— Ace Yup. Of course he prefers a single-payer disaster but he calls the current disaster what it is, which is a disaster.
In an op-ed published at the New York Times, Moore wrote, "Obamacare is awful.""For many people, the 'affordable' part of the Affordable Care Act risks being a cruel joke," added Moore. "The cheapest plan available to a 60-year-old couple making $65,000 a year in Hartford, Conn., will cost $11,800 in annual premiums. And their deductible will be $12,600. If both become seriously ill, they might have to pay almost $25,000 in a single year."
Even the Husky Huckster can add a premium to a deductible and sum up the out-of-pocket expenses for the "Affordable" Health Care Act.
The more the planners plan, the more they fail, and the more power they require to implement new fixes to their plans.

I had a bit of an Obamafail run-in with my millionaire Marxist physician uncle on Christmas Eve. I had actually always assumed the guy was at least somewhat intelligent even if we disagreed, he proved to me (and quite a few others) that he is an idiot.
I tend to crack on Obamacare whenever an opportunity arises, especially around the 20-somethings. Well he heard this one and said, "You know, I'm getting sick of this, I'm going to defend Obamacare". So I said, "well sit right down, I'd love to hear what the defense is."
So to start, he claimed the only real problem is the website which he claims works perfectly in RI (probably bullshit, I don't really know or care). I asked him if it's so great in RI, why it had to be forced on the rest of the country? He asked me if I thought that states like LA, or AL would do it if they weren't forced? I said obviously not, to which he responded, 'well, that's why.' I asked why forcing people into this system was so important for him, he said it was so they could make sure that everybody has the proper level of insurance.
At this point I kind of laughed and said, "well, that's what makes you a Leftist." The lifelong Marxist got seriously offended at this and claimed he was not on the Left, maybe to me, right-wing extremist, it seemed that way, but he's in no way a Leftist. I said, "with the possible exception of your wife, you are without question the most politically Leftist person among the dozens in this house right now, hell, you started your defense of Obamacare by stating your true desire is for a single payer system. Are you actually aware of what Right-Left even means in the political sense?" At this point I gave him a quick lecture re: the political spectrum as in state-coersion vs. individual liberty. He clearly didn't like this discussion about the true division between the political Right and Left and wanted to drop the subject.
Ok, so back to Obamacare, he then claimed it's great because we're finally getting insurance to the uninsured. I asked about the millions who have had their policies cancelled vs. the (allegedly) hundred thousand or so who have managed to enroll, sounds to me like you just took people previously paying for their own health insurance, and made them uninsured, the exact opposite of your claim. His response was to stop watching Fox News' lies. I told him I don't watch tv news, so he said to stop reading Drudge then, lol. FYI, this retard prefaces almost every 'fact' with, "I heard on NPR..."
Then I asked him about the promise to lower costs. He claimed it did. Told him how one of my co-workers has a business she and her husband own. They'd been helping their few employees get insurance, she showed me the plans offered for next year. Not pretty. For a mere $4000/yr more, they could purchase a far shittier plan with much higher deductables, $6000-$7000/yr more to keep a similar level. He claimed this was just because they were being offered a bad insurance plan before, and now have to pay extra for a good one. I pointed out again that this far more expensive plan was in fact far poorer coverage at which point I think I finally made him snap.
After hearing my story about lower-middle class people getting utterly boned by his elitist bullshit, he completely changed the subject and made it all about me. He lectured me about my lack of compassion, and how on this Christmas season I should warm my heart and have more compassion for people. Again, this is after shrugging off examples of real people getting screwed by his policies, he attacks me for not having compassion for all the hypothetical people of the world, you know, like he does.
Now, I laughed at this line of attack to start, I'm used to it from liberals, but clearly this was all he had left and this is a guy who is not used to losing arguments. So he takes my laughing at this as a Serious You Guys matter and decides his brilliant defense of Obamacare is going to revolve around what a piece of shit I am.
He then absurdly accuses me of not caring about starving children. Well, being the prick I am, my first response to this was, "what starving children?" He got flabbergasted, "what do you mean? Do you actually think there aren't any starving children in this country right now?" I say, "in a country of over 300 million people, I'm sure there's a kid somewhere who could use a bite to eat, but I just don't see hunger as a problem in this country. You're a doctor, you're probably well aware that in this country, poverty and obesity go hand-in-hand." He says, "yeah, because they don't have enough money to buy quality food." I laugh again and pat him on the shoulder, "so I'm glad we can agree that there aren't any children going hungry due to my lack of compassion, right?"
So now I've got him raging, he stands up and pulls the, "I'll win this if I stand over you not allowing you to stand up so I can look down on you while I lecture you". And it was more of the, I'm a heartless prick variety, he even pulled the "I'm 65, how dare you question me" card. I immediately responded, "but my grandparents sitting right there are over 90 and agree with everything I'm saying. What's the new slogan? Don't trust anyone over 90?"
Now he's raging extra-hard started telling me he knows that I'm a racist in my job and that I don't treat people the same based on how prejudiced I am. Prick hasn't the slightest idea what I really do, but he's damn sure I'm a racist at it. Now I know by this point, he was just trolling for an angry reaction from me, a win by default of me cursing him out in front of the family. Well, he wasn't going to get it, I continued to laugh as I shook my head realizing that all respect I'd ever had for this guy had been forever lost.
I wasn't through with him though, got in a few additional digs. Before he left for the night I told him to lay off the NPR, that state-run radio rots your brain. Then the next day during Christmas, I didn't really feel like talking to the douche, but as he left, I shook his hand, looked him in the eye, and said "I wish you a Merry Christmas from the cold crevices of the empty heart-shaped cavity in my chest."
Really though, the main reason I enjoy these types of confrontations is not because I'd thought I'd make a dent on him, I knew I wouldn't. It was for the younger crowd watching on. One of my brother's 25 year old friend was watching the whole thing. He said to me after, "I've heard all about how bad Obamacare is from you, I was actually interested in hearing someone finally defend it, but all he did was keep changing the subject and attacking you." I said, "Yeah, it wasn't much of a defense of Obamacare, but in his defense, claiming that Obamacare is a disaster because I'm a heartless racist is at least as good as the best defense I've heard for this POS to date."

It's cost is irrelevant. The quality of care it provides or if care is provided at all is irrelevant. It's complete lack of patient rights is irrelevant. The only relevant consideration is that no prole can use their personal wealth or property to get better medical care than any other prole. Outcomes of the proles are equal=> goal accomplished.

As it goes with muscle cars, so it goes with health care:
Fast, reliable, cheap: Pick two.
Our traditional healthcare system operates under the 'fast, reliable' model- we have ready access to some of the highest quality healthcare in the world. Necessarily, that ease of access and high quality (reliability) comes at a high cost.
It is very well possible that a single-payer model might be significantly cheaper, either under a 'fast, cheap' or 'reliable, cheap' model.
You either get easy, fast, cheap access to sub-standard care, or quality care with long wait times and poor access (rationing).
Anybody who tells you that you can have all three- fast, reliable and cheap- is a filthy liar who should be ignored.

Better yet, working a non-union film is a good way to ensure that you will NEVER be able to join a union in the future. And quitting a union to work a single non-union film will mean the major studios pretty much write you off, even if you're a famous A or B-lister behind the camera.
Ironically, the film industry doesn't fuck around when it comes to blacklisting.
