Flatbush, curious about that myself. At that time I was actually in a job where the cable traffic on the Budapest thing would have been in my reading pile, but not near the top.
Meanwhile, ripped hot off the internet wires of ITAR-TASS:
"In plenary session the Ukrainian Supreme Rada adopted an appeal to the member-signatory states of the Budapest with a request to guarantee the security of the country, in connection with recent events in the Crimea. Deputies also appealed to Moscow to cease activities threatening the territorial integrity of Ukraine. In the same session parliament adopted a law on revocation of privileges for deputies of the Supreme Rada."

If Putin is in a 'reclaiming old territories' mode...then Alaska would likely be his first target.
Barky already gave him a piece of it; ...those 7 Alaska islands.
And Putin claimed the North Pole as Russian territory, back in 2007.

How I'm understanding the Budapest Memorandum is that it was how they got Ukraine to sign on to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

88"51 I just want to know what legal standing the Budapest Memorandum has. I know they aren't in Nato.
US and Japan have a mutual defense agreement, right? America is, I believe, treaty bound to defend Japan if China attacked it.
We also have a mutual defense pact with Australia, right? Not sure who else.
Just wondering if there are these things below a treaty that Presidents go around signing saying, yeah, sure, we'll help defend you -- but which have no real weight.
Did Clinton sign such a thing, but Ukraine didn't realize it wasn't a real treaty and so had no legal weight in the US system?

Treaties are only as good as the government that is backing them. After the US Congress screwed the South Vietnamese in 1975, by not providing promised defense aid, people doubted the word of the US for a decade. It took a Reagan to change their minds.
After Barack, no one will trust the US

In the podcast...Jim Lakely mentions the affects that the Solar System has on our climate...
Thank you.
Yes, it's been noted by some scientists that the other planets in our solar system have been experiencing their own 'global warming'.
It's primarily from the Sun.
And they figure that it is a cyclical phenomenon that's been going on for eons, as our solar system moves through solar cycles and also moves through the galaxy.
But the 'global warming' fanatics don't want to acknowledge that...or even hear about it.
