Pro Bowl
— Dave in Texas

Well there is NFL football of a sort going on, the Pro Bowl.

It's not much football, as football goes but it is a game and all so what the heck.

I like Tampa Bay cheerleaders. They are the best.

Superbowl next Sunday.

49 Oh, I got into it with a running buddy this a.m. about the cheerleader lawsuit. He of course wants to give the girls more $. I said "OK, but you're going to have to pay more for a ticket now." He said "No I won't, the NFL has a lot of money." I said, "Yes, but a finite budget for cheerleaders; the bulk of the money goes into fielding a good team." He said "Well, then they should pay the players less." No sense at that point to argue with a wealth redistributionist. Not worth getting any deeper! I'm a female, so maybe it's just me, but do cheerleaders really add any value to a team? I mean I'm sure they're nice to look at, if you are a guy, but does anyone watch a football game just for them? Are they a key ingredient into drawing a crowd? Am I naive to believe football would still be successful and still happily embraced even if there were no cheerleaders? For the record, I am not some overweight, insecure woman who is intimidated by cheerleaders.

They had to pay to see a dietician mandated by the coaching staff. They were required to "volunteer" at a certain number of public appearances before they got paid for them. They practiced once during the week and once on the weekend. The weekend practice was before the game during season. They also had uniform deposits and other various expenses. As my wife said, "I knew it was going to cost me money. I didn't do it to get paid, I did it to be an NFL cheerleader. Anyone that thinks they're going to be paid well for that is a fucking idiot."

112 I don't know how much they get paid but I believe a lot of players do have incentives in their contracts for making the pro bowl.

116 110. Yes, most of it-or in collaboration with others.

117 Well, this will make all OK. Black guy that killed two white people was a vegan, from NY Slime. “From that point on, he became a vegan,” Mr. Cropper said. “That’s the person he was.” Like Hitler, he liked killing people?

118 Well apparently only one of 8 49ers went to the game that made the pro bowl. And I saw the kicker for the patriots but otherwise haven't seen any others. I never really liked that sort of behavior.

119 I like Tampa Bay cheerleaders. They are the best. I posted in an earlier thread the results of my scientific observations .. Best Boobehs - Tennessee Titans Best Asses - San Francisco 49ers Best All Around - Tampa Bay Bucs

120 Cheerleaders know going in that they're not going to pay the mortgage with the pay for cheerleading. It's a resume booster for other endeavors they're pursuing Terri Hatcher for instance was a 49ers Cheerleader

122 The pro bowl is probably going to have a better halftime show than the Super Bowl.

Posted by: kbdabear at January 26, 2014 05:32 PM (aTXUx)

128 Ok they just mentioned what they get paid. Winners get $53000 the losing team get $26000

129 Interesting game, I'll give it that.  Not real exciting, though.

Don't want to jinx shit up, and I got home toward the end of the 1st quarter, but at least I haven't seen any of those new fookin' Old Spice commercials yet. They give me the heebies.

136 Since I'm a Texans fan, I'm not going to complain about what the Seattle fans did, as we did the same shit to our OWN q.b. when he was injured.

...

Okay, I'll complain. But mainly because it was so fucking awful when my fellow Texans fans did it. Only time I've ever taken off my Texans hoodie at a public event (well, the local BW3 anyway).

138 "The pro bowl is probably going to have a better halftime show than the Super Bowl."

The Super Bowl's halftime act is Bruno Mars and I'm going to stake a prediction that amnesty will be mentioned. I'll put 75% odds.

100% odds for ganja jokes. I expect no-one to take that bet because it's just not a bet.

Not teh ghey, though. Make that 25% Since amnesty and ganja are on the playbill, ghey will be pushed down to next year.

I concur... maybe it's cuz I love the Bucs... maybe it's cuz those outfits gives off a slut vibe... like a sexy pirate costume on Halloween...

... either way, they're great!
