I know some of you are Levin fans, as am I. Normally listen to his podcasts on my morning commute. Haven't listened since he is away for the holidays.
I have been enjoying the AoSHQ podcasts on the way to work. If any of the Horde has not tried them out I suggest giving them a shot.

It is funny to hear folks actually verbally beating up on Gabe though.
I think some of the Horde would be good guests. It's not like the FCC is gonna pull the plug on a podcast.

Speaking of Kindle, the Kindle app on my Android stops working when it updates. Amazon and Google both know about it but nothing is being done to fix it. I have the auto updates turned OFF, but today it updated!!!! I'd like to find whoever is responsible for this mess and kick them in the nuts until their eyes bleed.

well well... from yahoo news this morning:
The Supreme Court has thrown a hitch into President Barack Obama's new health care law by blocking a requirement that some religion-affiliated organizations provide health insurance that includes birth control.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor decided late Tuesday night to block implementation of the contraceptive coverage requirement, only hours before portions of the law would have gone into effect on New Year's Day.
Sotomayor acted on a request from an organization of Catholic nuns in Denver, the Little Sisters of the Poor Home for the Aged. Its request for an emergency stay had been denied earlier in the day by a federal appeals court.
Sotomayor gave government officials until 10 a.m. EST Friday to respond to her order.

Happy New Year everyone - 2nd January.here in Sydney and a warm night
Lucky me - 5 weeks off work as I accumulated too many days somehow so we have a few things planned - cricket Test on Friday (5th Test Aussies v Poms), 2 nights in town next week when we act like tourists - we do this once a year - it's nice to act as if we don't live in Sydney! .
One thing that I'm puzzled about - those people packed into Times Square had no food or drink and couldn't go to a toilet for 12 hours? Or does everyone arrive just in time for that ball dropping thingie? Or do New York people have great bladder control?
Around Sydney Harbour if you want a good view of the fireworks you have to be in place hours before -.last time we went years ago we were there at 11.30am - to grab a place for our picnic blanket, chairs etc - and we left the next day at 1am!.
Finally a computer question - strange behaviour noted on laptop - .delete button doesn't work, and when I highlight to delete a full stop appears and it won't be deleted!

I'll be the first to admit we haven't been all that strong in the recent years, but we still get the prominent bowl bids because of our massive fan support. Doesn't always mean you're going to get a good game.

No IRS
No HHS
No TSA
No SSDI
No DoE (Energy AND Education)
No EBT
No Obamacare, no Medicare, privatize Social Security, no entitlements at all.
No fucking government in my fucking life.
Just a few of my aspirations for 2014. As commie and serial philanderer John Lennon says, "You may say I'm a dreamer / But I'm not the only one."

I knew a kid in High School that got his neck snapped in a car wreck, left him paralyzed. Docs said he'd never use his arms again, but he did. Then they said he'd never get out of bed, but he did. Then they said he'd never walk again. But he did. Still needs his sticks to this day, but he walks.

"When they told me I had cancer and that I'd be dead in six months, I thought... 'Why me?' Then, when they told me my cancer was in remission and that I should have a normal life span, I thought... 'Why me?'"
