Morning Detritus
— DrewM

Ben obviously got a little drunk last night celebrating the game 3 victory by his flightless waterfowl over my NY Rangers and can't be bothered to feed you news. Well, we'll have the last laugh when he stumbles out of bed and realizes that chick he hooked up with at the bar was really a Thai Tranny Hooker*.

Anyway...here's a news dump for you.

Obama wants to talk about the weather, er, climate change so naturally the MSM complies.

The American people continue to let Obama down by steadfastly not giving a shit about any of this nonsense. Racists the lot of you.

Instead of listening to all this propaganda you should listen to the podcast I did with Marc Marano of Climate Depot a few weeks back.

*It's very possible that none of that is true. But who is to say either way?

Greetings from Sodom. How we wish you were here:

San Francisco supervisor David Campos hosted a fundraiser Monday night for his California state assembly race at a Mission District adult film studio that bills itself as "the largest fetish porn company in the world."

Donors got a tour of the Kink.com studio - a hulking, Moorish-style brick castle that celebrates an erotic subculture involving dominance, submission, role-playing and lots of restraining devices - as well as food and drinks at the studio's bar across the street. There, broad-shouldered men wearing only bow ties for tops chatted with models and donors while drag queens and porn directors picked over a platter of chicken wings laid out below a painting of a woman wearing a ball gag.

Many political insiders in Sacramento said they nearly dropped their morning coffee when reading about the planned fundraiser in a popular political roundup because most candidates raise campaign cash at upscale restaurants, casual coffeehouses or the homes of the well-to-do. "My first reaction was why would anyone promote this, and who would want to be seen going walking out with a bag of goodies?" said veteran Democratic political consultant Steve Maviglio. "It seems like raw meat for his opponent, even in the most liberal district. I imagine a lot of donors would cringe when reading about this."

Supervisor Campos all but rolled his eyes at that statement. "Maybe that same thing could be said about other things that make San Francisco unique, like the Folsom Street Fair," he said.

Question 1:

If copper nitrate is mixed with ammonium sulfide, a black precipitate forms.  Is the white solvent committing a racial microagression against the black solid for not recognizing the inherent racial power imbalance that exists across all of society?  Devise a way that this reaction may be performed in a race-neutral class-conscious manner.

Chris Matthews was in a lather this morning on MJ and accidentally said something awesome.  His basic point was that we need Democratic idealism and Republican efficiency.  Americans trust GOP with money, but GOP doesn't want to spend it, likes Dem ideas but don't trust Dems to manage the money.

And in the middle of his spittle rage he said, "when you give the Democrats money they throw it away, heck sometimes they pee it away. Look at the stimulous".  Or words to that effect.

Pack em in your garage, start you car, and walk away (I learned that trick from Adolf). But what about all those bodies you ask? Simple, dump em in the dumpster like my aborted hunk of tissue. You can see my videos at 'EvilDrippingF'ingGash'.

Bakersfield? Displaced Okies?

I was driving home, early Sunday morning, through Bakersfield, listening to gospel music on the colored radio station, when the preacher said "you know you'll always have the Lord on your side".

So I ran twenty red lights in his honor. Thank you, Jesus.  Thank you, Lord.

90 I've really been enjoying Cosmos, but have been dreading the moment when the show covered global warming. Sure enough, the last 10-15 minutes of the show on Sunday was a heavy-handed scold all about how there were empty spaces waiting for us in the Halls of Extinction if we don't change our ways.

It was done from a mostly global perspective though, so at least it avoided the "Americans are turrble, it's all our fault".

99 This is O/T, but at the American Thinker blog there is an article about author David Remmick stating that the world lets Obama down. The article is short, but the comments are good. For instance: Benton H Marder • a few seconds ago We disappoint him? All this reminds me of Berthold Brecht, who once said or wrote that the people having been found unworthy of their leaders needed to be replaced with a new people. This is what the Reconquista and the Muslim Influx is all about---creating a new people to replace us. Our glorious elites will then have to decide what is to be done with the old people. As far as they are concerned, we are 'undesirables' if not Untermenschen. Yes, we know what happens then. 1 • Reply•Share ›

105 One of my favourite activities is to ask Church of Environtologists to identify for me someone who 'denies' the climate exists. Then I usually ask if they're really talking about the scientific method and questions about the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Then I usually start calling them fucktards, or some variant thereof. It's the little things that keep me going. Posted by: Lurking Canuck at May 06, 2014 10:33 AM (NF2Bf) Heh. That's like whenever I'm asked if I believe in climate change, I ask on what scale because after all 10,000 years ago there were massive glaciers over much of North America and that's not even a synapse beginning to fire to make an eye blink in geological time. That usually gets me nasty faces. Then I ask what any of that has to do with pollution and clean water and finding the most efficient fuel source and not having the Chinese release heavy metals into their rivers and then people wander off. Good times, good times.

106 Chris Matthews was in a lather this morning on MJ and accidentally said something awesome. His basic point was that we need Democratic idealism and Republican efficiency. Idealism is an insidious thought process that has led to most of the worst evils in the modern world. Examples of what idealism has wrought: A glorious workers paradise of equality- 100+ million dead, billions of people forced to endure harsh authoritarianism in poverty and oppression. A thousand year empire populated by a Master Race- 6 million murdered in death camps, tens of millions of war dead. A worldwide caliphate- Terrorism, war and oppression of the worst sort. Idealism isn't something to be lauded, it's something to be reviled.

First, we're talking about people who want to be on mommy and daddy's insurance policy for all 26+ years of childhood. When they are just beginning life and the tender age of 27, it's only natural that wish leave the nest of parental support and graduate to adult responsibilities of having the government provide everything for them. Taxes too low? Of course they are! Not their taxes, mind you. All those CEOs, millionaires, and billionaires and everyone else who makes enough money to not be dependent on mom and dad to pay their bills. It's obvious, isn't it? They just want to live like everyone else (on reality TV) and have all the things that other people have (mani/ pedis 3 times a week, big houses, Ferrari's, swim up bars in their living room). They would have nice things if everyone else wasn't hoarding all the money like Scrooge McDuck! They just want a fair chance!

My wife called.  After about 2 years of harassment by her employer, they terminated her.  She just filed a formal complaint against her supervisor yesterday.  So we're lawyering up.

On the way home she got pulled over for cell phone use.  She deserved to get pulled over, but she started crying and the cop was compassionate and let her off with a warning.  So there's that.

It represents the love I may have towards my future children, if I ever so decide to have children, when i am ready of course. Not all women feel the same way I do. However, that is how I feel. Some women take their ultrasounds and bury them as a way to find closure. Some women take their ultrasounds and bring them to their temple, or burn them and scatter the ashes to the wind. It can be a grieving process after an abortion. This was not my experience so I didn't speak about it. How a women feels about her reproductive choices is unique to that woman. This is how I feel about my journey. I sincerely hope that if you go through a similar situation you will have people around you to support you no matter what your own process is. Yes, I'm being a bit circumspect, but I'm not too worried.  1) this is fairly anonymous 2) I'm not naming names.

It was basically a personal vendetta from a few very spiteful, insecure people, because my wife was getting attention for her efforts from high up in the organization. This person didn't appreciate being made to look bad compared to someone two rungs below her, so the persecution began.

Then she pushed my wife out of a acting management job to replace her with a complete dunce (read: toady).  Since then, the behavior pattern has been setting my wife up to fail, double/triple standards, bullying, intimidation, covering up institutional incompetence.

There are good people who work there, but it has been infiltrated by failed social workers with very serious psychological problems.

Again, won't mention the name, but suggest not sending any money to this world wide organization that often does disaster relief.

Hello from way down here in Sydney on a cold autumn night....heater on, electric blankie ready for me...

Not that it compares with the weather some of you experience of course

9C forecast tonight and then 19C later today

I think 9C is about 48F using the old tried and true method of calculation - double the C and add 30 gets you the Fahrenheit number

As for climate change, whatever happened to global warming???/

Maybe something to do with  the temps being stable for 17 years  perhaps?

And your dear President is a bit late jumping on the climate train - been there done that here and the previous Government lost the last election  partly because of their dreadful carbon tax...

I have a slightly different take on this Emily Letts character.

I think in her heart of hearts she's horrified at what she's done, so she's trying to spin herself into something positive and pretend like it's a good thing...which includes seeking validation via an attention whore article.

My takeaway is that things may not be quite as bad as we think.  I have a hunch her audience is plenty horrified and see her as we do.

I was so used to saying, “I’ve never had an abortion but…” While I was pregnant and waiting for my procedure, I thought, “Wait a minute, I have to use this.”" "The guy wasn’t involved in my decision." She was feeling like the odd woman out because she had never gone through what her clients go through. She didn't use contraceptives because she was "scared" of side effects (doesn't explain not using condoms). " It was my first pregnancy, and, full disclosure, I hadn't been using any kind of birth control, which is crazy, I know. I’m a sex educator, and I love talking about birth control. Before this experience, hormonal birth control scared me because of complications I’d heard about from friends — gaining weight, depression, etc. So I tracked my ovulation cycle, and I didn’t have any long-term partners. " She found out she was 2-3 weeks pregnant in NOVEMBER, could have taken an abortion pill, but chose to wait until JANUARY to get the "scarier" awake D&C procedure on video. Waited until the clump of cells had a heartbeat, a brain, and a nervous system before dismembering it ... burn in hell, Emily.

Posted by: Romeo13 at May 06, 2014 11:05 AM (84gbM) There was always multiple layers to this topic. The one which everyone likes to use to make fun of the issue is the notion that he was born in Kenya. (Which has been subsequently demonstrated to be nonsense anyway.) The reasonable portion of the topic is whether or not he constituted a "Natural born citizen" according to the standards in place in 1787 when the legislative will was codified. There is a LOT of evidence which demonstrates that he did not, not the least of which is the fact that even if he was born in the United States, he would only be a citizen by virtue of the 14th amendment, and not by "nature." It is a reasonable argument to assert that a "natural born" citizen does not owe his citizenship to a law which didn't exist in 1787.

225 Emily Lett has the same soul and the same concience as any murderer. Remember the monster who was just executed in Oklahoma(botched, right)? He and his cohorts laughed at how tough Stephanie was, that he still had to shoot her twice after raping and beating her, to kill her. People who know what they are doing is wrong and evil, but do it anyway have accepted the devil as a master. They then try to justify it by whatever rationale their sick little brain can come up with, including humming and pretending to give birth. Posted by: Jen at May 06, 2014 10:45 AM (qcDPE) Well, at least we Damn Okies killed Lockett, who rightly feared his lawful execution would hurt his nasty cowardly ass. Locket whined and fought the procedure by damaging the veins in his arms to make them unusable. He was also so violent and obstreperous that he had to be tazed. Yeah, it was "botched". Letts is free to be crazy and murder as many unborn infants as she chooses by tortuous dismemberment. It would be a good thing if men would avoid her nasty vajayjay so she does not get pregnant again, although, she is so crazy, she would probably go to a sperm bank and use donated sperm to get pregnant and then do another abortion.

I believe they do that to compensate from their overriding lack of principle. Posted by: Captain Hate at May 06, 2014 11:17 AM (qiiIB) I think the primary reason for much Republican backlash against "the Birthers" (Among which I count myself) is that they pragmatically regarded it as a losing issue which would gain them no votes, and smacked of sore-loser syndrome. That, and the fact that McCain had the appearance of having a bigger "Natural born citizen" problem than did Obama, and it just wouldn't do to attract attention to the issue because it might negatively impact McCain as well. I know "Hot Air" led off the denouncement of "Birthers", then others (Including Ace and Co) took it up from there. But yeah, the Country Club Republicans really don't have much animosity for the Left Wing's Glitterati of Rich/Attractive people. They like their social circles, of which these people are a prominent component.

Look at some of the comments posted on that story.  Example:

"...91% of Americans want thorough back-ground checks and most Americans are appalled at the grip the NRA has on the Republican Party. But the GOP refuses to do anything about it - the NRA is firmly entrenched in their Campaign funding.

We want the Republicans out but with Fox News and their Obama hate and lies, it's hard to get the facts out there, especially when you're dealing with idiot America. Education is an important thing to waste, just look at the US. Thanks Bush!"

You'd think that the Republicans and George Bush run the fucking country and the NRA is allowed to pass any law it wants to.  I suppose they also think we all walk around with six-shooters on our hips and all of our cities are like the old west with shootings in the street near every day.

And it's us who are called "idiots".  You just cannot make this stuff up.  Good grief.

398 I meant for the "born in Canada" theory. Posted by: Colorado Alex at May 06, 2014 12:32 PM (tIvOy) Well, the first is that Stanley Ann was known to be in Seattle in August of 1961. We have both the record of her enrolling at the University, and the testimony of her Friend Susan Blake. Susan Blake says she specifically remembers the date because she had to return from her Vacation in Santa Monica because of all the Forest fires going on there in August of 1961. Beyond that, her Aunt (Father's Sister, Aunt Eleanor Belle Dunham Berkebile) lived in Canada at this time, and during this era it was a normal practice to send embarrassing pregnancies off to live with relatives, and this was the only Female Relative with whom she could have lived. Ann Showed up at Susan Blake's house in August of 1961 driving a car. Where did Stanley Ann get the car? Now who's to say the pregnancy was embarrassing? Well, All of Madelyn Dunham's coworkers who said they had never known Madelyn had a grandchild until they heard about Barack Obama running for the US Senate (Back in the early 2000s.) Madelyn never talked about him, never had a picture of him, and her coworkers were completely unaware of him till he became famous. Not the behavior of a Grandmother who was proud of a grandchild. Perfectly consistent with a Grandmother who was embarrassed by the fact that her daughter had carried an interracial pregnancy to term. Also, it has been pointed out that none of the airlines at that time would have allowed a woman with a two week old infant to fly because the air pressure change would have ruptured the babies developing eardrums. There is other stuff, but it's been awhile since I looked at this. Again, it's all circumstantial, although I do recall seeing what is claimed to be a Canadian name change document for a Barack Obama, though I put little credibility in it.

In the old days you just filled your address and signed it and looked the address up asked you your name. More fraud protection stuff now.

415 Trying to work on my list of When My Daughter Starts Getting Global Warming Propaganda At School points. This doesn't get to 'weather is not climate' or 'where does CO2 come from?' or 'why would people lie about it' or anything of that nature yet... 1) CO2 constitutes 0.0004ish of the atmosphere. Human activity produces some fraction of that CO2. 2) CO2 is a greenhouse gas. Higher CO2 levels will, all else being equal, contribute to higher temperatures. 3) All the numbers claiming 2-5 degree C temperature rise from increased CO2 come from software models. 4) These software models have mostly been the products of nonprofessional programmers noodling with code and often lack basic data sanity checks. 5) These models long ignored or made unwarranted assumptions about basic atmospheric processes (e.g cloud feedback assumed to be positive) 6) These models have proven incapable of accurate hindcasting (when fed known historical inputs they could not reproduce the actual measured conditions for that time period) 7) When you strip out the unsubstantiated positive feedbacks and stick to the known chemical properties of CO2, sensitivity comes in at half the low end of the alarmists' claims (around 1.2 degrees C warmer for doubling of CO2). It is impossible accurately to claim the Earth's climate is some amount warmer, to a fraction of a degree's accuracy, than at some point hundreds or thousands or milllions of years ago. 9) Historical land and sea temperature records prior to the satellite data sets and Argo buoys are nowhere near accurate enough or comprehensive enough to make such claims. 10) They come from proxies, manually-recorded thermometers often surrounded by human activity and moved without notice, airports (concrete lakes), buckets dipped in the ocean by passing ships, etc. 11) The error range of such readings is large, and the coverage obviously limited to that tiny part of the globe where people regularly went. 12) Many alarmist analyses attribute temperatures in large regions to measurements taken nowhere near that location (e.g. Hansen's huge Arctic gridcells that really measure Canada, Steig's Antarctic paper of a couple years back) 13) Proxy data is even worse, records routinely trusted to a frightening degree of accuracy by alarmists as historical temperature proxies include tree rings (think of all the OTHER things that affect tree growth), and sediments and other types of core samples (date accuracy measured at best in decades, often in centuries.) 14) The only surface temperature data accurate enough to have predictive value extends back to 1969 (the satellite data sets.) 15) The only subsurface ocean temperature data accurate enough to have predictive value extends back not much over 10 years (the Argo floats.)

416 Good article: @xbradtc 32m Mattis-Veterans aren’t Victims http://wp.me/pgUFE-93z In a speech last month, Mattis tackled a concern that is on the minds of a number of combat leaders: A public that wants to paint veterans as victims and why that is potentially damaging to the fighting spirit of America’s warriors. “I would just say there is one misperception of our veterans and that is they are somehow damaged goods,” Mattis said. “I don’t buy it.” “If we tell our veterans enough that this is what is wrong with them they may actually start believing it,” he said during questions after a speech at the Marines’ Memorial Club in San Francisco. … “While victimhood in America is exalted I don’t think our veterans should join those ranks,” Mattis said.

420 Yay MO! Missouri House Enacts Historic Tax Cuts Overrides Gov. Jay NixonÂ’s Veto The Missouri House of Representatives overrode Democratic Gov. Jay NixonÂ’s veto of SB 509, which will give Missouri taxpayers broad-based relief. The state Senate overrode the governorÂ’s veto on Monday. According to an Americans for Tax Reform press release: This vote to override the governorÂ’s veto will provide $620 million in tax relief for hard working Missourians. The legislation includes a reduction of the top income tax rate from 6.0 percent to 5.5 percent and a 25 percent exemption from income taxes for small businesses. The latter is a provision to help Missouri small businesses compete with Kansas small businesses which pay no state income tax. Yesterday the state senate voted 23 to 8 to override the governorÂ’s veto. http://tinyurl.com/o8nx8nc

It was assumed that the Father is Frank Marshall Davis, and he paid off Barack Obama Sr so that his good friend "Stanley Dunham" wouldn't figure out that he was diddling Stanley Ann. There is some circumstantial evidential support for that theory as well. Frank was really into young white girls, and Ann used to hang out at his house quite a lot. The Canadian theory does not preclude this scenario.

451 419 Its pretty obvious that Obama qualified to be be President. He's on his way to finishing up his second term, so who the fuck cares where he was born. Posted by: MTF at May 06, 2014 12:59 PM (LISuA) I have a different take. It's pretty obvious that mechanisms which should be in place to guarantee compliance with Constitutional law, aren't working. Apparently no one is empowered to check the qualifications of candidates, not even the Secretaries of the States. (Except of course when they have done so in the past.) It is EXACTLY like vote ID, but it is the flip side of it. I will point out that you can't solve a problem until you recognize it as a problem. Anchor babies are another aspect of this issue that is malignantly altering our nation because we refuse to solve the equation for the larger principle. No child of a foreign national should be allowed to become an American citizen without deliberate consent from We the People. Even the British gave up that stupidity in the 19th century.

Posted by: Mike Hammer at May 06, 2014 10:57 AM (aDwsi) I just read that story (about the dog) at HA after seeing this comment. How sweet and sad. My puppy passed away recently as well, on Easter Sunday. He was a Pemrboke welsh corgi and the happiest, friendliest dog ever. But he was 14 and a half, and even though he had been nothing but healthy, age just caught up with him finally. He had degenerative myelopathy, which is hereditary and there is no cure. After struggling with his back legs for a good six months or so, he finally lost all use of them and the ER vet said his front legs would be next and it would be soon. If not for that, he was still the picture of health and could easily have lived a good while. Broke my heart to have him put to sleep, and it's the only time I've ever seen my husband cry. And my kids, of course, were a mess. Maybe it's silly, because he was a dog, but his passing has left quite a hole in our lives.

I believe that if anyone gets 40%, he wins. If nobody does, I guess it doesn't matter what the vote total or margin is, just the top two run against each other, is that right? Is there any way we could get a 3-way runoff?

They aren't breaking any laws, and their child is being given American Citizenship because so many people insist on wrongfully interpreting the 14th amendment. It was never intended to apply to non-citizen aliens who did not intend to live here and become citizens.

500 @444 - you won't reason someone out of it on that basis. Not everyone who's bought into the CAGW crap has done so as a card-carrying member of a Maurice Strong conspiracy. Some honestly believe in the science of what they're doing. Some are environmental ideologues happy to bend the science to stay on-message. Some have just gotten hooked on the grant-funding gravy train. Some just want to be part of the good people and be able to shake their fingers at the bad people. In the political world you have some who are soft-headed and willing to believe what they're told, it's a tool for control and taxation, all the better if you can get inside people's heads and them to put themselves in chains.

Posted by: JEM at May 06, 2014 09:31 AM (o+SC1)

501 @511 - it's the one-party state. The Democrats are basically running wild. Every now and then they step on their own pecker, as with the recent SCA 5 situation - the party, driven by certain minority interests, thought they'd put a measure on the ballot that, if passed by the voters, would codify racial preferences in state hiring and school admissions into the state Constitution. This was kept remarkably low-key, and didn't show up in the press much. But it did get around the Asian community, for whom this was regarded as an existential threat, and a few Asian Democrats who'd actually voted for the bill had to backtrack in a hurry lest their constituents feed them their shoes. Even if it'd gotten onto the ballot it'd have to have been approved by the voters, and my guess is it'd have probably failed, but the fact that the current Dem leadership would even try this illustrates how out of control this state is.
