If taught properly by people who know what they are doing using material made by people who also know what they are doing, then these types of lessons beig taught after and in addition to the solid basic mathmatics wouldn't be much of a problem. It is a problem here because they throw out that basic core learning and replace it with this crap. It replaces "memorizing numbers" with memorizing lesson scripts! They are taught in such a way that the students just go through the motion without grokking it.

It actually can be a useful trick in handling large numbers (says the CPA) [like 99994 + 27], but using it for two-digit addition is nutso.

Actual voters are wise to that game. When a "grassroots initiative" comes up for capital-e Education, which despite being low on funds always seems to have the funds to post high-production-value flyers along every road you drive down . . .

. . . the issue tends to lose at the polls.

46 If I never see a Kardashian again, or Mooch's gaping maw in her fashionable drapes, I would be a happy woman. And, now, on freaking Yahoo, there is a gigantic snake on top of a car or something as I sure as hell am not clicking on that. I assume, from my barely glancing up from my seamstress nightmare, that the missing 777 has not been found.

Why? Why do we have to see this in our peripheral vision just checking news? There are not enough mint booze drinks to erase these images.

I am not sure which Kardashian injects silicone into her butt but I hope she does not get the bad products (like the lady who had cement to enhance her caboose and surprisingly died). I can't tell one Kardashian from another, and don't fully understand why they are always in Daily Mail or why Bruce Jenner is without an adam's apple. What weird, weird freakoid excuses for people.

I hope a Common Core math expert will figure the basic cost of the seventy people in China on our dime as the first girls have spring break. A few years ago Air Force One cost $186,000 per hour. I think she is in AF II, which is similar with security, as you know, she is traveling at a really great peaceful time! She is staying, with her seventy friends/family/ security, in a 3,400 sq foot suite in a Westin at the cost of over $8,000 per night as her voodoo mama orders around the Chinese. Our ambassadors of good will should have to pay their own way for this. Yeah, right. pfft

48 MLB opening day in Australia. Seem to have good crowds in Sydney. They've converted the cricket grounds there to a baseball field. The Australians seem to be really enjoying the game. The especially seem to enjoy the foul balls. Appears to be a novelty that cricket doesn't have that thrills them.
