— DrewM It's hard to stand out for low ratings on network that no one watches like MSNBC but full credit to Ronan Farrow, he manages to pull it off.
“He sort of stinks on TV,” an MSNBC source told Confidenti@l. “He hasn’t turned out to be the superstar they were hoping for.”...
Last Wednesday, Farrow drew an average of about 312,000 total viewers, which might be stellar for Twitter but “is rather measly for someone who is supposed to be a major national personality,” another source said.
Even worse: Wednesday’s show was 708th among all programming ranked by Nielsen, in both total viewers and the 18-to-49 age group advertisers covet. The midnight airing of “Baggage” on the Game Show Network came in ahead of it, at No. 707, and the 8 a.m. “Golden Girls” on the Hallmark Channel (No. 700) crushed it.
Somewhere in the great beyond, Frank Sinatra is telling everyone there's no chance this no-talent loser is his kid and if he were he'd smack the smirk off the kid's face.

Sinatra is known to have done a number of ornery things in his day.
This is his purgatory.
So that's good for Frank. Since it's not bad enough to be hell, that means it'll end eventually.

I wonder which episode of "The Golden Girls" that was, btw. That's some good stuff, "The Golden Girls." It's scary how many episodes I can remember clearly, and scarier still how much dialogue I can recite right along with the characters.

When you believe reality is just a social construct it isn't hard to believe you can make someone good just by wishing it.
Also, the left has had great success in getting people to vote for losers who've never done anything of note in their lives. But apparently not only is paying for your Obamacare a step to far for them, so is tuning into a "news" show that doesn't have a headliner playing with his clown nose on.

That's what I keep saying about Obama. If he's so exquisitely brilliant, why isn't he corresponding with the great minds of the day? Why isn't he doing what Paul Erdos did and announce "My mind is open" after showing up on mathematicians doorsteps? Why is he hanging out with rappers and athletes instead of geniuses?
Of course you all know the answer. He's not brilliant. He's a middling intellect who is profoundly lazy.

As much as I want to take a heat gun to the face of everyone who uses the phrase "white privilege" in an unironic fashion, I can occasionally understand why proggs of colour believe it exists: Because a very tiny subset of people who are distinguished by their families' political connections--not their melanin, their actions--have very real privilege. And except for people named Jackson and Carson and Obama (nee Robinson), they're kinda pale.

You joke, but given HOllywood's completely bankrupt well of ideas, can a "Golden Girls" reboot REALLY be far behind?

If you keep a DNA sample, you'll only have to e-mail the one who comes back with a match.
So I've heard, anyway.

So true. Maybe it needs a better name, though, like Political Privilege?
Because I'm white but I'm sure not getting offers like the lesser Clintons, Kennedys, Bushs, etc.

What's up with all of this dynastic shit, anyway? Bushes, Clintons, and now Sinatras. Whatever happened to invidual merit and content of character as the measures of a given man or woman? It wouldn't be so bad if these progeny, spouses and siblings actually had something going for them by way of talent and ability, but they don't.
Sure, an argument for royalty could be made with the likes of Henry VIII, who may've been a wife-murdering asshole and all-around murderous meglomaniac, but he did manage to father Elizabeth I. However, I would argue that superlative offspring are (by definition) always the exception, not the rule. Look at Prince Charles, for example. That horse-faced, addle-brained twit is the best argument against monarchy I've ever seen.

Here's my guess: One on one he's actually a great, charming, con-man. He knows how to talk to aging leftist hags in a way that makes them wish they were younger. Like Hillary!.
But take someone like that and try to transfer their skills to another similar endeavor and sometimes it falls apart magnificently.
Take Mike Nelson for example. He's hilarious as a writer on MST3K, as a writer on Rifftrax, and has great ability to deliver his lines. But for some reason he failed spectacularly as a stand-up comedian.

There's no way Woody stumbled into the wrong bedroom and hooked up with an adult. That's a bridge too far.

What you are telling me is that there are 707 television shows even MORE AWESOME than Rowan Farrow's show? Is this true? Do my eyes deceive me?
In other words, say my Tivo breaks, and I miss Rowan's show -- sad, but no longer a tragedy, because I have 707 delightful options with which to console myself until I can get a transcript, or perhaps even bootleg recording, from one of my many Rowan-watching friends.
Is this what you are saying? Because that makes 31 March 2014 even more wonderful than it was before.
Update: OMG! Read the article, and...Golden Girls -- STILL IN SYNDICATION!!!

Word.
Then again, there's Prince Harry. The exception that proves the rule.
