— Ace He's specificlly suing over one of the many lawless "interpretations' of the law -- the special, illegal treatment that Congressmen and their staffs are receiving.
But who knows. Maybe we can get this rolling into a general suit about the illegal Enabling Act we call Obamacare.
Only members of Congress and their staff, when they lose their employee sponsored care, will have the ability to have their employers make a tax advantage contribution to their healthcare plan. That's the special treatment. That's completely unfair and completely unjust."
"The law as it has been written is being ignored," explained Johnson.
"This is the law of the land. If members of Congress and the administration don't like the law of the land, they should come to Congress to change the law of the land. They should not change it by presidential decree or presidential fiat."
In addition to basic fairness, Sen. Johnson said the lawsuit has the intention of "providing a long overdue check on presidential power."
Hear, hear.

Except it's not just Obamacare. It's also the enormous number of other areas in which Obama completely ignores duly enacted law, essentially nullifying it, in open defiance of the specifically enumerated Constitutional duty of presidents to see that said laws be "faithfully executed".
By now, it ought to be clear to anyone who is paying attention that Obama will continue to reign as an arrogant imperial figure at his own whim, law and Constitution be damned, until he is actively reined in by Congress and/or the courts. Neither of whom appear to have the spines to do so.

Not that a precedent should NEED to be set, since there's that whole Constitution and Bill of Rights and whatnot that already says this shit's illegal.

Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner slammed fellow Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson, saying his recent lawsuit against the Office of Personnel Management over permitting Obamacare subsidies for lawmakers and Hill staff a will cost the GOP on the front lines of legislative battles.
“Success in the suit will mean that Congress will lose some of its best staff and will be staffed primarily by recent college graduates who are still on their parents’ insurance,” Sensenbrenner said in a statement released Sunday.
Sensenbrenner said it will also “make it even more difficult to fight the
resident and his older, more experienced staff.”

Oh, btw, Bunsenburner, way to insult the youth of this country who are desperate for work. It doesn't matter that most of them can't find their own ass with both hands and a flashlight. Hell, neither can 90% of Congress. Maybe instead of saying, "Forcing our staffers onto Obammycare would be too expensive and they'd have to leave to seek out other employment, leaving us with stupid young people!" you should say, "Obammycare is too expensive across the board. We should get rid of it."
Or, y'know, you can just insult an already angry, jobless, deeply-in-debt portion of the population. There's always that.

"Cloture" means the debate will 'end', 'come to a conclusion' .
'end' means the senate will debate for no more than thirty hours and there will be rules that limit senators to one hour. and there are other rules. and then they 'vote'
'vote' means tally the 'yes' and 'no' vote deals that have been made once the backroom deal making and the 'whip count' is sufficient to pass the bill.
so ya, it means that.

After Lili headed out to the hotel, her husband, a man named Da Jun, came home three days early from his business trip in Harbin. He phoned Lili, and she told him she was at the beauty salon. But when he went on her computer he discovered that chats and headed to the hotel.
When Lili arrived at the hotel, she discovered that Old Wang, her father-in-law, was the man with whom she had been chatting. (At which point he realized Lili’s husband, his son, was not in fact in jail, but away on business.) And at this, of all moments, Da Jun arrived. Without letting the two explain, he declared, “I’m out there working my ass off to earn money, half-dead with fatigue, and all the while you two are messing around!”
Allegedly he then beat his father and wife, knocking out three of the latterÂ’s teeth and thus explaining why exactly she would be trying to fall in love with strangers on the Internet. When the hotel staff saw the violence, they called the police, and, in a bit of cosmic justice, Da Jun was thrown in jail.

No. Not Gabe and all his buddies. Gabe's a civil serpent...as I also am.
The Hill and Cabinet Executive agency staffers are usually on Schedule C and they do, in fact, make shit. At least for the first 3 years.
Of course, by them most of them have headed off to pick up the MBA or decamped to a Beltway Bandit (Deloite, anyone??)
Sensenbrenner's argument doesn't hold any water, since the constant turnover of lower staff guts his argument.
If he were talking about senior staff, he might have an argument...but he wasn't talking about senior staff.

One of the things I have learned the hard way is to refrain from opinion when I know I don't know the facts. That being said, the idea that a cop would shoot someone to save time or get home early enough to catch the Gilligan's Island marathon is just pure crap. When a cop fires a gun in the field, that is when things start, not when they end.

I divide my officers into four groups. There are clever, diligent, stupid, and lazy officers. Usually two characteristics are combined. Some are clever and diligent -- their place is the General Staff. The next lot are stupid and lazy -- they make up 90 percent of every army and are suited to routine duties. Anyone who is both clever and lazy is qualified for the highest leadership duties, because he possesses the intellectual clarity and the composure necessary for difficult decisions. One must beware of anyone who is stupid and diligent -- he must not be entrusted with any responsibility because he will always cause only mischief.

I appreciate Ron Johnson's attention to this, in all honesty. It has to be done, we have to fight or we will be overwhelmed.
But I can't help but feeling this will eventually morph into sort of a Robertsesque "figure out the desired result to support what our messiah Obama needs, then make the law fit that template".
Makes me feel like these lawsuit fights are kind of like Jim Bowie fighting off a dozen armed men from Santa Ana's troops from his bed with his Bowie knife in the Alamo.
Maybe just Blue Monday blahs. Go to it Mr. Johnson, appreciate your efforts.

An aside on standing. I was stopped by MA police who were just sitting by the road typing license plate numbers into a computer. They got a hit on me. It was a mishit (two computers didn't agree whether I was driving under a suspended license, so they went with the one that said I was wrong. I wasn't.)
Anyway, it seemed to me that randomly running numbers when I'm not missing a taillight or running a stop sign or anything was an illegal search under the 4th, and I wanted to challenge it. I thought I could get the ball rolling myself and then get some Cato types to help. They said "pay $300 and will dismiss the charges". I said "fuq you, I want a trial". They said "pay $100 etc.", I persisted. They might even have started at $600, I went to court a lot of times. Eventually they said "Nol Pros" or words to that effect.
I said to the judge, "I've been coming back to the court to challenge this law, and if there is no case I don't have standing". And the judge said "there is no case".
Since then the jurisdictions I drive through in CT don't even have to type in plate numbers. They have scanners that read plates and ping databases.

I mean, if they're willing to SAY '200', how the fuck many is 'many'?

The traitor Roberts gave everyone free rein to make the law into whatever they like when he did exactly that himself. He made it official that any word is as good as another when it comes to our laws. Can may be cannot, will may be will not, mandate may be tax and one date is as good as another.
