— Ace What a stunt. What an idea.
Let it be copied a thousand times.
Will it be? Well, dramatizing the news is generally a TV news imperative. They like moving pictures, don't they? But I don't know if too many people in the news business want to dramatize (and thereby increase interest in) the effect of Obamacare on the typical American worker.
Here's hoping, though.
This is a really amazing report.
MSNBC just tweeted that racists would "bust nut" while watching this, then they apologized and said the responsible party had been fired and also promoted to host of their new weekend show.

This is comedy (in the operatic tragic sort of way). They've made it where people can get insurance, they just can't get care. So many people will have totally free coverage through Medicaid, but so many doctors don't even take Medicaid patients. People like these, might be able to pay their premiums, but they won't be able to get sick because they won't be able to come up with the deductibles.

If people can't afford health insurance, if companies can't afford health insurance for their employees, and the free government hospitals have an eighteen hour wait for emergency room care, and weeks or months waiting list for procedures, what will people do?

25 So, supposedly Pittsburgh was named by a Scotsman, which is why there is an h on the end (like Edinburgh).
Named after Wiliam Pitt, British PM in the late 1700s. Originally called Fort Pitt then Pittsborough. Eventually that turned into Pittsburgh.

Practically speaking, given the average American's ability to manage his or her budget, this would be a terrible idea that would turn so many into criminals.
Much simpler, and probably implementable merely by an executive order or directive, would be requiring the IRS to thank you for your (involuntary) contribution, including the dollar amount, at least annually, at the squaring of your taxes.

Which brings up a pet question of mine:
What the holy mother of heck is going ON with kids these days that they are requiring such colossal use of the medical system?
Every parent I talk to reels off a list of doctor visits that sounds like the kid is already a retired grandparent on Medicare getting ready to kick the bucket.
Individual kids have spent more time in the pediatrician's office by age ten than my entire goddamned NEIGHBORHOOD full of kids had by that age, combined. And we were not shrinking violets in my childhood. We were "free range". Very free ranging. We got hurt. Sometimes badly. We got sick. Occasionally seriously so.
Our playgrounds alone would scare the living shit out of any modern school principal, who if transported back in time would have insisted on their instant removal. Slides! Tall slides! Really tall! With ladders! And no side guards!
Whereas these kids who seldom leave the house save for "play dates" in ultrasupervised, relentlessly safe and controlled environments where it's barely possible to even skin a knee, much less fracture a skull, seem to be at the doctor half the week. What is going on here? Adult hypochondria by proxy?

I say ignore Obama's illegitimate laws, ignore Obama and his democrat lackeys.

Same here, there once was a time when you could take that $345 a month and buy something like a classic car or an airplane, have it paid for in couple years and have something worth value. But thanks to the fucks in Washington the economy is so bad nothing material increases in value anymore.

It was the guy the media told you could not "relate" to you. Hint: "relate" does not equal "love". An honorable man does not have to BE you to LOVE you, you poor fool, but a con man, to the extent he can love at all, does.

For me, it just seems like nothing I do on the federal level does a damn bit of good. I write letters to my senators and congresscritters and get nothing but form letters back assuring me that they are sympathetic with my concerns as they do whateverthefuck they wanted to anyway. Vote out that asshole Boxin' Bob Etheridge and get maybe a halfway decent congresscritter and get gerrymandered out of her district anyway. The new guy (George Holding) seems to be OK, I guess (for all you Hunger Game fans, I'm in the newly created District 13). I'm at the point where I think what f'n difference does it make anyway, I'll vote for the local guys and whatever happens on the federal level is gonna happen anyway.

Leaving the company plan to go govt plan may not help them even with the subsidies. Those govt plans have huge deductibles too.
In the report they don't really talk about the employer's portion of the employees healthcare that he pays either. So its even worse than indicated. Eventually he will cancel and pay them more (but not enough) which is the real plan of obamacare.

*Fine* by me.
I don't have kids, I don't have any pre-existing or chronic health conditions(yet)so... until the tax fine tax whatever the fuck it is, reaches a significant percentage of what I could expect to pay out in premiums, deductibles, and copays in one year (should Wiley Coyote ever manage to drop that anvil on my head) it makes no financial sense for me to jump on this merry-go-round.
And I'm not one of the 20-something "invincibles" either.
I'm a very fortunate (healthwise)gal, who signed up for an affordable and sensible CAT-HSA plan a good 5 years ago when she saw 40 yrs. old on the horizon and all it's concomitant premium hikes.
The fact that I had to drop it when the economy shit the bed makes no nevermind.
The plan that I had, that worked for me, is illegal now, under Obamacare.

Journalists in the US are selected for bias, laziness, low IQ and credulousness. They are almost to a man worthless... which is why this seems so damn shocking to see. Most reporters will not venture into a small business for the same reason Hollywood will not make a movie about how bad life was behind the Iron Curtain. It is not the narrative they want to present. It is instead reality.
