135 Nice job CBS. Player gets hurt, and you immediately cut to commercial. You then return from commercial right before next play. Still no replay. I know there are limited opportunities for commercials during football games, but cutting out a replay that lets viewers just how a player was injured, or even where on the body the injury occurred, is not the way to go. "He walked off on his own" is not enough.

Anomaly.

Posted by: tangonine at January 19, 2014 12:06 PM (x3YFz)

189 I think Peyton uses Omaha because something happened there during a college game.  I don't know that but there was an interview with both QB's centers and one of them was talking about how each game taught lessons and they would talk about "that thing that happened in blah" and how blah changed Peyton's bag of tricks.  I think Omaha used to mean flip the receiver routes or something and he just kept it into the pros because he likes it.  I'm kind of pulling that out of my ass though based on reading that article.

Decades of R&D and lab tests have been done on laser weapons, but no real world deployments. And, of course, the Left said for decades laser defenses were physically impossible. Rafael is building the Iron Beam as a compliment to their Iron Dome missile/rocket defense system. The Iron Dome was also the first defense system of it's kind ever deployed. "So, right now the ABL would have to orbit inside the borders of Iran in order to be able to try and use its laser to shoot down that missile in the boost phase. And if you were to operationalize this you would be looking at 10 to 20 747s, at a billion and a half dollars apiece, and $100 million a year to operate. 325 ABL was a megawatt class chemical laser. Iron Beam is, most likely, a tens-of-kilowatts class solid state laser. (Details have yet to be revealed but that's what similar US, UK, and German systems in R&D are.) Totally different tech for totally different missions. And not many years ago those systems were stuck in R&D, unable to generate enough power to be useful, and many were saying the funding should be cut cause it's a terrible idea that will never work. But, fairly recently, key advances were made in increasing the power and improving the beam control. People used to say a laser weapon had to be, at a minimum, 100kw to do anything militarily useful. This turned out to be wrong as improved beam control allowed lower-powered lasers (40-50kw) to do useful work.

People used to say a laser weapon had to be, at a minimum, 100kw to do anything militarily useful. This turned out to be wrong as improved beam control allowed lower-powered lasers (40-50kw) to do useful work.

It's not a question of power, but focus (collimation).

Ant, meet magnifying glass kinda thing.  Or as you call it:  beam control.

467 so now it is time for the hawks to win, and then for peyton to get sacked approximately 38 times in the super bowl

468 Hmmpf, I could have done that. *** He probably would have done as well at it as at least a few in the league.

469 Congratulations Broncos. That was a very well played game. Give it up for the defense. Their best game of the season. No ref calls or freak plays deciding the game, just a straight up win.

470 John Fox and Belicheck needed to get a room - big hug! *** I'm not expecting that after the next game.

475 So now that Denver's in can we move the Super Bowl to San Diego or Arizona.

476 The hug is because of Fox's illness.

Nice, until Fox cuts to Pam Oliver on the sidelines

479 So who will Giselle blame for this loss?

485 Brady was off all day. Never seemed to adjust to the elevation and the way the ball tends to take off when thrown hard. The Pats defense didn't play too well either.

494 When I'm actively rooting for Tom Brady, it must mean I hate the other guy with the passion of a 10,000 flaming suns. Now I am praying for the Donks to be humiliated in two weeks. 1. I hate Denver 2. I hate Manning 3. I hate ESPN talking heads

496 Wilson did play pro, in the minors. About 90 games total as far as I can tell.
