— DrewM There's very little enjoyable in politics these days so there's not telling how long this tasty morsel of schadenfreude will have to last. Enjoy it while you can.
MMFA rejected their Card Check bid, so the union petitioned the National Labor Relations Board On April 10 to force the nonprofit to hold a workplace election. Meanwhile, MMFA hired Perkins Coie, a law firm that specializes in specializes in representing management in union disputes."For an organization that says they are not opposing employees' efforts to unionize, it's a little suspicious that they hired such a fancy legal team," Honey said. MMFA does not appear to be open to any solution that doesn't involve dragging in the NLRB, he added.
...
Media Matters has posted numerous articles supporting workers' rights and labor organizing. It has argued that "economists point to declining union participation as one cause of the growing economic rift in America" and claimed it was a fact that "unions increase productivity [and] do not reduce business competitiveness."
According to the union a majority of Media Matter interns/scholars/hacks have already indicated their support for unionization.

Likely outcome if Media Matters unionizes? Soros stops funding it and it slowly shrivels up and dies, while amazingly at the same time this brand "new" organization appears and starts doing the same thing that Media Matters does.

Except this isn't an instance of US shouting, "HYPOCRISY!!!" This is an instance of the UNION shouting, "HYPOCRISY!!" There's a big difference.
Personally, this is a situation where I hope both sides lose and lose badly, since I hate unions with a burning passion and hate MMFA almost as much.

I was still smiling from the collapse of Cover Oregon and their horribly smug YouTube videos including hippie flotsam Laura Gibson singing her immortal "Live Long in Oregon".
And then you offer up MMFA's anti-union wonderfulness.
And how about the racist owner of the Clippers about to get a NAACP lifetime achievement award?

Easy.
CARD CHECK makes it easier for leftwing union thugs (BIRM) to harass anyone who doesn't toe the union line, thus making it easier to get "the right" decisions passed.
VOTER ID makes it harder for leftwing thugs (BIRM) to practice widespread voter fraud, thus making it more difficult to put "the right" candidates in office.

We are getting ever closer to the left's desired end state. And the plebes in the leftwing alliance are going to be very, very unhappy with what that final end state looks like.
The modern left has no real ideology in the sense that we use the term, everything is a play for more power.
And when the left finally reaches that point, we aren't getting utopia, we aren't even getting Sweden. We are getting Italy in 1938...at best.

The costs and logistics of moving a plant 1000 miles away is mind-boggling. Not only was Texas a good short-term deal for them -- I'm sure Perry made sure of that -- but they have obviously concluded it's a good long-term deal for them.
This isn't a plant though it seems. This is more of their corporate offices. Its Sales and Marketing jobs.

Last week I caught part of Clark Howard. I consider what he says to be about 50% decent information and 50% bullshit. He was talking up how businesses are apparently planning to start ramping up their hiring of new college graduates and how that shows an improving economy, even though most of the jobs will end up being below $40,000/yr salary.
On hearing that I just couldn't shake the thought that they were planning to hire new graduates because they could more successfully get them to be hired and not offer them employer provided health insurance. So they can pay them less and get away with offering fewer benefits.

And even cheaper if you can figure out how to not even give them insurance at all. The reality of the Obamaconomy.

Warren has quickly become a populist hero to liberals. Stephanopoulos, host of ABC’s The Week, noted something in her background that “might surprise” her supporters: the fact that she has voted Republican in the past, and was a registered Republican in Pennsylvania from 1991 to 1996. Warren said she left the party after that because she felt it was siding more and more with Wall Street:
"I was an independent. I was with the GOP for a while because I really thought that it was a party that was principled in its conservative approach to economics and to markets. And I feel like the GOP party just left that. They moved to a party that said, “No, it’s not about a level playing field. It’s now about a field that’s gotten tilted.” And they really stood up for the big financial institutions when the big financial institutions are just hammering middle class American families. I just feel like that’s a party that moved way, way away."

Of course leftists assume there is a vast right wing conspiracy because - as the journolist scandal demonstrated - there actually is a vast left wing conspiracy. So they naturally assume we do the same sorts of things they do. Projection is not just a booth at a movie theater.
