McCain: It's a Stain on America's Honor That We Haven't Passed Amnesty Yet

So foreign citizens snuck into America and live here in violation of our current immigration laws instead of becoming residents through legal channels like all previous immigrants have done and this is all somehow a stain on our honor?

What the fuck, McCain? It's one thing to disagree on an issue but now you're making it personal. And making me okay with the prospect of a future Democrat senator from Arizona who won't gratuitously insult me.

USA-IMMIGRATION/CONGRESS

Cliven Bundy Loses the PR War

Well he never had a legal leg to stand on so his position as an sympathetic public emblem of the government bullying of ranchers was really all he had. But now after his racist rant he's PR poison.

Now of course just saying racist things doesn't invalidate your legal claims but then Bundy has already lost in court multiple times. And his claims of longtime family rights to the BLM land don't hold up to scrutiny. And now the left is warming up to him for his pro-amnesty views. Time to move on from this one folks.

George Clooney Will Not Stand For the Mocking of Mikhail Gorbachev

Or the dissing of his 'personal friend' Barrack Obama.

But he told the paper that Clooney first got upset at the dinner when one of the CAA execs told a joke about former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev.

Clooney threw "a hissy fit" about that, Wynn told the paper, then started talking about the ACA, or Obamacare. When Wynn, a frequent critic of Obamacare, spoke up, Clooney got mad about that, too, Wynn said.
"He called the president an (expletive deleted) ... that is a fact ..." Clooney said in a statement issued by his publicist. "I said the president was my longtime friend and then he said 'your friend is an (expletive deleted).' ... At that point I told Steve that HE was an (expletive deleted) and I wasn't going to sit at his table while he was being such a jackass."

Political Correctness Takes Over the Hugo Awards

Somehow a conservative writer's work ("Warbound, Book III of the Grimnoir Chronicles" by Larry Correia) made it onto the ballot and now all hell has broken loose. And the PC Police want you to know that he's a terrible, bad, bad person so you shouldn't vote for his book.

But everybody knows bad people can't create art, says the side that keeps showering Roman Polanski with awards.

In closing, I would really like everybody who is a voting member of WorldCon to actually read the works in each category and vote based upon which ones they think are best. I fully expect Wheel of Time to win my category of best novel. It is a fourteen book epic written by two authors over twenty six years. Duh.

Personally, my goal has been reached. I got the thought police to show the world their pretty pink panties.

Alicia Silverstone is Clueless About Science, Technology, Logical Reasoning, Cause and Effect, and Pretty Much Everything Else That Enabled Her to Go Through the Starbucks Drive-Through This Morning in Addition To Building Modern Western Society

In The Kind Mama: A Simple Guide to Supercharged Fertility, a Radiant Pregnancy, a Sweeter Birth, and a Healthier, More Beautiful Beginning, Silverstone chronicles what might reasonably be called her unconventional parenting advice: Bananas are "a naughty food for a baby," the diaper industry is "pseudoscience," and vaccines are essentially shots of "aluminum and formaldehyde."

And she's not afraid to fight the feminine hygiene industrial complex as well:

5. Stop using tampons.

Is there a class-action suit against OB on the horizon? According to Silverstone, tampons might be making you infertile: "[Y]our chichi is the most absorbent part of your body. Unfortunately, feminine-care manufacturers aren't required to tell you what's in their products, which means that no one's talking about the potential pesticide residues from non-organic cotton and the 'fragrances' containing hormone-upsetting, fertility-knocking phthalates that are snuggling up to your hoo-ha."

87 The U-2 spy plane outlasted the Cold War, outlived its successor and proved crucial a half-century ago when two superpowers were on the brink of nuclear war. But defense cuts now threaten to knock the high-flying reconnaissance aircraft out of the sky. The Air Force wants to gradually retire the fleet of 32 “Dragon Lady” planes, which can soar to an altitude of 70,000 feet, collect intelligence on North Korea and Russia and rapidly send the data to U.S. commanders. That’s a critical capability, given North Korea’s unpredictable leader, Kim Jong Un, and Russia’s emboldened president, Vladimir Putin. The Air Force says the unmanned aerial vehicle Global Hawk can do the job, and in an era of smaller, deficit-driven budgets, the Pentagon cannot afford both the plane and the drone. Skeptical lawmakers have challenged the Air Force’s proposal to ground the resilient U-2, the long-winged, all-weather manned aircraft with sensors and cameras. Called “Angel” at its inception because it could fly so high, the U-2 has been in operation since 1955 and provided the evidence of Soviet missiles in Cuba in 1962, helping to avert a nuclear war. Ah bullshit. I still don't trust Drones for certian jobs and if it were up to me I'd bring back the SR71 Blackbird!

His remarks were not anti-black, they were anti-government. Let's leave the cries of ' Racist!' to the left, shall we?

118 Dear Senator McCain: After hearing yet another ridiculous thing come out of gullet, may I suggest you find something better to do with your time, like, oh, I don't know, retire? The fact of the matter is no one, and I mean no one, likes you. You see, your base doesn't like you at all because you don't actually like your base, and they also don't like you because you don't actually agree with them on much. Which begs the question, why are you there in the first place? The other problem here is that the people to whom you should be loyal, you betray at every turn. Those other guys? Well, they don't like you either because you are carrying the wrong banner, i.e., you identify as a Republican, and they hate those guys. I know you find this perplexing because you want to be liked by everyone, but of course, wanting to be liked and admired is nothing but a sure fire way to be immensely disdained by all. As we all know, you should have figured this out after your disasterous run for the presidency. In closing, I just want to say, thanks for serving in the military. Seriously, thank you. But please, could you leave the Senate now? You're expiration date has expired, and you are starting to stink up the place. Ms. Overdone

Shallow, naive, obscenely overpaid actor, yeah, I give a shit what he thinks. Unlike Clooney, Steve Wynn has to function in the real world where the cost of paychecks and benefits packages can bankrupt a business. Ya know, like how the UAW contracts bankrupted General Motors. Guess we can't expect an actor to understand what Obamacare can do to a business. Clooney just takes his tens of millions of dollars for appearing in a movie and trots off to his villa in Italy. Meanwhile all those little actors and crew members who also work on the movie can get by on whatever crumbs are left over.

132 Ex-Cons Squatting in Soldier’s Home Defiantly Stay Put — But Their Tune Rapidly Changes After Outraged Bikers, Veterans Promise a Little Visit Indeed Sharkey tried going through law enforcement to remove Ortiz and Cardoso, but that turned out to be in vain — sheriffs said it’s a civil matter and would take a court order to evict them since they established residency. As you might guess, all of this has made other veterans and supporters of Sharkey absolutely livid. Lauren Price of Veterans Warriors told WFLA that Ortiz picked the wrong house to squat in, adding that she’s heard from veterans around the world who want to help. An attorney was secured who would handle the eviction process for free. Volunteers have since come forward and agreed to keep a close watch on the property to deter vandalism. Then WFLA reported that two Tampa motorcycle clubs filled with veterans were planning to ride over to the Sharkey residence on Sunday “and peacefully make the squatters uncomfortable.” With that, Ortiz started packing up, noting the planned biker visit was one of the reasons he and Cardoso were leaving, WFLA said. More from WFLA: Early Thursday morning the house seemed unoccupied. A few belongings were scattered on the front yard and two dogs were barking in the house. One of the animals jumped out of a broken window and ran around the yard. A Pasco County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the scene waiting for the animal control to get to the house. When Animal Control trappers arrived they eventually captured both dogs. Ortiz’s friends came over and took the animals. Duke Energy crews came to the house to investigate how the squatters got electricity at the house. Price said Veteran Warriors is organizing a cleanup and remodel of the house. Bravo Bravo

186 Not a defense of Bundy. But how did an interview about grazing rights end up on the subjects of welfare and slavery? My father worked at a large corporation that was involved in a 60 minutes exposé back in the 70s. One of the tactics they used back then was to ask pointed questions sure to piss the interviewee off in a very aggressive manner. Then switch to a calm voice and ask a question they wanted to air. The interviewee came off as evil, pissed and defensive. And that made for good TV. Point being if you lead any one you can trick them into an inarticulate quote if they are unprepared to deal with dishonest people.

228 Question: Why in the whole immigration debate must we immediately grant citizenship to illegals. Is giving them a work visa and then telling them to pay a fine and go to the end of the line to get a green card too much to ask? If I had to do an immigratin overhaul it would be as follows: 1)seal the boarder 2) fix the broken visa system ***These first two points are non-negotiable*** 3) after the above have been solved (and demonstrated to be solved for at least 5 years), illegals in the country will be eligible for a work visa (or some derivative for children and spouses) 3a) in the interim, the focus of deportation will be on felons and repeat offenders 4) Provided that the people who have visas are current on their taxes, pay a fine, and demonstrate English proficiency they will be eligible for a green card after 10 years. As always, any children born in the US will be considered citizens, but having a child that is a us citizen will not accelerate the timetable for receiving a green card. 5) citizenship can then occur after the regular 5 years of green card ownership. I would think that the above plan allows for illegals to achieve some sort of normalcy and security for their family, while not rewarding them for coming here illegally. Any thoughts, horde?

After his full terms of fake accents, TelePrompTer miscues, Corpseman, bowing & I don't think I need to go on, Perry will be a breath of fresh air. Perry being from TX wasn't good for him either but if he could debate, he would have made a better nominee than the father of Romneycare, which was part of basis of TFGcare. I live in MA & can't file state taxes unless I have form attached that proves I have insurance. Anyone that says it is a success is lying. Small companies got hurt & badly in premium increases. I hate him, but he is that bad guy you love to hate rather than the asshole that you want to see get destroyed like Cass.  And Spencer is right, if he's in the final he deserves to win.  And probably his best way to win is to admit what a conniving bastard he is, how he suckered just about everyone in his alliances and did whatever it took.

253 187 Not a defense of Bundy. Posted by: Dendritic at April 24, 2014 11:24 PM (75hfB) Other tricks the media us is asking a question, letting you answer, and then just shutting up holding the microphone up hoping that you will decide to try to expand the answer and end up doing an Akin. Another is to act like the cameraman is doing some distant shots or other shots, and then they start asking questions with the microphone tucked under their arm, but not in you face. They still get the audio, and they hope you will open up to them "off the record". Remember, the media are not our friends. Give short concise answers, and if they stop asking questions, say "thanks, I guess the interview is over now". Put them on the defensive.

Sometimes, tracks appeared that stretched the length of the screen. We were told not to ID them and the tapes... well, you get the idea. You didn't see it and it didn't happen.

Depending on how much time you have and if you have a rental car, consider taking a drive up some of highway 93. You could visit the Columbia Icefields but even if you don't it's a lovely drive. And, to annoy Cochran, if you have time visit Mackays Ice Cream in Cochrane, Alberta. Also, there are a lot of souvenir shops in Banff. The usual cheap stuff. And while I'm at it, pop into the Banff Springs Hotel. For a reliable steakhouse, visit The Keg. Marijuana smoking may also be a risk factor for stroke. Marijuana decreases blood pressure and may interact with other risk factors, such as hypertension and cigarette smoking, to cause rapidly fluctuating blood pressure levels, damaging blood vessels.

Be careful of what you wish for. By allowing people to be born, grow up, and live here without the option for citizenship you'll end up with a growing population of frustrated disgruntled second-class non-citizens who have no where else to go. Which is a perfect recipe for social unrest.

For all the gaming of the system that birthright citizenship enables we're still better off than say Germany and Japan with their restive populations of 3rd and 4th generation of not-really-native-but-can't-go-elsewhere Turks and Koreans.

Most of the Loyalist units wore green coats actually (as you'll see if they ever show Simcoe's Queen's Rangers in their real uniforms later on in the war although the rangers of Rogers' they've shown in episode one tend to green jackets too) but your point is well taken, Ricardo.

332 Vendette, love the tips because I shall be visiting Banff for the fourth time next month. I'm going to fly to Lethbridge, rent a car, then visit Waterton Lakes/Glacier (never been to before), Banff, and Jasper (als never been to). The flights and most of the lodging will be offset by Air Miles. Posted by: logprof at April 24, 2014 11:53 PM (v6uvG) I have an Air Miles card with my dad's name on it. Jasper is Banff without the commercialism. When we were there we stayed at the Delta hotel, which had its own "hot springs" pool. But there's nothing like sitting in an outdoor hot springs in April when it's below freezing with flurries. Seriously, check into the status of the Columbia Icefields to see what's being offered. Also, I personally have driven four hours from the Edmonton area to that horrific place called Calgary just to visit Peter's Drive-in for a burger and milkshake.

369 "Not a defense of Bundy. But how did an interview about grazing rights end up on the subjects of welfare and slavery?"

Because Bundy is a blathering idiot.

Who not only just ruined any hope he had of retaining his ranch, but wrecked the reputations of a lot of well-menaing people who showed up to support him, and handed a giant PR victory to the administration that's trying to evict him. Triple own goal!

This whole thing is why lawyers were invented. If Bundy weren't an idiot, he'd hire a good lawyer. Who would have cut things short before Bundy stuck his foot in his mouth down to the knee. Note that the guy has represented himself in federal court repeatedly, and lost every single time. Not much of a learner.

I am not generally a big fan of lawyers, but neither am I a big fan of doctors, and I wouldn't try to take out my own appendix, nor would I try to represent myself in court.

"My father worked at a large corporation that was involved in a 60 minutes exposé back in the 70s. One of the tactics they used back then was to ask pointed questions sure to piss the interviewee off in a very aggressive manner. Then switch to a calm voice and ask a question they wanted to air. The interviewee came off as evil, pissed and defensive."

All right, class, this is your gimmie question of the day. Don't forward this one to the people who didn't bother to show up for the lecture because you'll just drag the curve down.. This will be on the midterms and the final. It's multiple choice.

When a camera crew show up to interview you with no warning, do you:

(a) Calmly attempt to answer all of their questions, or

(b) Stick a thumb up your butt and randomly pontificate, or

(c) Tell them to stick around, because your attorneys and a second camera crew under your control will be there shortly.

The answer, ladies and gentlemen, in all times and at all places, is (c), and if you answer otherwise you fail the entire course and will not be allowed to enroll for a second attempt. Thank you.

Illegal immigrants work for cash. They do cleaning, gardening, construction, and other jobs in return for folding green. So, let's say a guy is here for 10 years and makes $10K per year -- it shouldn't be too hard for him to be current on his taxes, right? Income taxes on $10K/year are paltry.

But overdue social-security/self-employment taxes would be more that $15,000. Where is a guy who has only made $10K/year for the last ten years going to get a-year-and-a-half's GROSS wages?

@ Tangonine #222.

The YF-12 and SR-71 did not burn JP-4, but rather, JP-7, which also served in their hydraulic systems.

There were no bladders in the aircraft, nor any other form of "self-sealing" fuel tanks.

Which is why your assertion that they had to reach altitude to stop leaking is almost correct, but it wasn't altitude which sealed the tanks, but rather, thermal expansion of the airframe due to friction heating at speed.  Which would begin to exceed Mach 2 at your stated altitude (49,000+ agl), but not see the vaunted Mach 3+ until altitudes rose above the 70,000+ ceiling of the venerable U-2.

The magnificent costs of a worldwide fleet of KC-135 tankers, each dedicated to dispensing the SR-only JP-7 fuel, is what primarily grounded the SR fleet.  High maintenance costs per flight hour didn't help, but really, it was the price of the aging tanker fleet whut done 'em in.

Especially, when you figure that the epic New York to London flight (1 hr. 56 min and some-odd seconds), required three KC-135 mid-air fuelings, between the origin and destination.

I fully agree, the YF-12 an SR-71 are (that we know of) the most awesome air-breathing aircraft created by the hand of man.  And, I agree that we oughta still be flying the damned things.

But, I do think it important to get the facts and history right.  This IS a "Smart, Military Blog", after all, right?

Math's a little off - it would be in the neighborhood of $5K in SECA taxes (before penalties, which I presume will be waived).  After all, half of that is deducted.

439 Oh, also in the context of being sure to have a second camera crew show up when the media mavens show up:

I understand that in a not insignificant number of cases, once the "objective nonpartisan unbiased professional journalists" realize that there will be a second camera rolling, where there will be a record not under their control of what was actually said, they will abruptly pack back up into their own vehicles and unass the vicinity without explanation.

I recall someone's comment about how big rough tough fearless Mike Wallace ran like a rabbit the instant the independent camera team arrived.

448 OK, Bundy is Archie Bunker in a cowboy hat. He didn't strike me as somebody who was going to be invited to speak at the Southern Poverty Law Center convention. Many of us have parents or grandparents who didn't exactly use the PC terms of today. Should Harry Reid or some other corrupt MF take their home so a favored donor can make money off it? The message is loud and clear. Don't think of opposing Big Brother even if the jackbooted thugs don't come, because we can always Alinsky you and make your name toxic among all the bien passants. Message received Glenn Beck is patting himself on the back for "knowing that Bundy wasn't a saint". Pretty convenient since Beck makes his cash out of ratcheting up the paranoia about FEMA camps and the coming totalitarianism, then doesn't want to get his hands dirty when a real fight comes Beck reminds me of the Fred MacMurray character in "The Caine Mutiny".

464 He is such a cocksucker that I wouldn't be surprised if we discovered 20 years from now that he was a double agent. Fuck you McCain. Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at April 24, 2014 11:34 PM (QFxY5) I don't believe it. I went through a period of time of reading books by former POW's from Hanoi. I recently downloaded some of them from Amazon and intend to reread them. They're fascinating. There are a number of them that were written in the seventies. McCain is mentioned in many of them, and always in a positive way. These POW's who mentioned him in their books are people who were tortured and mistreated, stood up to the torture as long as they could, until they broke and signed confessions and so on. Some of them shared cells with him when he was at his weakest medically, or had adjoining cells. They know what they're talking about. Some of these people made appearances for his campaign. However, many of them, disagree with his politics. Like many Americans, they respect how he handled himself as a POW, but don't think so much of his choices as a politician. My own take is that during his years as a POW he managed, because of his family background, to man up and conduct himself well. 470 He is such a cocksucker that I wouldn't be surprised if we discovered 20 years from now that he was a double agent. He knew, as a POW, that anything he did could reflect poorly on his father, an admiral who was CinC of Pacific Command. I believe that the main reason he refused early release was because it would have embarrassed his father. Once he was out, he went back to being a self-important jerk. 471 "The magnificent costs of a worldwide fleet of KC-135 tankers, each dedicated to dispensing the SR-only JP-7 fuel, is what primarily grounded the SR fleet."

As far as I know, they never modified those tankers from the original 1950s vintage straight-through turbojet engines, since they flew relatively few hours. Water injection for extra oomph to get them off the ground. Shatteringly loud takeoffs. Louder, as I recall, than the departure of the Blackbird itself.

Also, SR ops required very expensive life support (custom pressure suits) for the crew. Prebreathing before boarding the jet, portable systems to feed the suit, all of that lot. Meticulously trained specialists to keep all that stuff working in tune. The U-2 has this same inherent cost issue, but half as much of it.

The F-22 community figured they could dispense with those fripperies and go to the very high flight levels without P-suits thanks to (dismissive wave of hands) _advanced technology_. Hasn't worked out that well in practice.

475 BTW, anybody here ever listen to quarterly earnings calls? By far, the most annoying part of every call are the questions from stock analysts. All of there questions basically boil down to four types of inquiries: 1. "Sure you're making money hand over fist, but my wife's second cousin's attorney's HOA newsletter reported that somebody once saw some sort of species of garden slug crawling on the floor in one of your establishments. How do you explain this glaring negative against your claimed exemplary earnings record?" 2. "15 earnings calls ago you said 'we're doing really well,' and in this call today you said at one point 'we're doing really good.' Which is it and how do you explain this?" 3. "So your stock lost $0.000002 this quarter. Tell us in ridiculously minute detail absolutely everything you're going to do over the next 15 years to fix it so that I don't have to list you in my publication's 'sell' column." 4. "So how goes fellating China these days?"

496 436 All the amnesty shills keep on talking about "current on their taxes", which is a concept so flagrantly ludicrous that I'm insulted when they bring it up.

Posted by: cthulhu at April 25, 2014 12:25 AM (T1005)

Math's a little off - it would be in the neighborhood of $5K in SECA taxes (before penalties, which I presume will be waived). After all, half of that is deducted. Posted by: steveegg at April 25, 2014 12:27 AM (o44nj) Hide posts from (o44nj)

Torquewrench.

The cabin altitude of a U-2 at FL-70, is said to be something on the order of 18,000 ft.

Pressure suit, definitely required.

For the SR-71 at FL+ 90?  Bet that cabin altitude is well above 22,000 ft., and the pressure suit is life itself.

And you're right about the older KC-135s.  But, the entire USAF inventory of '135's had been re-engine to high-bypass fans in the early to mid '90s.....still, the JP-7 fuelers were gaining in age, if not flight hours...  steam-gauge cockpits, analog electronics, etc., etc.

Was a damned shame that the whole system was grounded.  And, I fear it would now be impossible, and then some, to re-launch the fleet.  Outdoor static displays are unbelievably hard on old aircraft.

torquewrench, I simply cannot remember the specific names (and will not search online out of principle in this case .... my memory cannot be this bad), but Boeing-Military in Wichita did up-engine at least some of the KC-135s in the early 1980s.  High-bypass turbofan (obviously gigantic leap from the old, loud, fuel-inefficient original power plants you describe), made by a US/French consortium.  I was at the rollout in Wichita.

You're assuming facts not in evidence. The issue remains -- if someone was here for a year and got amnestied after paying taxes, it might work -- but nobody's talking about that. For someone to have lived here (if you call $10K/year living....) for 10 years, and claim that they are current on taxes is ridiculous. The tax rates are simply too large and the time-period too long.

Yeah, I rolled my eyes a bit.....but I'm not the greatest fan of credentialism, either. In case anyone wonders, the usual way you slice-and-dice a Schedule C is by maxing dual-use deductions as business items: "I drove across town to assess business conditions, and hit Walmart on my way back." "I took Frank Jones out to lunch and discussed a possible investment opportunity."

579 "Outdoor static displays are unbelievably hard on old aircraft."

There was a B-1B on outdoor static display at the Hill AFB museum in Utah that just made me want to cry. One of the most beautiful aircraft ever to grace the sky, and it was a hideous mess.

As for 135 tanker re-engining, yes, all of the current fleet have new(er) motors now, and got those a while back. I still am unsure whether they got around to ever doing that to the small subsection of the tanker fleet that was dedicated to Blackbird support.

As by the late 1980s, the handwriting was on the wall for eventual SR retirement, a large percentage of the USAF brass wanted it gone, and claiming tanker obsolescence would be one lever to help shift it toward the door.

Although, what may have happened is that they did re-engine the SR tankers with the intent of later on re-plumbing them for conventional jet fuel delivery, and moving those into the mainstream tanker force after the SRs went to museums. That would make sense given the low cycle and hour count on those tankers.

Dumbass method -- Step 1 -- do whatever the hell you want to; Step 2 -- go to your accountant and find out you owe buckets of money; Step 3 -- ask him to lie for you; Step 4 -- wonder why your shit's all in the street outside your accountant's door.

You forgot the last step on each path should the IRS find out you're a conservative and decides to target you for personal destruction - Bend over.

The shorter path is easier - the sudden stop at the end of the fall isn't quite as catastrophic. Posted by: steveegg at April 25, 2014 01:21 AM (o44nj) Hide posts from (o44nj)

618 There were two parallel KC-135 re-enginings. One (KC-135R) was with the GE/SNECMA hi-bypass fans. The other (KC-135E) was with low to medium bypass fans scavenged from surplus Boeing 720s brought from, among others, American. And some 135s remained water wagons. Don't know if any of the WC/EC/RC-135s were re-engined. Some of the 720 airframes became EC-18s, while others became E-8s. I remember seeing the open cargo door on an EC-18 at Wright-Pat. It still had the AA logo visible on it.

Although, what may have happened is that they did re-engine the SR tankers with the intent of later on re-plumbing them for conventional jet fuel delivery, and moving those into the mainstream tanker force after the SRs went to museums. That would make sense given the low cycle and hour count on those tankers.

They re-engined the KC-135Qs (ex-A models) with the CFM-56 engines also in the -Rs n the early-to-mid 1990s and redesignated them the -T model.  Dunno about the replumbing idea, but they've been in the mainstream tanker force for a while.

It's not fair that we impose our immigration standards on illegals people just showing love. We should treat them according to immigration laws of their native land. So if you're here, and Mexican (for example) you'd get treated with the Mexican immigration laws.  //s

Oh, wait. the Mexican laws are waaaayyy harsher than ours (not cruel and inhuman) but harsher. I don't think they'd like that either.

For the millions that come here from south of the border (an invasion really) you'd think that if they used just a fraction of the numbers of people, and put the same effort they do into altering this country (cause they have little to no desire to assimilate) that they could completely reform Mexico. Purge it of the corrupt politicians and narco shit that infests it. Live off the natural resources that it has. Use the geography as tourist havens and lands for produce.

Sure it would take blood, sweat and tears, but we're told that's what they're willing to invest here. They're just here to work hard. They face danger crossing the border or "living in the shadows". Change your own country to your liking and stop trying to radically modify ours.

If you really want to cut the crap, the US is a world power because self-reliant troublemakers are more productive than entrenched elites and serfs. Plymouth Rock was a bunch of unpopular religious fanatics; Georgia was an outright penal colony, English-speakers in non-coastal states generally got there after they'd pissed somebody off on the coast.

We've had a decades-long experiment with Mexico where they've had one-party rule and shipped all their malcontents over the border to us.....and, y'know what -- I'm ok with that. I want all the rovers and seekers and dreamers and doers we can get....it's called "brain-drain", bitchez, and it wouldn't fret me a whit if we got 'em all.

But when we start letting in the lords and ladies, the toadies and the bootlickers, those content in their serfdom and those who prefer to lie in degradation and have things brought to them than to get up on their feet and seek them out.....well, that's where we part ways.

I don't give a rat's ass as to whether they're white or black or brown or yellow or purple with green polka-dots. If they're here to kick-ass and take names, I'm all for 'em; if they're here to kiss-ass and take freebies, they should be shipped-off, post-haste.

Here's an article from 2013 by Allen West in which he says:

http://tinyurl.com/l8m7rve

“Back in the Old South, if you were a slave, everything was provided for,” West told the audience. “The master gave you your housing, your food, your job. And the slave was totally dependent.

“Now look at America today. It’s the same story. Obama has taken the role of slavemaster. He’s giving away food, shelter, and work to black people and creating a permanent underclass of 21st century slaves.

“If you’re on welfare, you belong to the government. If you’re on food stamps, you belong to the government. If you use Social Security, Medicare, student loans, or the post office, the government owns your mind, body and soul.

“And if you decide that you don’t want to pay taxes to fund this slavery, then overseer (Attorney General) Eric Holder is gonna come down and whip your butt into a federal court.”

Sounds an awful like what Bundy said, only slightly more PC. In fact, what Bundy said was not much different than what any number of black conservatives have said -- that Dems have really hurt black family life with their handouts and they keep blacks on a new type of plantation. But, the likes of Hannity have to use every word in the thesaurus to run away. *sigh* we'll never win any battles if those in the peanut gallery keep tucking tail and playing by the Left's rules.

I see that Bundy's use of the term  "Negro" has some clutching their pearls, but guess who used it in 2008? Yup, Sen Harry Reid:

I haven't said anything about protecting/policing borders......if anything, I've implied more discretion (read: control) at borders because I've discussed welcoming in v. sending away.

But I'll go beyond that -- our borders should be sealed tighter than a paramecium's buttcheeks except as provided by immigration policy.....but immigration policy needs to be totally rehashed.

The simplest, easiest, and most foolproof revision of immigration policy would be the "one-in/one-out" policy. Anyone from anywhere who can persuade a specific US citizen to forfeit his birthright citizenship to the applicant can get in. Period.

That being said, Bundy is a crank, although the discussion about the federal land grab should be a real debate.

I just don't why conservatives want to wade into issues they know they're going to be sabotaged on, specifically race and abortion.  I understand the point Bundy was making, but saying "maybe" black people were better off as slaves in chains is an incredibly stupid way of using hyperbole to make a point.
