Take A Chill Pill Open Thread - [Niedermeyer's Dead Horse]
— Open Blogger

It's been a long day and the sun is setting. It's time to kick back and exhale.

While Sara Smile is my favorite song and this is perhaps my favorite version, the video below doesn't suck.

And, for the guitar fans

Go now.

Relax!

62 Pacific Rim did not have enough giant robots for a giant robot movie. And I was prepared to hate Battleship, but, I ended up loving it, because it was a big dumb movie and never pretended otherwise. And, honestly, best use of AC/DC in a film Oscar is needed here. In the same vein, another movie kinda sorta based on a game, Real Steel, which was maybe Rock'em Sock'em Robots as a movie. This was a really good film, and it had a lot of heart, and the robots while maybe not giant, were big, plentiful, and featured in a lot of the action.

From a 22yr old girl friend.  I don't even bother trying to pierce her +20 skull anymore.

I sincerely feel terrible for women with this mentality. Children are a blessing for some, but not everyone wants or is cut out for parenthood and those who are deserve (and need) to be selfish and do things for themselves sometimes, too. Anyone who thinks the value of a woman's existence is dependent on having children is sexist, delusional, and sick. I can't imagine how terrible and unfulfilling life is for someone who doesn't believe in self-development and their own experiences. Be selfish; live for yourself a little.

199 What the hell is a Timbit? A dingle berry from Tim Horton? And who the hell is Tim Horton? I am far in the middle of nowhere I can see Uranus from here... Posted by: OG Celtic-American at April 24, 2014 09:48 PM (W7zKe) Tim Hortons is a Canadian chain best known for doughnuts and coffee. A Timbit is a doughnut hole. They also serve sandwiches, soups, and other desserty stuff. They are everywhere in Canada (my hometown of 20,000 people or so has 2 of 'em) and they have made an appearance in the U.S., mainly in the northeast. One of the co-founders of the chain was Tim Horton, who was a defenseman for the Toronto Maple Leafs back in the 50s (I think it was the 50s).

Fairly easy to tell when a tom has been cut, but for female cats, maybe we need to come up with a system of marking the belly to confirm spayed status.

It makes me sick to my stomach that I am paying for this garbage. Seriously, if he doesn't graduate from his "Catholic" university as bisexual and Muslim, well, it won't be for lack of trying on their part. His "world literature" class last semester was almost exclusively Islamic authors.

229 Met Mrs. Hammer at a Moe's (it's suckey, IMHO) for quick dinner. They had MSNBC on two screens. There was a show on called, Race Matters. The closed captioning was on, so I could read the dialog. In the short time that I followed it, I read that "87% of African Americans voted for Obama, almost the same as the percentage of white people voting for Romney." Well...,what is the implication to the average LIV? Well, probably that the white folk are raaaaacist! Because, black folk are not, of course. But quite aside from that, they cleverly skew things, as all propagandists do. For the black folk they cite the percentage of black voters who voted for Obama, but for Romney, they cite the percentage of people who voted for Romney who were white. Two entirely different things. In point of fact, 40% of white voters voted for Obama in 2012. In the 2008 election, it was 45%.. That is better than Clinton (either term), Kerry, Gore, Dukakis, Mondale, or Carter. But, you know, raaaaacist!

393 Misanthrope H, Your knee surgery is still bothering you? A woman in my office had one replaced on Halloween & she's fine now. My Aunt had one done today. Her daughter emailed me that surgery went fine, but that's all I know. Go bitch & loudly at doctor!

I have 2 emerson folders but no good fixed blade. I've been hunting for months, best friend has EXACTLY the knife I want but he's so busy he hasn't been able to give me a model #. Dagger. Serrated. 4.5" at least. Need it for my kit.

404 permanent prayer list for you, darlin' . . . hope it helps because I cannot imagine a world without you. Posted by: Peaches at April 24, 2014 10:55 PM (8lmkt) as most D contractors will tell you: the scariest part is the trip from the airport to the hotel. Survive that and yer good.

405 T9- Gerber MKII, if a sheath knife is not too bulky. Posted by: Mike Hammer at April 24, 2014 10:59 PM (aDwsi) Thanks, brother, exactly what I was looking for. As any infantry soldier will tell you: no one gives a shit about how much the knife costs. Does it stabby stab? Yes/No? If it comes to the point of knife fighting, the grade of steel of the dagger kinda takes a back seat to stabby stab. No one gives a shit. It's what's comfortable and automatic. That's a great knife.
