FEC Chairman Warns: The Left Will Not Stop Until It Enlists the Power of Government to "Regulate" Political Speech by Conservative Media, and Even Conservative Blogs
— Ace

Not even hiding it anymore.

Government officials, reacting to the growing voice of conservative news outlets, especially on the internet, are angling to curtail the media's exemption from federal election laws governing political organizations, a potentially chilling intervention that the chairman of the Federal Election Commission is vowing to fight.

...

All media has long benefited from an exemption from FEC rules, thereby allowing outlets to pick favorites in elections and promote them without any limits or disclosure requirements like political action committees.

But Goodman cited several examples where the FEC has considered regulating conservative media, including Sean Hannity's radio show and Citizens United's movie division. Those efforts to lift the media exemption died in split votes at the politically evenly divided board, often with Democrats seeking regulation.

...

“The picking and choosing has started to occur,” said Goodman. “There are some in this building that think we can actually regulate” media, added Goodman, a Republican whose chairmanship lasts through December. And if that occurs, he said, “then I am concerned about disparate treatment of conservative media.”

He added, “Truth be told, I want conservative media to have the same exemption as all other media.”

25 If they begin to "regulate" "conservative" media, and not regulate the flamboyantly biased liberal media which comprises 90% of the media anyway, then it is truly time for a revolution. And also this: Elections really do have consequences. Give the Dems an iota of power and they will pull out all the totalitarian stops to keep themselves in power forever. Anyone reading this who votes for a D or who refrains from voting for some dumb "principled" reason which essentially counts as a half-vote for the D on the ballot will share responsibility for the upcoming repression/revolution.

Dear Mr. O'Spades,

Your website has come to our attention as a potentially conservative blog.  We were first told that you use "smart military blog" as a cover for your clandestine partisan agenda, but we find little substantive military coverage.

We would like some guidance as to the code words used on your site so that we can accurately assess the degree of conservative apostasy and adjust our sanctions accordingly.

So, Thai tranny hookers, hobo-skinning, garbage humping and Val-U-Rite refer to immigration reform?  Face-sized spiders would be about RINOs.  Frankly, we're quite at a loss as to "the Ravage".

Please explain these items and everything pertaining to weasels and Scandis in triplicate.  We will review your submission and make a determination as to the degree to which you will be crushed, stomped, banned from the internet, and subjected to the lamentations of your 'ettes.

Thanks you very much.

It really does seem to me that the fascists want a civil war to break out so they can legally issue martial law decrees. Couple problems with that: a) All the gun makers are moving south of the Mason-Dixon line as are manufacturing in general so all the power of the North is heading South; b) More conservatives than liberals generally, or at the very least more people who want to be left alone than want to control everyone; c) The military is mainly comprised of people who want to serve their country, and I have to believe that when given orders to fire on fellow Americans they'll quit or turn around and shoot their Democrat commanding officer.

My thoughts on the matter, at least.

101 I have no doubt that some brilliant leftist will write a book explaining that the First Amendment was only meant to protect speech and the press in terms of the news media as they understood it in the late 1780s. There will then be several hundred pages of impenetrable legalese followed by the obvious conclusion that the only way we can "form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity" is to have the government insure truthful news reporting and opinion by only allowing properly trained journalists to claim the protection of the 1st Amendment. If that sounds stupid, recall that libs and lefties continue to insist that the 2nd Amendment really only protects the right of the states to keep militias.

110 why the do some people feel that there needs to be a majority in agreement to be legitimate? Only 3% of the colonists engaged in the Revolution, and how many Tories were there? Hard-working, patriotic Americans are a MINORITY in our own country. If it comes to a choice of the majority enslaving a minority( that basically keeps the country running), or the minority "enslaving" the majority by removing their voting rights and their welfare/government job trough, then it is obvious to me who needs to be "enslaved". I have left out a couple of connecting statements.

They are now advocating (at high official levels) the censorship of political voices they dislike.  They aren't hiding that.  My take is they ae getting frustrated and they are panicking.

Look at their control over the sources of information - media and Hollywood - and the sources of academic certification - and they still cannot get the amount of control that they believe they need.*  Now is the time for them to take big, bold steps into out and out tyranny beause that always ends well.

*All that control and this is the best they can do?  I can understand their frustration at that and if I were a hard lefty I would feel some shame at the utter incompetence - shame that would be turned into purge trial rage at the imbeciles who keep messing it up.

Am I advocating that the Left commit a purge to get the obvious traitors out of its ranks?  Why ask when you know the answer?

162 http://www.justice.gov/ usao/okn/news/2014/teamdigi7al0505.html The single-count Information alleges that Nicholas Paul Knight, 27, of Chantilly, Virginia, and Daniel Trenton Krueger, 20, of Salem, Illinois, conspired to hack computers and computer systems as part of a plan to steal identities, obstruct justice, and damage a protected computer. “The Navy quickly identified the breach and tracked down the alleged culprits through their online activity, revealing an extensive computer hacking scheme committed across the country and even abroad,” said U.S. Attorney Danny C. Williams. “We aggressively pursue individuals who steal personal information, especially when they victimize the men and women who bravely defend our country and our Constitution.” According to the Information, in June 2012, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (“NCIS”) detected a breach of the U.S. Navy’s Smart Web Move (“SWM”) database. Prior to this breach, the Navy used SWM to manage transfers for service members of all branches of the military. The SWM database stored sensitive personal records, including Social Security numbers, names, and dates of birth, for approximately 220,000 service members. The servers that stored these records were located in Tulsa, giving rise to the venue in the Northern District of Oklahoma. The SWM hackers were initially known only by their online aliases as members of a hacking group called Team Digi7al (pronounced “Digital”). However, the NCIS investigation, later assisted by investigators of the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (“DCIS”), identified Knight and Krueger as the alleged hackers. .. The Information also charges that Knight served as the criminal organization’s self-proclaimed leader and publicist, while Krueger completed the technical hacking work of the SWM database and claimed to do so “out of boredom.” One conspirator stated online that the group was “somewhat politically inclined to release the things [they had],” but also because it was “fun, and we can.” After hacking these organizations, the defendants and other conspirators posted links to the stolen information on Team Digi7al’s Twitter account to make the private information available to the public. At the time of the hacking attacks, Knight was an active duty enlisted Navy member assigned to the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman as a systems administrator in the nuclear reactor department. Krueger was a student at an Illinois community college where he studied network administration.

I don't, in fact.

Granted, in the REAL America the behavior of our current lawless, treasonous regime would have been resisted, by whatever means necessary, but in today's America Our Betters are in full control, as they have dreamed of being ever since the days of FDR, and they are now asserting themselves.

Why and how? Because there is no one who will oppose them. No one.

We are more weak-kneed and cowardly than the French in 1939-40. As long as the Free Shit flows, we will complaisantly accept whatever happens.

Wish someone would prove me the hell wrong, but I'm not seein' it.

194 I'm gonna keep using Google. I find youtube, google maps, and google docs very useful. Microsoft is only moderately less left-wing than Google. If you make a useful tool for me I'm even more forgiving of crazy politics than entertaining media. I'm not an ascetic looking to rid my life of all impurities. Where I can, and where the cost to me is not that great, I try to steer my money and time away from left-wing groups and towards the right. When it comes to media it's pretty easy to not give clicks or money to the Left. When it comes to software tools, that's much harder.

207 OT but somebody mentioned Rush. I see a lot of hay being made about the fact that his ratings are down significantly in recent years, particularly since he changed stations in New York and California. Lefty douchebags are trumpeting the idea that conservative talk radio is finally tanking just like liberal talk radio did. And maybe it is, but they seem to be reading too much into it. I rarely if ever listen to Rush anymore in spite of currently having a two-year Rush 24/7 subscription. Most of the time nowadays, I listen to podcasts. 219 Condi is part of the problem. She has no way of saying "Fuck you, I was invited to speak and that's just what I'm going to do, assholes" eman, From former occasions, THAT is the case. When she first returned to Berkeley after GWBush left office, everywhere she gave speeches she was heckled. And she very deliberately corrected the hecklers' errors in reported sound bites, not backing down one inch. Rather, standing very tall. Striking impact. The rude audience members tucked their tale/tails between their legs and retreated into the shadows. So if Condi Rice chooses to not give a speech, it isn't because she hasn't the guts or skills to face down opponents with hard, cold facts that set right her record. [That said, and crediting her "class" act, doesn't mean that I support her neoconservative agenda.]

When they are blaming their problems on actors that are - let's face it - pretty far down the information distribution scale, then you know they are frustrated at a lack of progress.  And you know they are pretty close to going for an internal scapegoat because the failures cannot be because of the plans being wrong, it must be because of wreckers within!

I recommend that teh Left start a probe for wreckers within its own ranks and then conduct a purge.  It will purify their movements and make them much more effective.

Trust me.
