The gun control debate is Exhibit #1 in the "all politics is local" discussion. State by state, overly restrictive gun laws have been falling down, and it's all due to state organizations.
If you are interested in repealing these overly restrictive gun laws at all, you need to be part of your state organization (regardless if you are part of any national organizations or not). Here in NC it is Grass Roots North Carolina, and they can be found at www.grnc.org

Maybe I'm wrong here, but it never seemed to me that that was a good tactic to begin with. We have a good message. We have a strong message; ie. freedom, self determination, government out of your life, and so on. I have never had a problem getting anyone to agree with my point of view, if political affiliation never comes into it.
The problem is the media, and I am afraid that is a fight we are always going to lose. It's very hard to have a meaningful discussion or debate when people see you as a monster right out of the gate, just because you are a Republican, or Conservative. Talk about prejudice.

Priebus needs to be gone for saying something that terminally ignorant. Everybody knows how this will play out: If this dogshit Repuke plan gets accepted it gives legal status to some worthless human trash heaps and then some dickhole judge, appointed by one of the RINO Bushes or Slick, will say that it's not fair that the leeches don't have citizenship and BOOM, there goes the country. That's how it will go, idiot.
When I was growing up I'd encounter a number of bitter cranky old guys who'd say "don't trust any politicians" and I'd think how fucked up that was and I would never be that pessimistic. Thanks to the current crop of turds in the toilet called the GOP that's exactly how I feel.

Very well said. I've always been befuddled at how we can miss the boat on reaching the vast majority of people. Don't people inherently long to be free? If you dig down deep into your soul, isn't that the likely feeling among human beings? Freedom, independence, the sky's the limit possibilities? Aside from the fact that I know there are still plenty of weak-minded who want to be taken care of, I'd think the other aspirations are just automatically ingrained in the human psyche. The message of conservatism is strong, appealing and a natural inclination for the human condition. What has destroyed that over the decades in America is 1) public education and 2) the media. If we don't find a way around that, or infiltrate it in a significant manner, the future is not pretty.

That's an interesting idea, and has some merit. One big problem, though, is that it would be terrible for people who got laid off from a high-paying job but then later had to settle for a lower-paying job just to pay the bills, or for the long-term unemployed in general if/when they do find work.

Thanks for that. She (Patty Loveless) has a great voice and most of her songs are excellent listening.

The Chicago MFM does that all the time. The suspect was wearing jeans and a white t-shirt. Oh really? Well that narrows it down

I can detect a difference; however, I don't think paying for the difference lives up to the hype! If you are a video nut, there are some special features available only on BR.

Over a regular DVD player yes, however one that does progressive scan is closer. But given the cheapness of Bluray players now there is no reason not to get one.

Maybe the MN campus cops can just write, "Yep, you guessed it" in the Race block of the arrest form.
Would that be racist?

With the GOP establishment leadership currently in place, we might as well have Jeb Bush as the Republican candidate. Better yet, since he is relatively young, he can be endlessly recycled for the next six election cycles until it really is his turn!
