Sorry to interrupt your Easter like this folks.

There was a power outage at our hosting company.  They switched over to generator power, but then one of the generators had a problem and now they have to check their electrical systems before they can bring things back online.

I had this site already built for testing so I'm pointing over to it until we can get the main site back online.


Update: I have more details from our (regular) hosting provider.

They had a power outage in their Utah datacenter where we live.  They switched to generator backup.

Then one of the generators caught fire.

The fire was put out immediately, but power has been cut to the entire building until a safety inspection has been completed.  They also note that some servers might have water damage and could need a rebuild.  

We might be here a couple of days, so pour yourself a drink and get comfortable.

Side note: Buzzion was playing with a blog feature that lets you automatically insert the reader's name into a post or comment.  He didn't actually stop by and insult everyone individually.

66 So, in shooting news, some good news.  The boss actually enjoyed going to the range this week, and she shot the Model 60 snub nose well (single action most of the time, but that's fine).  And the M1 carbine, as always (pinging the 10-in steel plate @50 yds with ease).  So more range time being plotted now.

Heh. Earlier this evening, I was viewing a short video sent by my sister. She got it from her son, my nephew, who was taking cellphone video aboard his new log salvage boat, cruising the waters of the central B.C. coast.

The roar of the Diesel reminded of those crab boats, although his is a smaller vessel, by far.

I am in Japan. When i try to access the HQ using a bookmark, I get 404 (if that.)
But I keep hearing about people accessing it, and backup sites, etc. So I did a google search for the mewee group, and it gave a link to the this page…… OK, I click on the google link and here I am. Same url, but different site.
I guess the DNS I am using over here still has the old, wet and toasty server but google knows where thy backup is. So I have two different tabs, with same url, pointing to different web pages.

That is one of little tidbits in Log Horizon, an expansion pack went live in Japan first and apparently everyone who was logged in waiting for it to be released in Japan instead got pulled into a world very similar to the game. As for the rest of the world, only a few others got pulled in but they did.

239 Tis time.    Had to reinstall Mama to the couch, we tried the bed but she couldn't get comfortable (bothered her shoulder pretty good) so it's back to the couch with the built in recliner.     I can brace her very nicely so she's nice and  comfortable and her shoulder is well supported.
Healing is taking place, the pain level is remarkably low  (much happy ) and she's already using her hand to a remarkable degree.

401 Smaller font is likely a copy paste on their browser that includes the posted by line and so that formatting carries through. Larger font is because they likely know the html code to increase font.

404 Buzzion, I don't think that's it. The font size changes when I refresh but only sometimes. My first comment posted at the normal size. Then after I made my second comment, which posted at normal size, my first comment had shrunk. I refreshed again and it was back to normal size. 
I see that happening with other people's comments too. Maybe it's a new endearing feature meant to drive us mad.

407 Not too surprised by this generator issue - a major datacenter in France burned down a few weeks ago due to a backup battery going nuclear.  Servers are safe to maintain.  The ways of keeping them on when the grid goes out, not so much.
