Cicero, ^5 to a fellow, former Buena Park, CA resident. I was out in San Diego, from Monday to yesterday, and in Whittier on Tuesday. The Bultaco Pursang was an early contender in the "made for purpose" motocross bikes. The previous generation was mostly stripped-down British iron, such as big AJS or BSA singles and such.
Zeatti. My first "owned" bike ever, was a Hodaka Ace 100. Similarly stripped of street hardware, it made a fun dirt bike, even if it wasn't a particularly outstanding dirt bike. Fun though, muchly!
Kbdabear.. thanks for the info, sir. Sure seems there's a 'net opening for a properly run photo hosting site, dedicated to NOT fall into leftist insanity. But I'd not have the first damn clue as to how to go about raising the zillion dollars needed to build one.

This will be just enough of a threat to get Roberts to crack the whip and get the constitutionalists in line.

63I don't understand the katana joke but still LOL. It's generally assumed to be the finest sword ever made, and I sure as hell wouldn't want to oppose it with a gladius. I suppose a halberd offers some distance and a pointy bit, but it's really just a sissy Swiss affectation. The artist apparently feels differently.
Posted by:pepat April 09, 2021 10:26 PM (v16oJ
From what I've seen and heard, the Katana is a good sword. It's a great cutting sword. But it is not the ultimate sword that is the most amazing sword ever. Also, it's a sword. And for much of military history the sword is your sidearm. It is the pistol to your rifle. And I think that's what the cartoon is getting at. The halberd and spears are going to be a better military weapon. Even the samurai utilized them as their main weapon.
As for the gladius, yeah I wouldn't want to oppose a Katana with one either. Its a pretty short sword, and you have more reach with a Katana. That's something he probably does get wrong. But you're not typically fighting with a gladius alone. You also get that massive Roman shield to go with the gladius, which is what made it formidable.

Cicero...yep, and thanks for reminding me of that. If your teacher was Ms. Clark, who drove a yellow Camaro R/S convertible with a black top, then we have our answer. Plus, my 5th grade "classroom" was actually the backstage area behind the auditorium's curtain, with the more solid accordioned folding panels behind *it*, kept in the closed position while the backstage was in "classroom" mode. Though I didn't include the Orange County Years in my tour of re-visitage, being up in Whittier to visit my late Mom's resting site, did bring back a flood of details, it seems.

I only ever had harleys for street bikes, but I did have a '73 triumph 650. It was too cheap to pass up, and I figured it was light enough for Mrs B to help toss it in the truck when we used to go to Maine every year. i started doing sturgis that year, so the whole maine thing went out the window, and so did the triumph. It was a fun bike though.

I gotta say it was my experience that Chinese women were more practical than others about money. Whereas Japanese women were inclined to desire an emotional connection of some sort. Korean women were more down to earth and fun.
Now, that was "ladies of the night" so that's maybe a special category. Believe it or not I have limited experience with American or English speaking ladies of the night. Like zero.
Overseas it was like we had permission of a sort and it didn't have the same moral negativity. But that's probably me and my upbringing.
Anyway. If given a choice I would select an Asian woman over most others and Korean at the top of that. YMMV

They reason that it's almost impossible to find an example that's come down thru the ages even just mostly intact and they believe that's because it was such a useful tool that it was kept and used till it was used up.
A falchion is a single edged short sword (under 30") with at most an edge on the back of maybe 6" or so for making stabbing easier and a back slash more deadly.
Some cutlasses would be a similar form but the falchion has a wider blade and is a uniform width except near the point.

Cicero... when I was at Gilbert, my brother was at McComber, for his 7th grade. Which is where he "discovered" pot, and never changed course after that.
So, now at age 65, he's in Minnesota, in trial all this week and likely next, for six new felony charges atop his already nearly 20 page rap sheet of a lifetime of felonies past.
Being the Little Brother, I followed his path there for a bit, till I was 17. And I won't say that "I found Christ". "Found?" Nah. It was an introduction, from a friend. Instantly changed my path for the better, and well, and now I'm here with y'all. And my brother has never forgiven me my diverging from his path. Worst thing I've ever been written up for is a speeding ticket.

NY Post - A few weeks ago, Ashwin Deshmukh saw something he hadn’t in over a year:
"Uhhhh it’s happening. Host is escorting a couple out of a soho restaurant for bathroom shenanigans. They met outside an hour ago,†he tweeted. Twitter had one response: New York is back.
The bathroom hookup is just the start of a wave of debauchery that’s about to hit the city. "People are just ready to go,†Deshmukh, a partner at hot spots Short Stories and Williamsburg Pizza, told The Post. Right now, there is an "infinite demand†for partying, he said.
Some have dubbed it "slutty summer†or "the whoring ’20s.†Others have proclaimed that we’re in for a "Shot Girl Summer,†inspired by the viral Megan Thee Stallion song "Hot Girl Summer.†No matter what you call it, 1967’s Summer of Love isn’t going to have anything on 2021. With all New Yorkers over 16 eligible to be vaccinated and bars and restaurants opening, city dwellers have one thing planned for this summer: getting it on.
"This summer is about having lots of sex,†Serena Kerrigan, who runs the Instagram dating show "Let’s F – – king Date,†told The Post. "Everyone’s getting vaccinated, everyone’s horny, everyone’s sick of virtual [dating].â€

Excellent understanding of social media today, and why those biggies want to all march goosestep, er, lockstep in thought.
And how to beat the current status of control.
One thing the Free People's media platforms need is infrastructure that won't be pulled out from under them any time they publish any words or concepts that are controversial. Like what AWS did to Parler, what Google did to PragerU and Steven Crowder and Twitter did to Trump.
Mike Lindell has said he is hiring top technical people and spending money to buy servers, routers, etc., to create a new infrastructure for not just conservative sites, but any open and free-speech site. He said a few weeks ago that he designed it for one Billion users. This could be a turning point in the Twitter/FB/Google Borg cabal censorship and propaganda strategy currently used.
IDK if this is related to a rumored Trump social platform. It could be, Lindell has no problem taking on the Dominion Voting lawsuit they so foolishly filed against him. Discovery will be a complete bitch for them.

To the benefit of us all.
Put it to you this way. I'll be sending my email, if even only for my lone, individual account. But we're talking "shut up and take my money" levels of engagement, here.
Lindell is as committed as Ace, but in a distinct dimension. This is where we DO violate the Prime Directive. Ace and Lindell must meet, and soon.

The Founders' vision of limited government and their blueprint (the US Constitution) to fulfill that vision were so successful that America became an Ultra Success unlike anything human history had ever seen before.
This success has made American government so powerful that it is not overpowering the original blueprint.
It's damn awful but true.

That should have read: "now overpowering the original blueprint (which is the US Constitution).

Any "750' was exotica till I was well into the last year of my one USAF enlistment. The GL-1000 Honda was like unto a Bentley to me, then.
My Suzuki Titan 500 twin, sufficed there for a year or two. Solid in virtues, mild in vices. But it had many vices. It was never not fun though. Just keep in mind the Rotary Shift, and all would be well.

Surprising to hear that about a honda. The harley springer softail is pretty notorious for steering head bearings. The bearings on the non springer bikes practically last forever, but the springer is rough. I had changed them for people with only 10K on the bike. My own went 20K, but they were detenting soooo bad that if you raised the wheel and punched the side of the wheel it would move maybe 20 degrees and snap back to straight on its own. I had just gotten the bike and the first ride it steered like a cow. lol

Been on the pointy end of the spear and got no desire to do it again--BUT this is my country. I can't run with the young ones any more, but I can damn well shoot as straight as ever--better, even--all that practice hasn't been wasted.
And if things go pear shaped and I don't survive, well, dying in faithful service to your country is a legacy a man can be proud of.

Slapweasel is a Prophet WITH HONOR in his own land. Which is not wherever he lives with his sadly, deteriorating parents.
No, his Own Land is right here in these pixels. We know it, he knows it, and he knows that we Love him. And Honor him, too.

Prayers up from here for Slap and his folks. He's doing a tremendous job.

First time in the tent in a (thankfully) mild rainstorm after a long spell without them. The rainfly needs to spend some time with some sealer. Luckily, the day promises no rain and sun, so I may be able to sneak that visit in before nightfall this coming evening.
Still and all, this weekend is a nice contrast to four weeks ago. Then, overnight temperatures were in the upper 20s, now, they're in the upper 40s.

I was always fascinated by them. Tinkered with dirt bikes as a kid. Worked on my first harley at 16. Never really wanted a street bike though, but by the time I was 21 I got tired of helping friends with theirs and seeing them drive off. I'm mostly a car dude, but I hate working on cars. lol

Went to bed exhausted from yard work, hanging two ceiling fans and finishing the outdoor low voltage lighting in the back yard.
Went to bed at 2100. At 0315 my eyes popped open, and my brain said 'Time to get up'.
It lied to me.
But the coffee is good.

An after winning our freedom, the very first two things that our leaders did was recognize our God given rights to say that the King is a fink.
And to bear arms, in order to overthrow our very own government, if it fails to operate as intended.
No other form of government in history has ever consolidated its power by ensuring that it would remain subservient to its people.

Exactly this. The story of the one lady who got the vaccine and is now sterile (and especially the way they treated even in the piece 'she is experiencing the side effect of life long sterility') and it makes you wanting to look up bulk purchases of tin foil (and ammo.)

Exactly. You have no Rights but what we choose to give you. We WANT you to kill your child. We want you to take this untested vaccine.
We should have always realized that the left was never interested in ANY Freedom. It is not like they suddenly became fierce libertarians on this one issue (abortion.) It just fits their desires, ergo it is ok no matter what.

You know that one of the accusations against Gates Foundation is that in Kenya (IIRC), their testing of a memnengitis vaccine, where they specifically targeted young women, they reported being sterilized? And that Gates has said he's interested in vaccines to control overpopulation (which makes no sense -- those two concepts togethr, unless, you know, the Kenya thing wasn;t an 'oopsi'). . .
