It's snowing here today, which is great for Utah (although bad for the plans I had today). Here's something funny below the jump: Epic Snow Fails

I like escapist movies; superheros and the like, but just like commie Redford will keep me from going to see the new Capt. America movie, I'll not watch another Afleck movie. BTW - I've never seen a Jane Fonda movie, and won't. I quit watching Sean Penn movies when I found out what a dick he is. My entertainment choices are dissipating rapidly.

I never understood as a kid why the Mormon church never officially endorsed its girls joining Girl Scouts (though many did anyway, cookies mmm) when they had all the boys do Boy Scouting. I later learned this is why, Girl Scouts went all feminazi crazy long ago. Boy scouting will eventually go same way I think.

Quarterback Eli Manning and New York Giants brass created bogus “game-worn” football gear to pass off as the real deal — and one of the forgeries is sitting in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, an explosive new lawsuit claims.
A helmet on display in the hallowed Canton, Ohio, gridiron museum — supposedly worn by Manning in Big Blue’s 2008 Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots — is just one of dozens of fake items the football superstar and his Giants cohorts have created to fool fans and make money from collectors over the years, the lawsuit alleges.
Other “forgeries” passed off on collectors include several Manning jerseys, two 2012 Super Bowl helmets and a 2004 “rookie season” helmet, according to court papers.

Sadly, Affleck is not smart enough to realize that the conservative half of the moviegoing public feels the same way about him and his buds, so maybe cut out the leftwing crazy. OR he does but doesn't care. Lucky for him most Hollywood righties are closeted, preserving the illusion for him that most of them share his worldview. I wonder if he watches Justified, hah.

Once the kids were in school and people at work, it was too late. The city was in an early afternoon rush hour when the ice storm hit.
We went through this in Dallas in early December... 70 degrees one day, freezing rain the next, and you get 1/2 inch of ice covering everything... need zambonis, not plows.

Melissa Harris-Perry mocked Romney's black grandchild and then "apologized" for it. MSNBC is a race baiting hatey-hate channel and they need to be constantly called out for it.

There are "ice" tires out there, or snow tires with ice traction properties, like the Bridgestone Blizzak, for example. But they wear out real fast on dry pavement, which is why I won't even buy them here in Alberta.

Former Lt. Gen. Russel Honore, who coordinated relief efforts along the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina, said things would have gone more smoothly this week if Atlanta's city government was more like New York's.
"They need to have in Atlanta the same type of government you have in New York City, where the mayor controls the city and everything around that city, and the mayor can make decisions on road closures; he has emergency powers as when schools close," he said.

So, is it worth the club fee to join BJ's? (That's the one closest to me.) Or will shopping at Walmart be fine since their stuff is pretty cheap already?
Chique, I find Costco great for buying food for large gatherings because of the large sizes / portions they offer at pretty good prices. But It doesnt work so well for routine perishable food for my family of four unless you eat the same thing day after day. End up throwing alot out because we never finished it and its been in the fridge for 2 weeks. etc..

I'd have to differ with that first one. In much of LA County the Costcos are in places I'd otherwise not care to hang out. Especially the one on Sepulveda that was the site of a fatal armed robbery a few years ago.
The closest Costco to an upper middle-class neighborhood that I've been to would be the one in Westlake Village. It's location is a part of town that was primarily factories up until the late 80s. When Costco first announced their intent to put a store there, the locals fought it tooth and nail, insisting it would draw horrible traffic and a general undesirable element, though they were less vocal about the latter reason, depending on who they thought was listening. A few years later the store was open and the parking lot reliably dominated by BMWs and Mercedes Benz vehicles, along with the occasional Hummer.
The complaint about attracting the 'wrong element' was largely unfounded because that Costco was just the first of several to be added to the region, giving people in those disdained neighborhoods little reason to go all th way to Westlake to shop.

Due to snow in Atlanta our flight was cancelled the day before. We were bumped to first class on a flight to Orlando yesterday. A man came up to me at the gate and asked if we were boarding (I was spaced out and in need of caffine and recovering from mother-in-law). The man who asked me about boarding was Mitt Romney! I don't care what anyone says about him, he is a gentleman and, uh, ladies, looks better in person and close up, even early in the morning. Where was I? I had a brief conversation with him, introduced him to husband, and recovered nicely from the unexpected shock of the meeting. He was friendly, gracious, polite and had no assistants (like Hillary) or anyone carrying his bags or doing whatever Huma does for her. Can any of you imagine Baroque or Bill Clinton without entourage? Or not flying on a private plane but on Delta?
Anyway, it is too bad he did not deliver the SOTU address, as he might have mentioned something other than executive orders and ballyhoo.
I am traveling a lot but do check in here when I can. xoxo
