BCS Thread
— andy

Not sure where my erstwhile podcasting partner Dave in Texas is, but here's some cheerleaderage for you.

I'm a Dawg, and as much as it pains me to say this, "War Eagle!" (one night only - for the conference stats and to make that last-minute, heartbreaking loss to you guys sting a little less) NDH's counter-post

Florida State Seminoles and the Auburn... somethings. (Just kidding!) The Auburn Tigers, of course.

Good luck, and shake hands when it's all over.

19 Brent Musburger likes to play "Spot the Hottie... and Then Say Something Embarrassing." Can't say I blame him because usually, when a guy actually spots a hottie, his much bigger brain goes numb. It's science.

(one night only - for the conference stats and to make that last-minute, heartbreaking loss to you guys sting a little less) Ya'lls loss to Auburn was a real ballbuster, no doubt about it. I'm rooting for the SEC champ myself despite being an LSU man, even though we handed AU their only loss (plaese don't make me re-live the ballbuster your Dogs gave us). Damn, I hate Les Miles sometimes ... how the hell can we thump Auburn but then lose to Ole Miss? Oh well, that's SEC football for ya.

50 Auburn's looking better than I expected.

They're very fast for an SEC team.  It will take at least a year for the rest of the Conference to adjust, but adjust they will.  The triple option was unstoppable for one year, and rendered fairly moot in 3.

Texans should sign Tebow and draft Manziel.  Platoon them.  Let them call the plays like  sandlot football with bottle caps, rocks, marbles, etc, drawn in the astroturf.

No offensive "system."    Head coach and offensive coordinator can have  laminated  pizza menus printed to hold and refer to on those sideline shots.

Reliant Stadium  will be filled to capacity to see these guys  play their hearts out.

The NFL will  be a smidgen less boring  to watch.

My team has a good chance of going and I cannot believe the luck we'll have of dealing with ANOTHER totally asinine decision of the Goodell era. 263 Two points. Neither related to football, sorry. Both related to the fact that I just finally listened to the podcast.

(1) If I were Ace, standing fuzzily on the heap of skulls that constituted my massive empire, I would definitely show up for a Nick Searcy podcast.

(2) The AOS remnant that showed up, Andy and Dave...you two have the absolute best voices in the AOS coblogger subempire, or at least among the ones that have showed up for the podcast. You are both very pleasing to listen to. And I mean that in a completely non-ghey way.

It was a great podcast. Once the kowtowing was past, you really brought out the best in Searcy, and in your selves. Congrats and thanks.

Not saying that.  From casual observation of  about 1 game apiece, and reading comments here I'd guess that  Manziel is the better passer and Tebow has the size and legs for running / blocking.

281 In the NFL it sure seems that there are a lot of teams that need a jolt. I don't have any reason the love or hate on Tebow but it seems that when he has been given a chance (Denver) he won. I can't believe that the Jets (!) didn't give him a real shot. He HAS won at every level that he was given a chance. Apparently his teammates loved to play for him. Oh, and GO NDSU! Closest game of the playoffs (like a real chanpionship is determined) was 21 points when the pulled most of the starters at the start of the 4th quarter.

Factual.  Cobb has a great sense of humor.

Following the fight (held at the Houston Astrodome btw), Cobb  was asked   if  he would consider a rematch, to which he replied that he did not think that Holmes would agree, as Holmes' "hands could not take it."

He was then  asked how he could fight someone whose arms were a foot longer than his were, to which he replied, "Oh, it seemed that way to you too?".
