Oh My: "I Have Never Fought the Word 'Genius' When People Have Said That About Me"
— Ace

First of all, before I link it, do yourself a favor and guess who said it.

It's not unguessable. You might not guess it, but when you see the answer, you'll say "Oh of course."

It's not Obama. I'll get you off that particular trail so you have a better chance.

I will also give you some other quotes to aid you in your Guessing Game:

Amplifying his remarks about not fighting the "Genius" label, this person reported that he was just as mesmerized by his brilliance as you are:

“But what it is is instinct and a set of skills that are working so fast you don’t know they’re working.”

He also has a verdant brain.

"I have a leafy brain, according to the theory of the leafy brain. I associate things that many people never put together."

The person opining on his genius leafy brain also believes he has a lot of self-mastery and rarely gives in to anger.

"Your anger will cool into hardened passionate insight if you wait a day. Most of the things that make me angry, I try to let them sit. The heat that remains will be sufficient. The stuff that evaporates is the stuff that would have simply offended or made it histrionic."

To avoid putting you on the wrong track, I will tell you this person is insane to believe that he avoids anger, but it's completely inevitable that he should believe this about himself.

Okay, that's plenty of information. Now guess this douchebag.

Via Hot Air, Newsbusters just made me smile.

24 So, you're saying Olberdouche is unaware of, or unable to recognize, sarcasm when it is deployed.

Because that's the only manner in which his name and the word "genius" would ever exist within the structure of a single sentence.

26 Sign of the state of the culture war that Olbermann can still work for ESPN and NBC. Spent a decade as a viciously crude partisan hack spewing daily hate at half the country through a spittle-flecked rage ... then went back to sports news like nothing happened. Compare that to when Limbaugh tried to buy a minority stake in an NFL franchise and was blackballed.

Beck was one of the rare ones who would say something truly cutting and mean -- and Fox booted him for it. At Fox, Beck never recovered from the time he said he thought Obama just didn't like white people. MSNBC hosts accuse all Repubs of hating black people almost daily, and get promoted for it.

126 Ukraine is inherently unstable at this point. The ruling govt is supported by the ethnic Russian minority and ethnic Ukrainians that Putin buys off. But Kiev is geographically surrounded by ethnic Ukrainians. The ethnic Russians are in the east. So the ruling class is in the position of being a minority ruling over a hostile majority with the capital set deep in the ethnic majority's territory.

218 I guessed that other insufferable asshole and former Enron advisor, Krugman.

Who isn't a genius, just a repulsive jerk.

And I'm deeply concerned that retardates occupy seemingly almost every critically-important diplomatic position in the Obama administration.

220 Special Commentary. for extremely large values of "special." - for some reason I recall Keith tap-types at some high words per minute rate using a total of two fingers. Because of the "genius" - I guess. _

I'll have to look into this...

having actually read all the comments up to this point...

do you doubt that olbermoron has always had assistants and interns who told him over and over that he was just so damn brilliant..?

do you remember the comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes"? Calvin in first grade couldn't come up with the answer to a problem like 6-5=? but he was quite certain he was a genius. I don't know if he thought there were 57 states.

if the plural of leaf is leaves, then is it unfair to say that olbermann's brain leaves when he opens his mouth?

Mike at 205: to say the least. Obama is so brilliant that he is too bored by problems that a cray supercomputer couldn't solve. I would also like someone to ask Obama (re 163) "you said 'There's no doubt that there is some folks who just really dislike me because they don't like the idea of a black president' -- do you think there's some folks who didn't Sarah Palin because they don't like the idea of a conservative Republican woman?"

and yes, Mr Brilliant President, "there is some folks..."

236 Leafy Brain Fungus Tremella foliacea is a fairly common fungus that apparently grows on dead and fallen branches, consuming other fungi feeding off the decay. Yes. Yes, this makes perfect sense applied to Keith Olbermann.

237 Sevastopol...

Been there a few times too.
I spent an afternoon once on the bridge looking at the Black Sea fleet tied up forward of us.
Beautiful looking ships at first.
But like I said, an afternoon of looking at them through the big eyes.
Foot by foot.
Then you notice things like only one shore power cable going to a ship that should need six to eight if everything is in operation.like air conditioning and ventilation in August. Comm gear,  and stuff like that.
Then I noticed every porthole open, and little fans sitting on boards outboard of the portholes trying to cool the spaces.
And once I spotted that, it became obvious that the freshly painted ships only were painted on the side facing us, and the rest of the ship was in disrepair.

Rubber boots on joints deeply cracked and painted over with black paint to appear like fresh rubber. Things like that.

But good food by the Ukrainians.
