How to Ruin Your Life, Part II

In which WRM describes an anti-plan for a happy, prosperous, productive life.

In the meantime, young people, here's some more advice on how to ruin your life: Enroll in a college you can't afford. Take really easy, fun courses. Don't worry about marketable skills. Blame society for the consequences (unemployment) of your attitude problem. Then demand the government (or your parents) bail you out.

...If you follow this recipe faithfully, Via Meadia promises that you will achieve all the unhappiness you want.  And don't worry; anytime you feel sad and blue, just read some "lifestyle" journalism in the Boston Globe.  It will be sure to cheer you up.

The Irish National Sport: Fighting Hurling

And it seems to be what soccer could have been before they decided that using your hands in any way might lead to scoring and be unfair to sissies.

Hurling! The Irish national game. No protective gear, except a helmet. Then again, the helmet has only been mandatory since 2010. No names on the shirts. Played for pride only; no professional Hurling teams exist. The pitch is huge; about 150 yards by 100.  It's an ancient game, predating Christianity by as many as 1000 years. You try to strike the ball through the goal posts to score. Over the crossbar is a point; under the bar where the goalie lurks is worth three. You can't pick the ball off the ground, carry it in your hand for more than four strides, or throw the ball for a score. You can't pull on a jersey, trip, or push your opponent.

Cisgender Allies and Gallia Cisalpina

All the new-fangled transgender terms designed to make you commit a speech-crime are confusing - even to those on the left.

As Sonny Bunch of the Washington Free Beacon recounts, Media Matters research fellow Oliver Willis has come in for some abuse from the left for suggesting that activists should give ordinary people a break for not knowing exactly the right terms to describe transgender people. (See his Twitter feed for a sampling of the criticism.)

"I'm someone who lives and works on the left and I had to Google the term 'cisgendered' lately because I had no clue what the hell it is," he writes. Indeed, the prefixes "trans-" and "cis-" are confusing, because the former is often used as a prefix to indicate change, and the latter is almost never used at all. But in LGBT contexts, as Willis is learning, the former basically applies to anyone for whom there is a disconnect between his biological sex at birth and his gender identity, and the latter means someone for whom the two are on the same side of that darn gender binary. How to remember this? It's simple: Learn your ancient Roman provinces.

Luckily for me all those years of Latin and reading Caesar's Gallic Wars are finally paying off by letting me make an educated guess at whatever the latest tranny term du jour means.

The Presbyterian vs Jew War Is Heating Up

What's up with the Presbyterian church that they're now in the business of handing out anti-Semitic tracts?

As the Times of Israel reports, the Presbyterians' Israel Palestinian Mission Network (IPMN) has issued a "study guide" about the Middle East conflict that will forever change the relationship between the church and the Jewish people. The 74-page illustrated booklet and companion DVD entitled Zionism Unsettled was published last month for use by the church's 2.4 million members. Unlike other left-wing critiques of Israel, the Presbyterian pamphlet isn't content to register disapproval of Israeli policies and West Bank settlements or to lament the plight of the Palestinians. The booklet is a full-blown attack against the very concept of Zionism and seeks to compare Zionism to the Christian anti-Semitism that led to the Holocaust and other historical atrocities. Its purpose is to brand Israel as an illegitimate entity and to treat its American Jewish supporters as having strayed from the values of their religion.

...With regard to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, it sees only black and white. In Zionism Unsettled, the Jews have no right to Israel and no right to defend themselves. On the other hand, it rationalizes and even justifies violence against Israel.

But the argument goes further than anti-Zionism. The pamphlet actually criticizes the Catholic Church for its historic efforts at reconciliation with the Jewish people, saying the 1965 declaration Nostra Aetate that rejected the Deicide myth against the Jews "raises as many questions as it answers."

Why You Can't Always Trust Drudge Links

Because often they lead to InfoWars and paranoid bullshit link-bait.

Such ammunition is sometimes retailed as "Zombie Max," a marketing gimmick alluding to its power.

"What makes the .308 ammunition so deadly is the long range capability of the round," notes James Smith. "The ability is called ballistic coefficient, or the efficiency of a projectile in overcoming air resistance as it travels to its target. According to Speer Reloading Manual Number 13, the .308 165 grain has the highest coefficient of any hunting rifle."

Uh nope. And Bob Owens then proceeds to break down all the errors in the article one by one.

Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death (1989)

I forget how I ended up on the IMDB page but it brought back memories of watching this movie many years ago.

The government hires a feminist at the local university to track down the Piranha Women living in the uncharted Avocado Jungle (westernmost outpost is San Bernardino) to convince them to move to a reservation condo in Malibu. She hires a guide at the edge of the jungle, a male chauvinist pig, and they have many arguments about men and women as they work their way in, and eventually confront the Piranha Women.

And as a I recall the movie had some good lines, Bill Maher was actually funny, and it had nicely gratuitous Shannon Tweed toplessness.

Margo Hunt: They're an ancient commune of feminists, so radical, so militant, so left of center they... they eat their men.
Bunny: Oh, that. Well, if I like a guy, I usually start at...
Margo Hunt: They don't eat their men like that, Bunny.

29 The Presbyterian vs Jew War Is Heating Up

I wish to point out that there are a number of different Presbyterian denominations, most of which want nothing to do with this crap. The Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) was assimilated by the looney left a number of years ago and it is this denomination that's doing this.

Posted by: OregonMuse at February 12, 2014 06:57 PM (fTJ5O)

30 The PCUSA are Presbyterians in name only, and have been for many decades. They tried to get my grandfather defrocked after he started attending presbytery meetings with a tape recorder - the reason he brought the tape recorder was because they were calling him a liar when he reported what they were actually discussing at the meeting to the church at large. He and his congregation left the denomination.

104 29 The Presbyterian vs Jew War Is Heating Up I wish to point out that there are a number of different Presbyterian denominations, most of which want nothing to do with this crap. The Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) was assimilated by the looney left a number of years ago and it is this denomination that's doing this. Posted by: OregonMuse at February 12, 2014 10:57 PM (fTJ5O) 30 The PCUSA are Presbyterians in name only, and have been for many decades. They tried to get my grandfather defrocked after he started attending presbytery meetings with a tape recorder - the reason he brought the tape recorder was because they were calling him a liar when he reported what they were actually discussing at the meeting to the church at large. He and his congregation left the denomination. Posted by: Grey Fox at February 12, 2014 10:58 PM (SjuQU) PCUSA member here, an our church is in the midst of deciding whether to leave or not. When our minister got up to address the presbytery about some of the issues our church was having with the PCUSA, he was given 60 seconds. This did not go over well, and the relationship between the church and PCUSA has just gotten worse. This Sunday is the vote on whether we leave PCUSA or not. The left infiltrates these organizations driving out most of the actual believers, and once these organizations are down 60-70% in membership, they start getting their way. The PCUSA is close to being irrelevant. Grey Fox, was it the "Voices of Sophia" that they were discussing?

180 So, I'm at work this past Saturday night when in walks this woman I haven't seen since I made an egregious pass at her on a trampoline in my best friend's back yard at a party the summer after I graduated high school. We start talking, and the next thing I know, she informs me that she's harbored some kind of crush on me ever since, but she'd always been "too intimidated" by me (for some strange reason) to ever act on it.

Long story short, I have a date with her tomorrow night -- thus, hopefully ending a dry spell that began this past Halloween night. And maybe, just maybe, I'll stop being the grumpy bastard I've been for the past two weeks.

190 In the meantime, young people, here's some more advice on how to ruin your life: Enroll in a college you can't afford. Take really easy, fun courses. Don't worry about marketable skills. Blame society for the consequences (unemployment) of your attitude problem. Then demand the government (or your parents) bail you out. "So. I see you were educated at Big Ivy League School. You graduated near the top of your class with a BA in Womyn's Studies, and you're working towards your masters. That's all very impressive. I have just a few simple questions related to the job you've applied for. Can you tell me the difference between a rheostat and a potentiometer? How about a watt? Can you tell me how to get amperage rating from a listed wattage output? Here's a simple one- what's AWG? What are some of the more common automotive sizes? You have no answer for any of that? 202 Actually Drudge has always been kind of...quirky. He had a radio show for a while back in the late 90s and it was like a mash-up of Sean Hannity with Art Bell and Pat Buchanan. Posted by: Mætenloch at February 12, 2014 11:26 PM (pAlYe) Drudge said one night on that show that he was sitting on a story that was so huge, so important, it would "shake the very foundations of the country". He mentioned it maybe a couple more times, then went silent about it. Months later I called on night on a wild hair, got to the screener and told him I wanted to ask about the huge story. I got on. Drudge knew what I was going to ask. I asked about the story, and he said that it was "still out there" but he wanted to work on it some more. I pointed out that months had passed, and if the story was so important as to shake the foundations of the country, the people deserved to know as much as he knew at the time. He didn't care much for that and cut it off pretty quick. Never heard about the big story again.

214 I would call it The Episcopal Model Posted by: Mike Hammer at February 12, 2014 11:34 PM (aDwsi) Yet, the media acts like these churches are filled every Sunday and have the membership that they had 50 years ago. These churches are shells of their former selves, and the "non affiliated" churches are the ones that are exploding with growth. 15 years ago a group splintered off from the big local Episcopal church. They started meeting in a private schools auditorium for their services. They raised money to build a new building. 10 years ago they built it. 5 years ago they built an new sanctuary onto the building that was double the size of the original building. They have 3 services every Sunday and are packed. The Episcopal Church they broke away from is full of blue haired ladies and they actually redid their sanctuary so that it seats a lot less. They now have 2 services a Sunday down from 4 25 years ago. PCUSA is bound and determined to follow this model.

I have estimate from company last year for both units, there are two apartments & weÂ’d only have to pay $1,107, & that would be worth the cost to save on oil. Bill O'Reilly did something like that once. He said he had some info that an American company's parts were showing up in the roadside IEDs that were coming into Iraq from Iran and killing American troops, IIRC. Or something like that.

He said that if the company didn't come clean and immediately take action so those parts were no longer showing up there, he would start naming names on his show.

I never heard about it again. If it was true, we deserve to know. If it was shaky info that turned into nothing, maybe he should do some more fact checking before running his mouth.

But it's stuff like that that makes it easier for me to not watch him.

Hannity- seems like a good guy, but his voice grates on me. Huckabee- For some reason he does not give me a good vibe. Not sure why. On the radio, I like Rush, but only in small increments. Dennis Miller is a favorite. Mostly because he will skitter around like a bug on a hot plate to different topics than the purely political. Loved Fred Thompson. Really miss his radio show. 328 Hi all! Just dropping in to say that perhaps the lady at the top would not have to depend on WIC if she were married to the father of her child, assuming she would pick a decent guy in the first place. (I see no mention of a father or husband on her protest sheet.) I denounce myself for being old-fashioned and judgmental. And I would add that at least she allowed her son to survive, so there's that. Goodnight everyone!

329 Apropos of absolutely nothing (well maybe that bit about trans- and cis-gendered) but I've been musing about something lately and, since I don't have a blog of my own, I thought I'd share--put my thinking on paper as it were. My wife and I got to know a young couple through church connections. We've been in their home and they've been in our home a number of times. Life took us in different directions. When we crossed paths they seemed unhappy. And then I learned the man has come out as gay and is now looking forward toward marriage to the new love of his life. Here are my questions. I understand I'm not allowed to disapprove of his sexual behaviour, nor am I permitted to call it sin. However, am I permitted to disapprove of his breaking his marriage vows? Am I allowed to disapprove of his infidelity and deserting his wife? Or is all that made irrelevant by his heroic decision to start seeking dick? In a related musing vein: if I left my wonderful life for another, younger, women I would be rightly condemned as a sleaze ball. If I left her for a man I would be praised as heroic. Seems kind of twisted to me but that also seems to be the way society functions today. Back to lurking.

I can't speak to country because I don't play it.

For teh metals, I suggest the Electro Harmonix Metal Muff, since the PiX is a solid state. An overdrive pedal is more for a tube amp, so you need a distortion pedal. The Metal Muff is the only "metal" distortion pedal that I like.

With the right settings, the Metal Muff can get tones like the bands you listed. A used one will cost you around $50 give or take.

388 Northernlurker, you bring up a bunch of really deep points. Caveat, I'm not religious, but have much respect for those who are, and actually wish I had more faith. Any man ditching his wife is a bad thing, and should be called such. But. If that man doesn't love his wife, whether because he's gay or because he's got some trim on the side, ending the marriage is probably the right decision. We can live with a lie for a day, a week, a year. But a lifetime? I just don't see it, It's a tough situation with no answer that ends in happiness for everyone. That's called life. If he's your friend, support him as best you can, neither celebrating nor condemning his decision. Because when it all shakes out, it's not your life or your business. Give advice if asked for, give support always. Same with the wife, who I'm sure is completely devastated right now.

391 331 Apropos of absolutely nothing (well maybe that bit about trans- and cis-gendered) but I've been musing about something lately and, since I don't have a blog of my own, I thought I'd share--put my thinking on paper as it were. Posted by: Northernlurker AKA Ragnar the Phillips screwdriver of Thor at February 13, 2014 12:23 AM (BLAfs) Yeah, it is kind of fucked up that if a man or woman leaves their spouse for a same sex relationship they are called brave and heroic. 411 Political Hat, it disheartens me when I see commenters here I respect saying common core is fine and all the things that keep coming out about it aren't really in it and it is up to school districts what books they buy, etc. I know these people are teachers and they are acting on their good faith understanding of it. But it is as bad as it seems and if it isn't that bad where they are yet, that just means it isn't fully implemented. Posted by: ParanoidGirlinSeattle at February 13, 2014 12:16 AM (RZ8pf) Here's the sad thing. Many of the concepts that were at the root of "Common Core" are actually decent ones if properly understood and taught competently. The problem is that "Common Core" is an excuse to push an agenda, using horrendous educational materials by teachers who don't know what the hell they are doing.

IÂ’m calling one of the few I approve of near me and try to get him transferred from Maine. The Social Worker at that place is a lazy bitch. I am going to call the administrator & I have started a long list of why he has to be transferred from ME to MA. One is that I donÂ’t expect him to live much longer. HeÂ’s been in the hospital or rehab since March 30 2013. He was born here and paid taxes, had kids, got married until 2005. I know people that wonÂ’t talk to or about him because of things heÂ’s done & I was one of them but my mother brought us up to love each other. My older brother doesnÂ’t care at all. If I say anything itÂ’s like talking to a wall, heÂ’s been dead to him since 2003, I believe. Paul made a huge mistake when he married the C word he married. He used to bring home $2000 to $3000 in cash every week in 1980s & 1990s & he would be broke by Monday. They wasted all that money on drugs, liquor, and televisions bigger than their living room, & toys for three kids.

He really loves the snow. When his owners shovel their drive and sidewalk the dog sits in the snow and tries to catch the snow tossed off the shovel in his mouth. Unfortunately for the dog, this winter the owner bought a snowblower so he can't play catch with the snow with that unlike the shovel. So now the dog mainly rolls around in the snow instead but his master took him out to run up the snow off of the court piled up on the boulevard and to toss snow chunks for the dog to catch and chase with his tail wagging a mile a minute. The postman walked by on the sidewalk on the photo's left-hand side and the happy dog greeted him and I saw from my window him and the owner talk about the dog and patting him as he jumped back up the snow mound.

487 475 Doggeh! Now I've got to go back and see what it's supposed to mean.

That's really nice. I'm kind of resigned to figuring out what the deal is with "snow" and "winter" -- having lived in California all my life, I have little experience with it. Most people kind of grouse about it, so it's nice to hear that at least one Puppeh enjoys it.

493 Posted by: shredded chi at February 13, 2014 12:56 AM (z1mje) Thank you Shredded Chi, but itÂ’s a five hour drive for them from where they live in southern MA close to RI border. It was a 2:45 minute drive from my house to hotel. Our cousin goes occasionally but he has huge financial problems, they are going to repossess both his houses in Maine & hates to go see him like that. I went for 2-3 days in October & his ex & kids went the weekend after Thanksgiving. We all work & would have to take time off to go there. I almost went week of Thanksgiving but hospital he was in at the time closed & I did not like ME & was a going to update my carÂ’s navigation system to find new hospital but maps were not updated for 2014 at the time. I know where IÂ’m going here in MA but had no clue in Maine. I believe everything is in GodÂ’s hands. He has lawyer to push for SSDI & hasnÂ’t called him. I told Paul to call lawyer & tell him itÂ’s fine to talk to me. He said he had to go toning because his roommate was driving him crazy. I wil call nursing home admin tomorrow after I speak with the one that we were happy with my mother being in. Admissions director told me MA will pay once heÂ’s been here for 24 hours. I asked his ex if they could contribute to one nightÂ’s room & she told me to ask one of his friends because he has a lot of money, He works three jobs so I know heÂ’s got tons of money!

520 I have a women's studies category under my favorites in my browser.  It is where I keep all of my porn links.

When we were hiring if anyone had even taken a women's studies class they were considered unemployable.  They don't tell you that when they are selling you on the major, but you might as well just spend the same amount of time smoking crack for all the good it will do you when you apply for a job.  At least a crackhead will be grateful for the work and their job performance will likely be about the same.  Certainly they will have a more pleasant demeanor.

Sorry for the hit and run, but my daughter gave me a time I have to get up in the morning so we can play in the snow together.  I have to admit I am pretty stoked about it too.

Actually, "dudes" do in fact do women's studies.

The assistant prof at Rutgers who teaches the instantly infamous course in "Beyonce Studies" there is apparently one of them.

I doubt that he'll do well with that career path in the long haul. Too many of the department chairs in that field (such as it is) are "womyn" with permanent paramount penis paranoia. They just won't hire the guy. Even though he is gay. Even if he goes trans and has his tallywhacker whacked.

He should have opted for LGBT-OMG-WTF studies instead. What a schmuck.

562 "When we were hiring if anyone had even taken a women's studies class they were considered unemployable."

A friend made the mistake of putting in an internal corporate e-mail that he automatically binned any resume from anyone with any "__________ Studies" on their transcript. Anything with that suffix.

HR had an absolute instant shit hemorrhage about that. He was called on the carpet and told in no uncertain terms that if he ever put anything like that in writing ever again, he would be handed his walking papers and escorted from the building by company security.

Because various legally favored classes fall under permutations of __________, and such an e-mail could be construed during discovery and trial as being premeditated bias against someone in one of those legally favored classes.

Protip: you can't be fired for stipulating that all applicants must have taken at least two classes in (fill in difficult relevant STEM discipline of your choice that "studies" types shun like the plague).

Damn, I have been thinking about this and I just don't have an answer. My pedal knowledge isn't that great, bordering on worthless,  because the eccentric spoiled rotten fuck that I am have always plugged into either gain modded marshalls, mesa rectifiers, or peavey 5150 amps. I even called a friend who I know is up right now and owns a music store to see if he had any opinions seeing he sells a ton of amps and pedals, but he didn't answer. I'm probably just the wrong dude to ask. I hate to say it, and you'll probably think I'm nuts, but my gut says you probably should switch to a different amp to nail the tones you want. In the end you would have a vastly better tone, but it kind of depends on how serious you really are about all of it. I just fucking hate pedals, I just never thought that was a good way to do things. Iasona is right though, being that its a solid state amp you really have to watch what pedal you stick in front of it. It took me forever to find a decent practice amp to stick next to the computer, and it was by sheer accident I found the right combo. Tweaking the signal chain is right up there with ball surgery.

614 I bought a Frieling French press last year and really like it. They are 100% stainless steel. http://frieling.com/product/french-presses They come in different sizes depending on how much coffee you make. I bought the second-smallest size which is perfect for making one 12 oz. mug. The smallest size would be for someone who drinks very little coffee. The larger sizes are for making coffee for more than one person. They're not intended for keeping coffee hot. It's also a good idea to get a good grinder which can grind coarse, since the filter is a metal screen, not paper. OK, I'm off to bed now. Going to have to get up early to clear the driveway.

Yeah well that crunchy grindy metal tone is all I do, and there is NO out growing it. lol

The one tried and true method is to get out to a music store that may have a stash of used pedals and see what works best for your amp, because in the end every amp will have a favorite pedal that will work ok. The store up the street from me has a shit ton of pedals and I always see dudes bringing there amps in to go through the pedals. The other thing you can do is search the web to see what others are using with your amp. If you don't want to end up with a box full of failed experiments you need to get a little methodical about it.

Better check your distance to the CO/RT. Unlike FIOS, which brings fiber to your home, Uverse is just bringing fiber deeper into the neighborhood and relying on VDSL to try to deliver decent throughput. But since it is DSL, distance is a killer.

The article also indulged in a bit of bullshit, claiming that Uverse and FIOS are rapidly growing. Verizon has pulled back big time on new deployments until they get better saturation in the areas where it is already offered and Uverse is in a similar state. The manager at the local AT&T retail store said it would be anywhere from ten years to never before they offer Uverse in my neighborhood. So it's sub-10 Mbps DSL or cable around here for the foreseeable future, with no incentive to improve the service offering.

491 ...I'm kind of resigned to figuring out what the deal is with "snow" and "winter" -- having lived in California all my life, I have little experience with it. Most people kind of grouse about it, so it's nice to hear that at least one Puppeh enjoys it.

-----------

When the snow comes down at a steady, floaty, clip, piling up like icing on a cake...it can be magical.

Everything is quiet, and beautiful.

The snow sort of muffles all sound.

It can turn a stark, grey landscape into a wonderland...in a matter of hours.

With wind, it gets different.

I've seen it blowing and snowing...a whiteout...that piles up drifts in wonderful, yet terrible, formations.

Open a window, and it's all white.

Snow all the way up to and over the roof.

Go to the other side of the house...and nothing...just a few inches.

When it is fresh, snow is beautiful.

But within days, if it is still hanging around because it is too cold to melt off...then it becomes a drag.

You get hard packed streets, that easily turn into black ice with even a little melting from the days sun.

That's the pain in the ass stage.

Intersections get big black chunks of ice that you have to maneuver through.

Side streets are covered in crusty frozen ruts that you can get stuck in.

Some people don't clear the snow off their vehicles...and you get smacked with big chunks of it as they go passed.

That is what it's like.

643 Sounds like what my siblings went through. I was a "pleasant surprise" and very young, but they all moved around a bunch as young'uns. By the time Dad got stationed here, I was two, maybe three. He came back to Norfolk with the ship, went on that shakedown cruise, and a steam valve ruptured. I had just years four. I think Mom was really tired of moving around - only reason I can come up with for her not going back home to Michigan. Posted by: shredded chi So sorry to here that chi. Tough thing to lose a father at that young an age. I think I'm just a bit older than you and facing losing my mother. She's on dialysis after a heart attack 10 years ago, not doing well. But I've had her around for this long, I feel so bad for someone losing a Dad at that young age. God bless your Mom and God Bless you. My best, T

AFAIK, they're still doing it. Just very slowly, in places nobody has ever heard of.

Some of the best voice-video-data deals in the US require living in small towns that are very inconvenient for any of the major telecoms or cable MSOs to bother serving. So it falls to local entrepreneurs to start companies just to serve that market. If you're in a place that has no cable service and barely had POTS support, it makes sense just to run fiber all over. Turns out a Mom and Pop operation with a handful of employees can be profitable while offering service packages at prices that any urban dweller would envy.

I'm not sure but I believe there are some tax breaks for these companies, due to providing service where none would exist otherwise, and they aren't forced to include a lot of the fees and taxes required of the big companies. So that helps.

I have a glass French Press coffee maker.

It makes good coffee...but oily.

There is something to be said for the oil-absorbing nature of a filter.

I've been enjoying my Keurig, though.

It doesn't have a filter, but the coffee is somehow not as oily as what my French Press makes.

I use those refillable K-cups.

It's nice to fill them with whatever kind of coffee I want to.

I make half-decaf quite a bit...or I end up still awake late at night...like tonight.

714 " damn, I miss Firefly"

Strange how such a liberal could come up with characters and a story line like Firefly.

But he did.
Don't ask me how though.

I'm thinking maybe mount picatinny rails with a red dot on the wand for the vacuum cleaner.
Re-label the dirt bag as a brass catcher,
And than........
I'm probably going to hell just for thinking that.

Looks like I've got a meeting before Teh Vic, so -

I'm still too busy writing and battling the black doggeh to really put together any Hollywood stories.  So I give you a picture of the impish Priscilla Dean:

http://tinyurl.com/pemkwwr

In the book Ladies in Distress by Kalton Lahue, there is a picture of Dean in a floor-length negligee, holding a candelabra.  The picture is titled, "What a way to go to bed!"  Naturally, Lahue gave no source for the picture and I've never been able to find it, even with google.  I wish I could; for me, it's a definite bunk picture.

See you all later.

720 Heh... local boy won a medal at the Olympics; not bad for somebody who never skied down a 'real' slope (not many of those in SW/SE Ohio/Indiana).

723 The PCUSA swing far to the left a long time ago. Don't take thier word as binding on what the rest of us Presbyterians think. Orthodox Presbyterian Church is the way to go any more.

724 All my hashes suck though. I'm thinking about upgrading to AoS Prime; do you really have to blow 3 Cobs to get enrollled?

No that's Platinum Prime!

725 I've always had utter contempt for Womyn's Studies even when I was a Duke student myself. I wouldn't hire that idiot either.

"Christian anti-Semitism that led to the Holocaust"

727 I have three crowns in my mouth to replace the broken in half back molars lost in hurling matches in high school in Denver back in the 1980's. But that was from errant elbows, not a hurley. I never took a hurley to the head. I did once catch a sliotar to the forehead and had the worlds greatest bruise across my head, down my nose, under my eyes... Hurling. Body draining exertion combined with pants wetting terror, I love it!
