Ho, Hum: Paul Ryan Accused By Chattering Classes of Being Racist
— Ace

Paul Ryan said, in an interview with Bill Bennet, “We have got this tailspin of culture in our inner cities, in particular, of men not working and just generations of men not even thinking about working or learning the value and the culture of work.”

For saying this, the left and the media (but I repeat myself) have been insisting he's a racist for ten straight days.

Rich Lowery has dug up some more racist quotes.

What notorious racist said the following? “Fewer young black and Latino men participate in the labor force compared to young white men. And all of this translates into higher unemployment rates and poverty rates as adults.

“In troubled neighborhoods all across this country—many of them heavily African American—too few of our citizens have role models to guide them.”

“We know that more than half of all black children live in single-parent households…. We know the statistics—that children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of school and twenty times more likely to end up in prison.”

“We know young black men are twice as likely as young white men to be ‘disconnected’—not in school, not working.”

Have you figured out which incorrigible dog-whistling racist made such vicious comments about inner city dysfunctions?

Hint: His initials are "BHO," and when he said things like this, he was hailed as a truth-telling, post-partisan Savior of Mankind.

Related: David Harsanyi questions the reductive, racial claim made by progressives that Asians vote Democratic mostly because they're upset by "microaggressions" that people they psychically know to be conservative lodge at them, "microaggressions" sometimes taking the form of the question, "Where were you born?"

9 Paul Ryan could destroy this argument, but he won't. He'll go along with it like he actually did something wrong. And by doing so, he will be doing something wrong. If he truly feels guilty for what he said, so be it. But if he's accepting the guilt they thrust upon him, Fuck. Him.

Rep. Sit-ups also had some town-halls in the district yesterday, which gave us this:

Ryan also took multiple questions on how to deal with Obama’s last two years in office. He joked he “actually tried to defeat this president,” referencing his vice presidential bid.

“The constitution’s the constitution. Elections have consequences,” Ryan said. “You gotta wait until 2016 to change that. There’s just nothing you can do about it.”

There has been a culture of victimhood gaining strength for the last 50 years in this country, and infantile thinking like this has been one of the main results. I'm not racist, you're not racist, nor is anyone else here, but try telling that to a media and a general population that has been marinated in a sense of "oh, poor me!!" for the last three generations. It's up to you as teachers to make all these sick children well - by creating the international child of the future."

I don't know about this one.  Biden "won" the debate in the sense that he won a plurality of the crowd's affections.  That's a function of the crowd being easily won over by a buffoon's antics.  If you judge the debate purely by intellectual argument and content, Ryan won hands down.

196 Spring Equinox Bomada looks prezzy by appearing on the Ellen Show. Next to her, he looks masculine? Not possible. Meanwhile, manly man in Russia makes appearance in Crimea and Ukraine (soon enough). The Economy Sucks. That's what the Ukraine was whining about, begging the EU to pay of the Ukraine's debts to Russia; as if the EU could afford that, and as if the EU could provide the Ukraine with oil and gas for energy that the Ukraine lacks. Oops, the EU encouraged the Ukraine to develop NUCLEAR power. Like Japan did, on the cheap (no maintenance). Fed Chair says hold your breath, or not. Federal Reserve, China's Central Banking and the EU are all bankrupt and accruing more speculation as if investment debt. That while US and EU taxpayers are burdened to provide the central banks the "lost" money that the central banks effectively stole for bankster corporate bonus. And since our easy, breazy cover girl prezzy issued every sanction he could imagine vs. Russia, Russia with China are launching their NEW global currency they've been planning for decades, mutually for years now. To announce the dollar is not welcome outside the USA...(Jay Carney better get his answers in order asap), NASA issues report (astronomer's opinion from on high) that the poor in America will riot and pillage and destroy the USA. (As if the transnational corporate big shots haven't already sucked dry the Middle Class.) Hint: pay MORE taxes to be pirated by global banksters, STFU, and no more space exploration for the likes of American tax payers. Just crank out those drones. 199 TRIGGER WARNING: I managed to get every single one of the triggers mentioned in this afternoon's thread into the same story:

Once there was a misogynist terrorist who was about to be executed for drunk driving.  He had successfully gotten his weight under 200 pounds, so he didn't feel guilty about ordering a cheeseburger with 1,000 calories.  As he was being led away, the executioner remarked, "You should've known the Stand Your Ground law doesn't authorize you to shoot black people."

"I did it because I have PTSD from when I blew up a gay bar with my drone," the terrorist replied.  "Besides which, it's all the victims' fault anyway."

Just then, somebody yelled "F***!" in the morgue.  "I abused my stupid, dumb slave too much, and now she was caught punching children in the teeth," the medical examiner explained.  "She killed herself out of her shame at having Asperger's, and I was so shocked that I dropped a skull on all my needles and broke them.  I could just kick myself for that.  I need to go get high."

"Don't get high," said the executioner.  "Do some relaxing open-heart surgery instead.  First, you make an incision on the chest.  Be sure if you slice any blood vessels open, you reattach them at the end."  He then threw the switch on the electric chair and executed the terrorist.  In the terrorist's death throes, he vomited on some spiders, insects, and snakes, killing them.

"Oh no, we forgot to ask him for his last words!" said the medical examiner.  She ran over to the terrorist's body and began moving his jaw up and down.  "I want to kidnap communists and fascists," she said for the terrorist.  Out of habit, the executioner threw the switch again, which incinerated the terrorist and left only a skeleton behind.  The medical examiner then had consensual sex with the executioner and got pregnant.  She had to have the baby by Caesarian section, which involved a lot of blood and left a scar on her stomach.  At the baby shower, the only gift they got was a slimy Nazi helmet, which the executioner buried in a hole.  He then washed his hands 300 times to get the slime off.

220 To date, George said TIGTA has received reports of more than 20,000 contacts and thousands of victims have already paid out over $1 million due to the scam.

“The increasing number of people receiving these unsolicited calls from individuals who fraudulently claim to represent the IRS is alarming,” George said. “At all times, and particularly during the tax filing season, we want to make sure that innocent taxpayers are alert to this scam so they are not harmed by these criminals.”

According to the IRS watchdog, if somebody claiming to be from the IRS demands immediate payment with threats “that is a sign that it really isn’t the IRS calling.”

The IRS generally will be in touch with people initially by mail about unpaid taxes, not by phone. Furthermore, the agency will not ask for payment via wire transfer or pre-paid debit, nor will they request a credit card number over the phone.

Which is why Ryan should have been prepared to halt in the middle and question the moderator's competence and objectivity.

"Ms. Raddatz, I came here to debate Mr. Biden. With the understanding that you would enforce order in that debate. Instead it seems I'm debating both him, and you. Can you explain what's going on here?"

As for Slow Joe and his noisy theatrics, Ryan had an absolutely note-perfect riposte opportunity, given that Ryan has a young son.

"I've got a seven-year-old who occasionally has to be reminded to quiet down and wait his turn. I never thought I'd see a grown man who is seventy years old who needs the same reminder."

Instead of any of these sorts of pushback, Ryan sat there with a hangdog beta-male cringing don't-hit-me smile, while Biden refused to let him so much as complete a sentence, and Raddatz sat by and let Biden get away with doing so (Why even HAVE moderators if they won't moderate?)

246 Republicans don't want to fight the left because they believe what the left believes.

They just know that they won't get votes from the right if they say so.

So when they inadvertently speak a truth that the left doesn't like, they immediately apologize and retract.

Because the left getting angry at what they said gives them cover (or it used to) with the right because secretly the right believes the left is correct also just not about money and stuff. (the genesis if you will of the stfu socons seen so often)

Once you achieve political nirvana, it's easy to see how it all fits together.

252 >>> Fen's Law

"Please to explain?"

There are several quoted variants, but this one is the simplest:

Fen's Law: The Left don't really believe the things that they say.

Thus, as shown here with the juxtaposition of essentially the identical statements about racial difficulties from Obama and from Ryan, the left declare that one of these sets of statements contain brilliant leadership and incisive analysis, while they declare that the other set of statements is TEH RAYCISS ELEVENTY and ignorant crapola.

They don't actually believe that Ryan is a vicious racist, but it's convenient identity politics fodder for them to pretend that they think he is.

261 237 203 I was really fired up about Ryan a couple years ago. The debate was the first crack in the façade I think for me. He laid down for SloJoe. He barely mustered a defense at all. He could and should have destroyed the dumbest man to ever occupy that post. It should have been fish in a barrel. Instead Ryan sat there like a bitch. His Shamnesty push has made him dead to me so I could give a fuck if he twists in the wind. Posted by: Minnfidel at March 20, 2014 07:12 PM (/rlXg) Well to be fair I think Ryan thought someone holding the office of VP should have more decorum; I think he was playing to the strategy of I will let this guy look like a braying fool while I look vice presidential. Posted by: LizLem at March 20, 2014 07:27 PM (BF+2f) Trouble is, that actually appeals to the portion of the electorate on the left side of the bell curve: "Ha! Check this out! That guy Ryan's such a dweeb that Biden is laughing at him! Hahaha!"

Posted by: rickl at March 20, 2014 03:41 PM (sdi6R)

262 243.  Perfect.

Had Ryan done that he would have owned the news circle for the next week.

Or,

"Ms Radditz, I came here to discuss the serious issues of a serious time.  Our country is in deep trouble.  Four heroic Americans are dead in Libya and this administration refuses to tell us the truth about it.  The Administration is lying to us. The economy is stuck in the mud as a result of the policies Mr. Biden cannot defend.

We can see from his behavior here tonight that Mr. Biden is desperate to distract the American people from that and that is why Mr. Biden is acting the way he is tonight -- rudely interrupting and snorting unprofessionally.  But the American people deserve better than Mr. Biden is giving them tonight and Mr. Obama has given them for nearly four years.  Restoring dignity to the Office of Vice President is something I intend to do and that starts tonight.

Joe, act like you're in a vice presidential debate and not like you're sitting in a bar in Wilmington."

Posted by: D. Spare at March 20, 2014 03:41 PM (YBusZ)

263 There's also a certain segment of the electorate that would've appreciated seeing Ryan hit Biden over the head with a coffee mug.

Oops (doing my willow thing) - well, was just gonna comment that, probably owing to my immeasurable alienation from what was once the USA, I am  sort of conflicted about this Ryan thing.

Of course the whole thing is an outrageous bit of slander and idiocy and race-baiting that pretty fairly represents the degradation of the public square by what is called "the left".  Ridiculously unfair and stupid on its face.

But then again, not sure I care, if it serves to smear Ryan, for whom I have no use any more.  If Ryan is going to work hand-in-glove with some of the worst professional racists in the country, promoting an obviously disastrous policy that would indisputably be a social disaster, a fiscal catastrophe, and a legal/constitutional calamity (amnesty), then ...... whatever.  Don't care if he's framed for child abuse and run out of public life.

Yep, that's where we are.  It's desperate, hand-to-hand, street-by-street fighting to salvage anything of value.  Anyone who makes the substantively and politically idiotic move Ryan did is obviously not to be relied upon.

Hahaha!" Posted by: rickl at March 20, 2014 07:41 PM (sdi6R) I am now convinced that this is the strategy of Obama and the Left. They know they have the academics and intelligentsia on their side.* So if they can get the vast majority of dumb people to vote for them, they will win every time. If they can get everyone with a 90 or 80 IQ to vote for them, it won't matter if those with 110 or 120 IQs think they're full of shit. It's impossible to persuade dumb people with appeals to logic and reason. But pushing their emotional buttons gets them every time. (*Much has been written about the phenomenon of why intellectuals tend to hate capitalism. People like philosophy professors and art museum curators HATE the fact that the owner of a car dealership with the aesthetic tastes of Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack is richer then them. They take that as proof of the injustice of the capitalist system.)

But rickl ..... in many many cases, academics no longer make much less than successful folks in the real economy.  They make vastly more, all things counted, then their predecessors did.  And, in general, are idiots and left-wing freaks (BIRM), whereas their predecessors were, uh, "diverse".

Had the chance to do a side-by-side between current poli sci profs and some retired ones from a large state univ. in CA.  Sickening.  The old guys were great - interesting, experienced people (one an eastern European emigre) - by no means conservative, but smart, reasonable, seasoned.  The current ones?  Shallow, screechy, ideological, ignorant, uninteresting - and paid multiples of what the old guys used to get.

306 It's an interesting dichotomy, racism is so toxic in America today that tarring someone as a racist is the left's go-to tactic for delegitimizing any conservative politician or idea that challenges their sensibilities on race.

Yet they also claim they're the only thing standing between the racist masses and the reintroduction of Jim Crow laws.

We are a nation of cowards when it comes to discussions on race.

As an American of Chinese descent & ties to Vietnam here are my 2 cents on why East Asians vote Democrat these days.

Many East Asians believe in a strong gov't that can solve problems. I believe that it's also not a coincidence that China, Korea, Japan & Vietnam ALL have fascism or communism (collectivism) in the 20th century and that many of these gov'ts have stunk.

Also, East Asian countries have a Confucian background. You can't get much more paternalistic than that. Also, the parents push the kids to go to college. Gov't positions are required to hire many of those grads.
