Boehner Mocks Republican Congressmen on Immigration Reform
— Ace

Ah, so. Yes.

MADISON TOWNSHIP House Speaker John Boehner theatrically mocked his fellow Republican Congressmen for being afraid to reform immigration policy when he spoke Thursday before the Middletown Rotary Club in his home district.

"Here's the attitude. Ohhhh. Don't make me do this. Ohhhh. This is too hard," Boehner whined before a luncheon crowd at Brown's Run County Club in Madison Township.

"We get elected to make choices. We get elected to solve problems and it's remarkable to me how many of my colleagues just don't want to ... They'll take the path of least resistance."

Boehner said he's been working for 16 or 17 months trying to push Congress to deal with immigration reform.

"I've had every brick and bat and arrow shot at me over this issue just because I wanted to deal with it. I didn't say it was going to be easy," he said.

There is a line that separates one species from another. Inside that line, you're part of the same species. Different variety, sure, but same species.

Outside of it, and you're a different species and can't interbreed.

I think in politics we might say that that line which divides one political species from another is disparagement.

Disagreement makes you another variety of the same species. But sneering dismissal? That puts you in the category of a different species.

This is especially a problem as politicians, well, evolve as they say (continuing my taxonomic/biological analogy), to the left, because the Left is really quite terribly good at labeling people to the right as being beneath contempt and beyond the parameters of polite debate.

Thus, as someone takes more leftward positions, he hears the applause from the Leftist Chattering Classes, and begins to play to the home crowd, and that home crowd is now more and more made up of leftist agitators and other members of the media, and begins to hate his opponents, and evolves even faster.

The end point of this evolution is of course John McCain.

Do that 30 million times and the Republicans will have 11,400,000 new voters in teh next election!!!!111!!!!1!eleventy!1!!!! WOOO HOOO Whereas Democrats will only have 18,600,000 new voters. 28 I'll share this here since it's basically on topic. A couple of days ago I saw on Twitter people acting surprised and amused that the DNC is considering holding their convention in Salt Lake. This is NOT a surprise as the LDS church has been pushing amnesty even harder than the Catholic church. They want all those immigrants. I'll leave you to figure out why. It's so bad here that a couple of days ago I was at a community awards event in deep red Utah County one of the awardees was a board member of La Raza Utah (and a Democrat party operative). The "severe conservatives" here are profoundly naive and stupid when it comes to immigration. It'd be laughable if I wasn't so pissed off about it.

Then we should give Amnesty to people who break other Laws, too.

Why should Illegal Immigrants be the only ones who say "Fuck You" to our laws and get amnesty?

I'm sure there are a few laws that otherwise law-abiding Citizens would like to break...and then get Amnesty for, as well.

NO!  Democrats create or exacerbate problems, in order to get elected, then to transfer other peoples money to their voting base to solve the crisis of the day.

The opposition to the Democrats should get elected to protect my natural and enumerated rights from the domestic fascists and foreign threats - then go home.

The Speaker nicely sums up why I'm not sure if the Republicans are the opposition to the Democrats.

There's a further psychological quirk in McQueeg which the left, and their auxiliaries in the media, figured out really early on. That lets them play him like a fiddle to their own advantage.

It's that he has being a "maverick" as absolutely central to his self-image. For whatever reason. His face lights up when he hears the description used.

And, when he takes stances of which the left approve, the press dial it up to eleven with the "maverick" nonsense. Like jolting the pleasure center of the brain of a wired-up chimpanzee in a lab.

Well, bluntly, they're not. It's "Permanent Bipartisan Fusion Party" all the way down.

Last weekend I damaged one of the walls in the house by beating my head against it. Lamar Alexander gave the official GOP response to Obama's weekly radio piece.

What Lamar said was that they want the Republicans to be "the iPhone party", and invited us to imagine a world in which the likes of the IRS, the FDA, and the Labor Department "enable" us to accomplish things.

No. NO. NO!!!! FUCK NO!!! WHAT PART OF "FUCK NO" DID YOU FAIL TO UNDERSTAND? DO YOU NEED ME TO DIAGRAM THE SENTENCE FOR YOU?

I don't want the alphabet soup agencies "enabling" me. I want to dis-enable them. Dis-assemble them. Dis-integrate them. Permanently.

Absolute utter incomprehension on this from the establishment GOP. Not a word from outside penetrates their cozy little bubble.

I think it's funny how many people on the site complain about how they don't "do" tinyurl.

1. Navigate to tinyurl.com
2. Paste the url you want to "make tiny"
3. Press the button
4. Copy the text

That's it! Yet so many people can't do it. It's madness!

Why bother? You just post the link and there it is. I like it better when people post the whole link, so I can see where I am going. Tinyurl hides the destination.

191 Oh, and here's the sequel to Lamar Alexander's ridiculous bit about how Republicans want for the IRS and FDA to "enable" our lives:

I said instantly as soon as I heard it, "This sounds just like the stupid crap that Gingrich spews out."

(That's Newt 'FDR was the greatest President of the 20th Century' Gingrich to you and me.)

The basic premise of Newtism is that Big Government can deliver amazing shit to us. Like, um, moon colonies! All we have to do is put sooper geniuses in charge of the Big Government. Sooper geniuses like, well, Newt.

Guess what? Lamar ripped off that entire rhetorical premise from... Newt's new book about government. The turd doesn't fall far from the asshole.

And so where did Newt in turn rip off that concept from? Tech twit Tim O'Reilly.

That would be Tim "I hope you'll all join me in enthusiastically voting for our earthly saviour Barack Obama" O'Reilly. That one.

So this is what the establishment GOP are down to. Ripping off shitty techno-utopian ideas from gray-ponytailed Obama fanbois, and then ripping off each other for those stale ideas.

Wow, I can't tell you how excited I will be to vote Republican this fall. That is, I literally can't tell you that, because I'm not excited at all. This is becoming a weary duty, nothing more.

It is not possible that Leftists are the type of people who believe their ends, whatever they happen to be at the moment, justify any means.  Wow.  That would mean Leftists have a belief in their own superiority.  Who would see them as that?

It is just not possible that any Leftist dedicated himself to undermining his opponents.  Why would he do that?

And the fact that non-Leftists have never, ever, tried to pretend they naturally belonged where they in good conscious did not belong?  Just proves how stupid they are.

Abject stupidity, or abject cupidity.

268 Well, I just stormed back into the house after a brief visit to our nice - quite nice, actually, neighborhood park here in central Texas. After lazing for a while in the grass after a long hard day of working in one of our fabulously outdated factories, I realized that of the ten people in the park, only my child and I were Americans. The rest? Chinese. Not, oh, the American sons and daughters of hard werkin', patriotic immigrant forbearers, but Chinese in every aspect of the word. Two older, and two couples with kids. the kids spoke Chinese. The couples spoke Chinese. The old folks spoke Chinese. Why are they here? WTF? Years ago during the clean-up after Desert Storm, I encountered at least one Saudi who was sullenly indignant at my - our - presence in his country. For years, I thought about that guy and thought he was quite the ingrate. Yet today, I fully understand his indignation. I also have very clear memories of just how deeply many of the Koreans I encountered during several tours in that country fiercely resented our presence. Racism? Of course, at least by contemporary standards. I understand how they felt. Folks, we are Squanto et al watching the irresistible tide wash up on our shores. The Chamber Pot of Commerce sees us as a vacant lot waiting to be scraped clean, have some cheesy houses slapped up by EXCLUSIVELY MEXICAN work gangs (there's some diversity, yeah?) and snapped up by wealthy Indian and Chinese doctors, engineers, etc. that we don't need. And the Republican Party is more than fine with that. At least the type of Republican who has his house cleaned by illegals, his yard manicured by illegals, his crappy holding-company-owned cash-cow pay 'em low enough to keep 'em workin' that overtime and God forbid we should update ourselves from 1972 to be competitive in a global economy factories run illegals. Yeah, that's MY type of Republican. Boehner, Cantor, etc. are trash. Worse than trash. Smug jerk offs is more accurate. Let it burn.

271 If the MSM won't go after Hilary and Obama about Benghazi , conservatives should go after Boehner for his complicity, It seems more and more likely that he was briefed on the al Queda rat line to Syria .

273 I will vote for Amnesty as soon as we agree that every incumbent US Congressman and Senator gives up his/her current job to a "migrant worker".

274 The best part of Boehner's comments is that, if you ask him about, you know... *enforcement* of immigration laws, deporting illegal aliens and more, what does he say? "Ohhhh. Don't make me do this. Ohhhh. This is too hard."

277 Republicans can be seen as better than Democrats, but sadly, they are not better enough. After a GOP president leaves office, nothing is really better. Democrat infernal devices are still there, chugging along, bringing doom, The GOP fuckers - Presidents, Senators, whatever, are worse than the Democrats in one very critical way: the illusion of hope. The GOP offers more of the same sold as relief from the same; a treatment, an antidote, a trusty pain reliever. It's a sick joke they are playing on us.

278 BIDEN: "Mark my words, within the next — first six months of this administration, if we win, they’re going to — we’re going to face a major international challenge, ’cause they’re going to want to test him, just like they did John Kennedy, they’re going to want to test him, and they’re going to find out this guy’s got steel in his spine."

I'm told that it's a NR-40

279 Hey shithead (Boehner), the easy default position is to grant amnesty, not to enforce actual immigration law.

The appropriate response to Boehner should be to mock him for being part of Congress for 20 some years or thereabouts while the borders and our laws were not enforced.

And Boehner should be pleading with us to give him [and his Congess critter colleagues]  amnesty so we don't prosecute him for not upholding our laws and violating his oath of office.

That is how we should turn the tables on him.

282 Boehner can't sneer? Just point out where you've complained about people sneering about HIM. Who knows a district from which he's been elected to Congress 12 times, or outside commentators? He is campaigning for reelection and presumably isn't going to do that going AGAINST the will of his district, is he? You can mock Clooney for throwing a hissy fit, but perhaps not right after one of your own.

283 I don't have time to read through all of the comments, but to all of you who are saying-and there might be a few of you- that regardless of this shit sandwich Boehner et al are intent on feeding us, we simply MUST act likes adults and vote for the GOP, please feel free to go fuck yourselves. This fall should be a political tsunami that crushes the Democrats. And the GOP is bound and determined to not only screw it up, but to also guarantee that I will never, ever vote Republican again as long as I live. My guess is that I'm not the only one who feels that way. http://tinyurl.com/n8qhq7n

287 What's so goddamned hard about this?
1. Cut the spending
2. Stop amnesty
3. Repeal Obamacare.

"Here's the attitude. Ohhhh. Don't make me do this. Ohhhh. This is too hard,"

Quit cryin' John and get back to stopping amnesty, cutting spending and repealing O-care... oh, and it looks like you want to be 0 for 3 on that .
