UPDATE: I lied, there's another bowl game in 15 minutes or so.. the FCS Championship. Towson and North Dakota State. Don't ask me what FCS is, I have no idea. Or Towson. I know what North Dakota is.

By the way, I don't care much about college ball, because it's just minor league NFL as far as I'm concerned, so I don't get too worked up about it, but it looks like my home state finally did something meaningful in a Bowl game yesterday, so it's worth noting.

Last time Missouri had a meaningful Bowl win was probably before I was born... which might or might not have something to do with the with fact that I really don't care about college football.

I like FCS a lot....the skill of the coaches matching offense/defense to personnel has a pretty big impact.....

got to watch a lot of Northwestern State when we were at Ft Polk and I have always carried a torch for Sam Houston State at that level....

I look back at most of the time I spent in the state with a lot of positivity. The passion for college football is unmatched. The rivalry between Auburn and Alabama is as intense as portrayed, but for most people that can function in society, people on both sides know to walk right up to the line, and don't cross it.

For Alabama in particular, almost anyone with any kind of association to the university handles themselves pretty well. They don't deserve the stereotypes these incidents bring upon them. The problem is there is a massive amount of people that never went to the school, never went to a game, may or may not have even graduated from HS....that attach a totally unhealthy amount of their self worth to Alabama's record of success in football, and they act like total assholes.

The first people to acknowledge this, and the people that hate them the most, are usually the large number of decent Alabama fans.
