Well, for one thing, if you've ever thought, "Gee, I sure wish Mr. Paul Ryan would come over here and sodomize the hate out of me," have I got great news for you.

Oh, and Reince Priebus will be joining in as well. You lucky ducky.

Virtually everyone in politics understands that amnesty is a terrible thing for the GOP except the actual GOP.

Wendy Davis calls herself "The Wrong Texas Gal." She actually said that. (Well, she didn't mean that, but she said it.)

Speaking of sleeping around, one third of all people have "revenge sex" or rebound sex after a break-up.

Sounds low.

It's difficult to explain exactly why the Washington Post refused Ezra Klein's request for $10,000,000 per year to run a new explanojournalism website. Well, it's not that difficult -- Wonkblog got less hits than this blog, and we didn't have the Washington Post feeding us traffic.

MSNBC has gone full... well, MSNBC has gone full MSNBC.


And uh... I know there are some fans of the ancient, never-quite-as-funny-as-you-wanted-it-to-be sketch comedy show The State. So I'll link this... even though it's kind of sad to see people you used to think were funny trying to be funny and not being funny.

Most of the cast reunited on The Nerdist, whatever that is. I guess a Nerdy Game Show. (Oh, correction: It's called @midnight, hosted by @theNerdist. Yeah I don't really care about the Nerdist.)

In one of the earlier threads, an extended excerpt of Davis's comments was posted.

Her new applause line for friendly Democratic audiences is that her critics are attacking what Davis refers to as "my family's truth".

That sounds pretty flipping absurd on the face of it. But do remember that heap big squaw Elizabeth Warren's indignant reply to her having posed as a Cherokee was that her critics were "attacking my family's story" or "attacking my family heritage".

And the heap big squaw is now safely counting wampum in the U.S. Senate. So as bullshit as that particular line of defense is, it can work and has worked. Wouldn't be at all surprised to find former Warren media advisors having been urgently flown in by private jet to help out the Davis campaign.

We broke up, due to suspicions of infidelity, I left town for other parts and to get away from the scene, she began (or continued I should say) her stroll through the phone book for sex partners while I was gone.

312 We used to have a bunch of kittehs on the farm. Yearly round up for the old snip snip and vaccinations. Pretty much all were hand raised as we would bring momma inside when she was about to pop. Raised the young'ins up with dogs, the stock, and what ever was around. Gave them away when they were old enough. Good times. Puppies too, same deal. Will have a dog again when I can. Have had 2 GSD's both died in the line of duty, one drowned one shot. Miss them.

Remember Michael Steele, Priebus' predecessor? He took a great deal of heat because of his lavish living; e.g., expensive hotel bills, traveling expenses, entertainment costs, etc.?  There's a reason for that, and it wasn't because Steele was especially corrupt or anything. The reason is that Steele's fundraising strategy focused on targeting a few, exceedingly well-to-do donors rather than attempting any kind of grassroots, bottom-up approach. Why? Because hitting up a few rich zillionaire businessmen in Vegas is easier than making a mass appeal to the base, which would the target of any grassroots effort. For their part, the big money donors love the influence their money buys them in the GOP.  These money men love being kingmakers, although it should be noted that their favored candidates have failed miserably in two successive presidential elections. It should also be noted that these same big money donors love them some of that sweet, cheap labor that millions of suddenly legalized formerly illegal immigrants represent. They also hate them some Tea Party conservatism, view social issues as a distraction from the economic matters that matter most to them since they're, well, businessmen, and are deeply embarrassed by what they consider a knuckle-dragging, bitterly clinging base.

 

So all McCain, McConnell, et al are doing is currying favor with the big money donors who effectively control what we call the GOP Establishment. For all intents and purposes, they are the GOP Establishment.

Unlimited data plan yes, 3G/4G depends on connection (it's a 'droid so it does get the 4G). The jetpack just may be one of the things on the phone bill reduction plan, I only use it occasionally anyway (mostly for AoS'ing while stuck in skating rink hell).

Yeah, I'll probably just leave the jetpack in the bag for a while and see if the phone can handle the load. I'll have to check battery drain and see if it will maintain a charge when it is plugged into the computer's USB port as well. The jetpack will, but I don't know if the phone will.

519 474 Nip, out here (about 30 miles NW of the City) a lot of snow and ice melted on the pavement today, as it was sunny and got to 32 degrees for a high. Went out at 3:00 for a tore run and came right home as it's now 18 out and all that glowbull warmening is now black ice. Tomorrow afternoon it's supposed to be 42 out, should help a lot. In the 50s Friday, it'all be gone by afternoon Friday. Major problem with the roads is the ice after melt and refreeze tonight and all the cars that were abandoned on the Highways.
