Full poll data here.
Some points: His approval is 41%. Usually you don't get these numbers adding up to 100%, but here you do (59% + 41%). In addition, they say 1% are undecided.
Of the 59% who disapprove of Obama, 36% strongly disapprove.
On the other hand, his positive rating, such as it is, has fewer people strongly approving of him -- only 14%.
He's also underwater on personal favorability, 42% favorable, 51% unfavorable.
Another poll, the Morning Consult, which is a health care tracking poll, finds that undecided voters are slightly opposed to Obamacare... and when I say "slightly," I mean they oppose Obamacare more than they support it by a whopping 40% margin.
Among those who describe themselves as likely but undecided 2014 voters, Obamacare approval sits at a robust (25/65) ...
Overall, likely voters oppose Obamacare by 53 to 41.
It's a two-edged sword, though, this "40% underwater on Obamacare among the undecideds" stat.
If so many of them disapprove of Obamacare -- 65% disapprove, to only 25% approving -- what the hell makes them undecided as to which party they'll be voting for in November?
It's could that they disapprove of Obamacare but don't really care all that much about it, in the same way that your neighbor may disapprove of the way the zoning commission is treating you but he's also not going to lose sleep over it. It's not his problem. And a large chunk of the population may see Obamacare as a problem, but a problem, so far, affecting only other people -- people with employee health care plans may not have yet heard that Obamacare is gunning for them, too.
Of course that might be because Obama has delayed various parts of the law that affect those with employer-provided insurance, until after the elections, at least.
It could also be that people just don't like the GOP for other reasons.

It could also be that people just don't like the GOP for other reasons.
for instance:
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) pressed the economic case for overhauling the nationÂ’s immigration system on Wednesday, saying that reform is inevitable and necessary to boost growth in the United States.
boost federal taxes more likely.

Some of the disapproval on ObamaCare could be attributed to some people wanting it to do more, or the fact that Obama has essentially gutted it until after the elections.
The polls need to ask in regards to ObamaCare - repeal/replace, fix, or leave/implement. But outside of Rass I don't see polster doing that.

I had an epiphany the other day which explains almost all the Democrats actions: They want to do to ALL Americans, what they've done to Black Americans.
Once I realized that, their opposition to school choice (keep them uneducated) and being so proud of having 26 year olds on their parents insurance (encouraging dependance) makes perfect sense.
They cannot physically enslave us, but try to make us so dependent on the Gov, that there's not much difference.

Pollster: Do you approve or disapprove of the President's performance?
Joe Schmoe: Fuck him. Fuck him. Fuck him. Fuck him. Fuck him. Fuck him.
Pollster: Citizen wants to have sex with Obama. I'll put that down as approve.

<MLK jr voice over> ...a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
<Obama's myriad failures in text stories in the background>
<New voice over> Our president has failed us. His policies have failed, as has the test of the content of his character. He made us promises he never meant to keep and we are all paying for those falsehoods.
The president's allies will tell you that if you judge Obama by his failures, and not the color of his skin, you are a racist.
The question is, will you Barack and his allies to bully you, or will you stand with MLK jr's dream? In America we should judge men and women by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Polls are valuable when they are this clear. People won't give, or won't give as much money, or maybe even give to the other guy based on these numbers.
Corporations especially pump money into the bank accounts of people they think will have power; an impotent president doesn't have power, and won't attract as much money.

Meh. Hasn't mattered, won't matter (approval numbers). Combo of national degradation, no real press, pathetic opposition party, collapsed institutions.
Besides, the GOP will never recover from the damage done by the shutdown. You know, that damage. The one I always hear about here on these threads.
And the indifference of most to the plight of some, while no novelty or surprise, pretty much cements my lack of interest in these humans living around me. They're not citizens, and this isn't really much of a country any more. Just people living around each other.
Then again, all this can turn on a dime. I'm thinking amnesty might just turn the tables and fix all the damage of the last 5 years, as well as the damage that preceded that ...

CBD, I get what you're saying about polls and fund-raising, but my observation is not about electoral results, but the frayed connection between those results and actual governance outcomes. As in - a GOP Senate, an augmented House majority, may well yield ..... zip, bupkis.
At this close range, and things ongoing, very hard to sort out the causes and effects here. We have a very weak opposition party, a self-sustaining rapacious political "elite" + public sector (to include the state/local and law enforcement joe schmoes), an ignorant/misguided/racist/delusional majority in the electorate, and nearly collapsed institutions (lawless rogue judiciary, extremist fascist academy, corrupted/arrogant science, even a military with mostly compromised miniature time-serving "leadership"). Chicken and egg, which came first, who knows. They have a synergy now that I don't see being broken.
Certainly not by a few elections and rotated committee chairmanships.

Do you know what I think is hilarious about that? Because the hard left don't get every single thing they want, they think the Republicans are always winning. Seriously!
Nevermind the "ratchet" always always ALWAYS goes their way. The simple fact that we still have Corporations is enough for a large plurality of them to think we're in a Fascist Oligarchy.

Bulleit Bourbon is excellent.
However, I would suggest trying a rye whiskey for your Manhattans. Rye is spicier and a bit leaner than bourbon, and makes a delightful drink.
Bulleit rye is my favorite among the reasonably priced ones....but Michters is superb (and their bourbon is great too).

And yes, a few of the more extravagantly ridiculous judicial nominees may be blocked by a GOP Senate (may be). Possibly.
OK, great.

Then! One hand clapping. He pauses at the podium in disbelief, waiting for the waves of applauding devotion... then saunters off, probably with tears coursing his facial mole, and weeps on ValJar's shoulder.
Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.
He is more than a lame duck. He is a shriveled-up hummingbird in formaldehyde. The pants are down around his ankles with the Emperor of Empty Suits. Even in Europe he is a buffoon. And there was another late night skit about Obowowcare. He is a parody of himself.
If the world were not so scary I would enjoy it more. But I take what I can.

Thanks. I've never had rye. I do like my manhattan on the sweeter side, not sure about the spicy thing but I'd try it.. I couldn't believe how many bourbons there are out there when I was at the store today. I'm a novice at drinking bourbon though I do know a lot of info from my dad who is a seasoned bourbonist.

Here, have some bourbon.
After pouring something stingy on it. Peroxide? Meh..., not so stingy. Staples though.
Isopropyl alcohol. He said that he didn't even feel the staples, they went in that easily. We highly recommend the surgical stapler kit on Amazon. It's pretty damn awesome.
