— Ace Even David Gregory understands the emails scotch the White House lies, and he's no Rhodes Scholar.
Speaking of Rhodes Scholars, Sharyl Atkkisson, before she was forced out of CBS, thought it would be a good idea to disclose that CBS News President David Rhodes is the brother of Obama Equities Balancer Ben Rhodes. Her superiors told her not to make this very basic routine bit of journalistic hygiene, because it wasn't "relevant."
Note that David Rhodes was not the source of this decision; it was some unnamed manager.
[I]n a couple of stories when Ben RhodesÂ’ name appeared or began to surface a long time ago, I argued that we needed to disclose the relationship because thatÂ’s what we should to do. Not because thereÂ’s any guilt or guilt by association or that we had done anything wrong, but disclosure is your friend. It protects you. And as journalists, if we disclose that off the top of a story then people wonÂ’t look back later and say that we hid it. So I did argue the case and was told by a manager it was not necessary because it wasnÂ’t relevant. Which I disagreed with. In another case I wrote a story on the web and I did make the disclosure and Rhodes had no problem with it as far as I know, I didnÂ’t hear from him.
Retired Air Force Brigadier General Robert Lovell, who served as (and this is a mouthful) "Deputy Director for Intelligence and Knowledge Development Directorate for AFRICOM" at the time of the Benghazi attack, testified that the government knew almost immediately that there were no "spontaneously evolving protest/highly coordinated attacks," just hours after the attack.
W]hat we did know quite early on was that this was a hostile action,” he said in his prepared remarks. “This was no demonstration gone terribly awry.”He was pressed on this point by Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), who asked how quickly it became clear that Al Qaeda was involved.
“Very, very soon,” Lovell said. “When we were still in the very early, early hours of this activity.”
“Was it a video?” Chaffetz asked?
“No sir.”
Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) also asked Lovell when he heard of the notion that the attack was a response to a video. Lovell said he heard it only briefly, but not as a serious theory.
When Issa asked if he had heard of this idea before 3:15 a.m. on September 12, 2012, Lovell said it was well before that time, and that the theory was quickly debunked.
“I would have to say [we] probably dismissed that notion by then, by working with other sources,” Lovell said.
“As the highest ranking person working that moment, you dismissed the idea that this attack was in fact a demonstration that had went awry and it was based on a YouTube video out of Los Angeles,” Issa then stated.
“Yessir, short answer,” Lovell responded.
While the responsible intelligence and military officials (some of them on-the-ground in Benghazi) all said this was a coordinated military attack likely conducted by an Al Qaeda affiliate, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and their various partisan Advertising Executives 2500 miles away in Washington, DC, settled on the more politically convenient "YouTube Video Theory of the Crime," and overruled the people who actually knew what the hell they were talking about.
And then, for eighteen months, they lied about this, and claimed the YouTube Video Theory of the Crime actually came from intelligence and military analysts, rather than their own MiniTruth chop-shop.
Lowell also says the United States should have ordered an action to save the lives of the the Benghazi operatives, rather than spending so much time saving the political futures of Obama and Hillary.
(My words, not his.)

Something was rescued from Benghazi, it just wasn't the ambassador. Priorities. If they hadn't lied about Benghazi then Obama might not be re-elected, and Mitt Romney would be president, and we wouldn't have Obamacare anymore, and thousands of people would die like dogs in the street. What is one ambasador compared to that?
That is exactly how they think, and why they have no shame about lying to your face. It's for your own good, plebe.

If I knew, two days after 9/11/12, reading the British Press, of the lack of security in Libya for months, the attacks on British months prior and their leaving the area due to unrest, and the chatter of a coordinated attack, as, uh, Nine Eleven!!11!, then it was as simple as the US press reading what others were reporting vs the WH messaging to essentially save a president running for his second term. He did not want to be known as a president who had a terrorist attack under his watch (uh, Fort Hood). By September 15,2012, when I woke up in a country with no freedom of the press... I could tell you timelines, sources, etc. Who spoke when (Mitt Romney spoke prior to Hillary that night...and Hills only spoke because Romney spoke first. No word from the CiC until the next day, and his whereabouts are still unknown after 5pm). The prez, last seen at 5pm 9/11/12, knowing this was a terror attack, stood by her side at 1035 the next day and spewed the lie of the video...prior to leaving, within hours, to a fundraiser in Las Vegas. Priorities!). A US Ambassador and three other Americans died, unknown injured of the 30-plus evacuated by US Marines from Tripoli...who expected to evacuate 10 as the entire event is so murky. The US President could not rouse himself from his important evening to speak to the country about the events in Benghazi and the attacks on embassies across the Middle East. Questions remain: where was he? And why did he not act like the most powerful leader in the free world?
One of the very few criticisms I have of Mitt Romney is the second debate, when he had Baroque on the ropes, grasping for the saving of that fat Candy biased debate moderator. You looked him in the eye, Mitt...and, yes, indeed, he lied. And you did not want to rabble-rouse or something. He lied, he lied again, and due to this you lost (well, and vote tampering and the dead voting, but I digress).
Two and a half years and countless lies later, here we are. The MSM are slowly waking up to lies. They look like buffoons. Carney is on his last frayed nerve before he leaves to spend more time with his family. Ole Cankles looks a decade older and more pickled than when she shrieked like a banshee: "What difference does it make?" Well, Hills, I think you are fixin' to find out. Let us pray. xoxo

True enough. One of the major reasons cited for impeaching ol' Tricky Dick Nixon was his propensity to lie. But his lies only killed George McGovern's presidential aspirations (a feature, not a bug).
Interestingly, members of Nixon's own party -- some pretty important ones, including Barry Goldwater -- were hounding him to hang it up, which he did.
Choom Boy would never have the decency to resign in the face of his serial felonies, destruction of American institutions and his higher-than-acknowledged body count.
And why should he? Ace seems to be damn near alone among conservative pundits in reminding all of us of the disgrace in the White House by getting President Historic First's© failings out there. NRO or Tepid Air? Not so much....

Recall Debbie Sharkmouth sitting there denying that she said what she said, when a direct quote was read back to her? Recall that other WH flack reading off of a teleprompter (badly) on MSNBC when 'asked' a question?
Then of course, there is the liar in chief who can probably remember every time he has told the truth, because the events are so rare.

It's pretty cool that Barry O Jugears can go golfing and stuff after killing four people.
He is such a STUD. A man's man, a member of the thug life.
Only a super STUD could do what he did, you have to be callous and hard man, HARD.

Let's recap:
-- The press were extremely avid to bring down Nixon. And did.
-- Then, later in the 1970s with Carter, their avidity for tough reporting cooled. The only case in which I can remember the press really going after Carter aggressively was the affair of the "killer rabbit". Rather telling that the press gave him a harder time over a damn rabbit than over, say, the Operation Eagle Claw disaster, or double-digit inflation.
-- Then Reagan came along, and suddenly the press were extremely interested in attacking the Presidency again, for some reason. Name me one time you have seen the WH press corpse nominate someone to rudely bellow questions at Obama as he walks to and from his helicopter. That's what Sam Donaldson's job was for _years_ while Reagan was in office.
-- This combative trend persisted through the Poppy Bush years (anyone else remember Katie Couric's incredibly aggressive "ambush interview" of Bush on what had been agreed would be a quiet nonpolitical tour of the White House?)
-- Then Poppy was replaced by Bill Clinton, and again for some unaccountable reason, the press lost interest in the Presidency. Let's recall that _Newsweek_ worked for years and years trying to run down a Poppy Bush mistress story. Then when they finally DID get a presidential adultery story, it was Clinton, and they deliberately sat on it until Matt Drudge scooped them.
-- Another Bush became president. Back to aggressive persistent questioning and open allegations that the White House was "stonewalling" if there were any lacunae in official responses.
-- Obama. President Boyfriend. Hard-hitting questions about green tea ice cream and how well he had slept. 'Nuff said.
The trend here is glaringly obvious.

Obama and Sterling walk into a bar.
The bartender looks at Sterling and says, " You're really not welcome in here"
Sterling points at Obama and says " but I'm with him"
The bartender says, " With who, I don't see anyone but you"

"Why won't the lap bitches of NBC, CBS, ABC CNN hammer it? I
remember when the press wanted to bring politicians down a notch or 2."
That was before all the Inbreeding between the Dems and the Media.
There is no 'six degrees of separation' between the MSM and the DNC.
They are one big extended inbred Family.

"... anyone else remember Katie Couric's incredibly aggressive 'ambush interview' of Bush on what had been agreed would be a quiet nonpolitical tour of the White House?"
Yet despite this, the genius campaign staff for McCain '08 figured that it would be a great idea to plug Sarah Palin in for a one-on-one interview with Couric, where Couric controlled the editing and what aired.
Then of course Couric crudely mugged Palin, and the McCain staffers then claimed it was all Palin's fault.
