FRIDAY! Woooooo!

South Dakota judge gives okay for lawsuit over ABC News' "pink slime" stories to proceed.

One last great read on the Hobby Lobby argument.

Weekly Standard piece stating that there's little reason to believe Condi Rice is angling for a 2016 run likely to stoke commentary about whether Condi Rice is angling for a 2016 run.

Have a good weekend.

3 Good Morning Morons.  Today is Friday, March 28, 2014.  On this day in 1930 Constantinople changed its name to Istanbul.  This was the second name change for that city.  It was originally called Byzantium and was founded by the Greeks in around 671 BC.  The Roman emperor Constantine founded the current city in 324 naming it after himself.  Of course the Muzzies have to change everything they get control of, including in the case of this city changing the Hagia Sophia from a Christian temple to a mosque. But it did spark this song in 1953 by The Four Lads.

11 Yet another extension of unemployment benefits passed the Senate 60 vote threshold to make it to the floor by 65-34, meaning that some RINOs joined the Democrats. Here are the 10 RINOs who crossed the aisle; three did not vote which is the same as voting no in a cloture vote.

10 Republicans joined Democrats to advance it: Sens. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Dan Coats of Indiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Bob Corker of Tennessee, Dean Heller of Nevada, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Mark Kirk of Illinois, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Rob Portman of Ohio, and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania. Sen. Pat Moran, R-Kansas, did not vote.

Yes, the usual set of RINOs/DIABLOs.  Will they be "punished" by Republican leadership?  Hahahahaha, they will probably get the really prime committee assignments while the other 34 are shoveled to the side.

20 Blue States have the most segregated schools in the nation.  Southern States were not even in the running.  Perhaps the Southern States should put together some marchers to go and demonstrate in NY, CA, etc.   Joking aside though, is this really a problem?  What this article doesn't mention is that this is a "voluntary" thing.  Blacks like to live among blacks, whites like to live among whites.  This results in local schools being essentially one race.   The real problem is the federal government which has long shit on the South with the 1964 Civil Rights act by requiring "forced bussing" to achieve mixed school populations.  When they did that in Boston there were riots, so that requirement went away.

Johnson was one of the most popular Ziegfeld girls of the jazz age, performing in the  Follies  and associated musical comedies from 1922 until her retirement in 1930. She was considered to be  Ziegfeld house photographer  Alfred Cheney Johnston's favorite model, and began posing nude for him in her  teenage years. Her statuesque draped nude photographs are among Johnston's most famous images.  I can't link to any, but google for her images and you'll spend a pleasant time enjoying her succulent beauty.

59 The unrelenting push for amnesty for illegals seems to be ramping up, according to Vic's pro-illegal headlines. Between Clownifornia's latest efforts, the government in DC's felonious actions -- or have we repealed laws against breaking/ignoring the law? -- and Joltin' Joe Biden's latest yammerings (see Breitbart, seems to me the liberals have simply decided to open the borders completely, never mind the wishes of the public, the law (there's that pesky thing again!) and the pathetic state of the economy.

All of which brings me to a conclusion: a whole shitload of "hills-not-to-die-on" can be combined to the point where they become one gigantic mountain that we will die on.

Just watched the interview from yesterday with Obama saying Russia needs to quit playing rough and grow up.  Whoever said Obama is articulate needs to be taken out and shot.

Obama is not an orator in the classic sense, he is a reader.  He does great when he reads other peoples words from the teleprompter, but when he is on his own, he sucks.

That man is barely able to string two sentences together without ten uh's and a couple of ummm's.  He is an embarrassment when he speaks without the teleprompter.  Now I know why he takes it everywhere.

I watched about a minute before I had to turn it off.  I counted over a dozen uh's and ah's in that time.  He is pathetic without TOTUS.

75 An Obama-nominated federal judge recently ruled that constructing a fence along the U.S./Mexico border may have a “disparate impact” on minorities living in nearby communities and therefore must be studied further. As a result, the D.C. District Court has ordered that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) must divulge strategic planning information for academic and border activist review. Simply put, disparate impact theory holds a party liable if an action or policy leads to varying results along protected minority lines, despite neutral intentions or execution. A common example takes the form of a police academy requiring all incoming cadets be able to bench press 150 pounds. In this hypothetical scenario, a number of female applicants could claim such an impact. In the recent federal court case, Gilman v. DHS, University of Texas Professor Denise Gilman sought to study the “human rights impact” risked in building a border fence according to federal law. Professor Gilman hoped to access Homeland Security records to better understand how construction resources would be allocated and whether adverse impacts could be expected in minority communities. The court eventually granted her access to the information. Liberalism run a muk

The irony being that the response shows our own immature and unserious nature as a government and a nation. And no, Obama is not the reason for that, just the most malignant symptom.

84 When we feel abandoned by God: We should never abandon ourselves to God so fully as when He seems to abandon us. Let us enjoy light and consolation when it is his pleasure to give them to us, but let us not attach ourselves to his gifts, but to him. When he plunges us into the night of pure faith. let us still press on through agonizing darkness....the soul is discouraged but feels nevertheless an immovable will to bear everything God may chose to inflict. It wills everything and accepts everything even the troubles that test its faith..so in the very height of the tempest, the waters beneath are secretly calm and at peace because it is one with God's will. Blessed be the Lord who performs such great things in us not withstanding our unworthiness! Francois De La Mothe Fenelon See Revelation 2:9-11 And a note on that passage from the "Life Application Bible" "Pain is part of life, but it is never easy to suffer, no matter what the cause. Jesus commends the church at Syrmna for its faith in suffering. He even encourages the believers by saying that they need not fear the future if they remain faithful. Don't let difficult times turn you away from God. Instead let them draw you towards greater faithfulness. Trust God and remember your heavenly reward. (See Rev. 22:12-14)

87 Kansas SWAT Team Raids Family Home After Finding Tea Leaves In The Garbage By Brian Anderson March 26, 2014 Downtrend.com http://tinyurl.com/n7tnnzy So this Super Trooper sees a clean-cut middle-aged man coming out of a Home Depot-type establishment and instantly goes, “Holy sh*t, that guy is growing weed.” Now it gets even creepier. The cops followed Harte back to his house and started going through his garbage. Because, you know, people don’t smoke or sell marijuana; they throw it away. The cops found a substance that turned out to be his wife’s favorite tea, “field tested” it and determined erroneously it was illegal drugs. A lab later tested the substance and proved that it was, in fact, tea. No matter; the cops had all they needed to get a warrant. Guy coming out of a hardware store? Check. Tea bags in the garbage can? Check. Assemble the assault team. Harte has filed a federal lawsuit against the Police. == Good Morning, Vietnam! first broadcast http://tinyurl.com/mnpw27d Was it just being white middle aged conservative looking that drew the ire of a drug SWAT home invasion at the "correct" address of innocent people framed by the police? Police pussy type bullies pick the easiest patsy to frame during months long investigation that found NO EVIDENCE to support police target of innocent suspect. Malicious sport AND sheer incompetence. Did the victim ever have any cross dealings with the corrupt officers prior, getting tagged by a police vendetta? Is this couple registered to vote in a party other than DNC; have they ever attended a town hall meeting or been cast as "TEA Party" types, or go to the "wrong" place of worship? Or are Kansas Police just THAT severely far gone?

88 I need the Prayer of St. Francis this morning. Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace; Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is error, truth; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek To be consoled as to console; To be understood as to understand; To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

91 An unspoken corollary to the integrated schools thing is the flight to private schools in many of the "integrated" areas. I found statistics a while back indicating that Delaware has the most enrollment per-capita in private schools.

What that leaves is a very integrated looking group of publics while the privates are not so.

May the greatest of all divine attributes, that of Your unfathomable mercy, pass through my heart and soul to my neighbor. Help me, O Lord, that my eyes may be merciful, so that I may never suspect or judge from appearances, but look for what is beautiful in my neighborsÂ’ souls and come to their rescue. Help me, O Lord, that my ears may be merciful, so that I may give heed to my neighborsÂ’ needs and not be indifferent to their pains and moanings. Help me, O Lord, that my tongue may be merciful, so that I should never speak negatively of my neighbor, but have a word of comfort and forgiveness for all. Help me, O Lord, that my hands may be merciful and filled with good deeds, so that I may do only good to my neighbors and take upon myself the more difficult and toilsome tasks. Help me, O Lord, that my feet may be merciful, so that I may hurry to assist my neighbor, overcoming my own fatigue and weariness (...) Help me, O Lord, that my heart may be merciful so that I myself may feel all the sufferings of my neighbor. (...) May Your mercy, O Lord, rest upon me" (Diary of St Faustina Kowalska).

True enough, though I would call "white flight" taking care of my children. Regardless of the color of the students still in the public system, it is dysfunctional and dangerous. It is also stupidly expensive as the answer to all discipline and emotional problems is more and more non-teaching staff. Since adding more staff never alleviates any of the problems, more staff is always needed.

Oh and we are under the eye of the Feds (and have been since at least the Bush admin) for uneven discipline according to race. Disparate impact and all that.

You'll never see this viewpoint presented whenever the apparatchiks get their begging cups out for MOAR TAX MONEYS in one of their Soviet style  "elections" where only one outcome is allowed or they'll come back in a couple months and the voters be damned.  If you're in an area with shitty schools, the only kids there are present because either the parents can't afford to send them elsewhere or they don't care about the education of their children.  And in the latter group I include dogmatic libs who think that public schools are the holy grail of, the country despite their not being mentioned at any place in the Constitution.  I've told one such zealot that she's guilty of child abuse for putting her dumbass opinion of the greatness of public schools over the well being of her son.  Needless to say, it wasn't a pleasant chat.

149 The thing is though, if somebody looked into doing a little research, I bet you would find that rock bands who release hit singles with the title being one word, the name of some girl, it's their "jumped the shark" moment.

--

Every band has to have a Bic lighter song.

MP4, I completely understand your taking a break from all this.  It's all so depressing, and I don't see a lot right now that makes me think we'll ever turn this ship around.  Most of the R's have no desire to do so either, our borders are wide open as we cater to every illegal, be it Hispanic or radical Islamic in nature, and Barry controls the media.  Things are pretty snafu in America.

151 Hmm. "Windy" by the Association; "Wendy" by the Beach Boys; "Michelle" by the Beatles; "Angie" by the Rolling Stones; "Tracy" by the Cufflinks "Dawn" by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. There might be something to this theory. *dons the Music Professor mortarboard and plays with the tassel for a minute* Perhaps this theory would be best applied to bands who aren't known for ballads, as Kiss certainly isn't. Alice Cooper could be included with Only Women Bleed. However, neither Kiss nor AC realized any real damage to their careers other than shocking some critics. IMHO, none of the aforementioned bands suffered either, and it would be well-nigh unpossible for the Beatles or the Stones to ever JTS.

182 Condi doesn't want to be POTUS; and she ESCHEWS full blown campaigning. She is a team player from the former administration which is taking turns sounding sirens, prep the public for the next ballot. Condi knows Russia, fluent in Russian. No "reset" faux pas from the Berkeley professor. What criticisms Condi lays against the Obama administration will have credit. I'd be surprised if she were to play into the idiotic "Putin is pure evil" syndrome that lazy losers fall back on while licking self inflicted wounds. Condi's too smart to show her cards up front, and too well disciplined to speak poorly and lose credibility internationally, just for a headline. If she were to return to Washington, another Berkeley sabbatical, it would most likely be as Sec./State for the next administration. (Ever wonder how Rand Paul and Condi would coordinate different ideologies dealing with our current set of circumstances? And on who's going to run for POTUS, I think that Ted Cruz should be the Senate Majority Leader to best utilize his talents. No one frames arguments more succinctly than Cruz, cuts to the chase quicker than Ted, or would have the where with all required to rescind the post-constitutional Congressional agendas more effectively than Ted Cruz.)

I find myself particularly pissed when I see all the inequities that abound: it appears that Evil is winning. How can we have Heaven on Earth when the entire Earth is controlled by those who seek to extinguish the Light in every way possible? Then there's that one Bible passage that points to the bird, noticing how it doesn't have to labor (toil nor spin), for God has laid out everything it needs. I can't balance that with mine and B'Gal's physical needs that aren't being met. Then I look at people like BJ Cliton and his ilk and see the splendor within which they live: WTF? -----

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The ongoing fight for social media dominance between the United States and Russia has expanded again, this time to some of the internet's most popular video sharing sites.

The US Department of State has posted a video message on the website YouTube, which it has titled, "What we think of Vladimir Putin and the Russian Invasion of Ukraine." The video is a clip from the 1994 film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, and features Jim Carrey's titular character using his hands to make it appear that he is speaking out of his buttocks. The sound has been re-dubbed so that, instead of the original dialogue, viewers now hear various members of the Obama administration making loud and exaggerated noises meant to simulate someone passing gas.

The Kremlin has responded by posting a Vine clip of Russian President Vladimir Putin urinating on a picture of Barack Obama.

UPDATE: (8:04 PM EST) The State Department's YouTube video has been taken down due to copyright violations.

215 t's disturbing how many people, myself included, use the wikitards as their one-stop source of data on a variety of topics. I can't remember what specifically I did a search on recently but it was an event in history about which I was looking for a specific detail, which I found, and then saw how some of the underlying factors were badly misstated, all in a lib direction. It's really past time that I stop using it out of convenience and go to other sources. She's going to face a lot of challenges. Cochlear implants work best for people that have had hearing and lost it. For those that are deaf from birth, they, in many instances, are completely overwhelmed by the "noise". A lot of them end up disabling the implant. Plus, the deaf community can be a bit.....odd. VERY insular. If she's involved with the deaf community, well, I wouldn't expect a warm reception. At all.

235 A couple of observations about the busted ex-mayor of Charlotte. First a comment by the fellow who preceded him, Anthony Foxx. Foxx was co-chair of the Host Committee which arranged for a $10 Million loan in order to finance the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, which loan was then defaulted upon. All legit, you see? The Democrats pocket the money, spread it around, the DNC Host Committee evaporates, and that is that. If it were any other group, the fraud investigation would be well under way. At any rate, this is what Foxx had to say about Patrick Cannon when he was elected (just 4 months ago): "He’s a good politician. He knows this city well,” Foxx said. “He’s been around for 20 years doing things for the city. For him it’s just going to be a matter of waking up every day and getting after making the city better.” I note that what comes to Foxx's mind, rather than qualifying Cannon as a 'Good man', or a 'Man of experience', or 'Highly Qualified', Foxx's natural thought is that 'He's a good politician'. Meanwhile, Foxx, having paid his dues to the Democrat machine, has been appointed Sec. of Transportation by Obama. He has vast experience in such things, or not, as his sole qualification is the promotion of light rail in Charlotte, which nearly everyone else has opposed, including Cannon. As an aside, an excerpt here from the affidavit filed by the Feds: Cannon - "I mean, cause I'm not, I'm not one of those Chicago or Detroit type uh, folk. I'm a New Orleans, Louisiana] whatever it is, I, I, that's not how I flow."

236 I understand that life's a bitch and then you die, but why does everything, and I mean everything, have to be so difficult? I find myself particularly pissed when I see all the inequities that abound: it appears that Evil is winning. How can we have Heaven on Earth when the entire Earth is controlled by those who seek to extinguish the Light in every way possible? Then there's that one Bible passage that points to the bird, noticing how it doesn't have to labor (toil nor spin), for God has laid out everything it needs. I can't balance that with mine and B'Gal's physical needs that aren't being met. Then I look at people like BJ Cliton and his ilk and see the splendor within which they live: WTF? I spent years honing my craft only to have it taken away. I just don't get it. BB, I would rather suffer now on earth, than later for eternity.

248 The line-up of high profiles from former administrations voicing contempt for Obama's hopeless failures began with Kissinger's editorial advising Obama to do his history of Ukraine homework, and negotiating for "Mutual Dissatisfaction" as the best anyone could do now. Of course, it will be Bolton who comes out swinging for a great KO of bozo foreign policy. It would be great to have Bolton defend the US Constitutional Republic in the UN again in the next administration. But all this insanity of "more wars will contain war" isn't worth the tax funds being stolen from hard working Americans, and most certainly is NOT worth redeploying our troops non-stop in the politicians' never ending wars that curse the earth and all who are the "collateral damage" to war profiteering. Genocide of indigenous Christians throughout the Middle East and Central Asia at the hands of Muslim governments, nothing new since modernity 1915 (Armenia). What IS new: US FOREIGN POLICY results in genocide of Christians abroad. So Obama goes to the Pope, for confession, for clemency? To prove Obama's a Christian? To prove Obama's compassionate? During LENT with no humility shown?! I saw the photo op of the Pope and Obama standing, shaking hands. Obama didn't bow? I listened to Obama's press conference, and the idjit in effect called the Pope a liar. The Vatican reported issues discussed by mutual representatives, and Obama insisted that he purposely did not bring up issues of disagreement he admits having against the Pope. Obama reiterated that he had no such conversations with the Pope and that the Vatican is wrong to say that there was dialogue, and what points were made. Beyond sensibility. The Pope and Vatican failed to submit questions in advance?!! Every liar's last words under oath: I have no recollection. Hole in the bucket defense. [Hillary C. and A. Merkel share that in common regarding their personal professional political record. I know nothink!]

How can we have Heaven on Earth when the entire Earth is controlled by those who seek to extinguish the Light in every way possible? It is the Prince of Lies who promises Heaven on Earth. The same Jesus who told people not to worry because they were more important to God than birds and flowers ALSO said things like "if you hand causes you to sin, strike it off, for it is better to without your hand in Heaven than to be whole in Hell," and "take up your cross and follow me." Life does suck, at times. In my personal experience, it's always been those times that God was trying to get my attention about something- whether a lesson I needed to learn, or because I was starting to fall away. 284 Trilogy is probably their strongest, track for track. Brain Salad Surgery was my favorite as a teen. That creepy/cool cover. Love the way Lake sang "Jerusalem." Agreed. And you gotta like HR Geiger. "Jerusalem" followed by "Toccata" FTW! They played at the 'Bama campus on the BSS Tour in '74 and the guy who sat behind me in HS was one of the roadies. He sold me a patch which I still have.

300 The number one reason generic drugs are cheaper is because they are currently immune from suit. Glad this administration is so concerned for the consumers wallet or purse. Posted by: SE Pa Moron at March 28, 2014 07:20 AM (oGrEy) Indeed, and post marketing monitoring is usually left up to the original company. Such is the deal you cut when you take a patent for a drug. Which begs the question assuming you're not suing for an actual manufacturing issue (which is a different case), we're going to hold companies liable for using the data approved and presented by the FDA? This doesn't even make any sense. if generic drug companies are forced to validate the results of the other Pharma's you can expect them to just stop making generics.

308 180. thunderb "Get in their faces." Oooo, he likes talking the talk when attacking American citizens. Only when you already grabbed the upper hand with abusive power. The conflicted Obama is convoluted. Yes, he's jealous as all get out of Putin. But Obama hasn't a leg to stand on in this self-righteous indignation v. Russia. What Putin is achieving is what Obama meant to have achieved already, perhaps thought he'd already achieved. Foreign interventions, Obama's Joint Chiefs might be playing a shell game with our forces -- now they are here -- now they are there -- used up until they drop. Obama's point with intervention seems directed to kill and destroy as many and as much of our own military forces as possible while achieving futility abroad through the chaos of destruction, "level playing field" redistributed wealth of carnage, not only training the enemy terrorists, but making THEM his private army. (Initial 2008 campaign video.) Obama not only raided the massively wealthy central bank of Libya of its GOLD, he gave Gaddafi's entire massive military arsenal to our avowed enemies: AL QAEDA, Obama's ally. How dare the likes of Americans recognize this treachery and treason! So at home, Obama's criminal Justice Dept. with the IRS and the entire intelligence community with the NSA do attack civilian opponents of authoritarianism as the most dangerous threat against our national security. No Constitutional Republic for the likes of us citizens, so long as such remain in office. Inalienable Rights, to authoritarian disdain, REMAIN whether acknowledged or not.

309 Point taken, rickb223, but I do wonder how much suffering is enough sometimes. It just never seems to stop. Two things: 1- Make sure you're not suffering alone. Be with people who love you, and let them know what's going on inside. 2- This may or may not help, but from the man in the Bible other than Jesus who suffered quite a bit (prison, ship wrecks, attempted stonings, etc.) Romans 5:3-5 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 3 And not only this, but [a]we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

"Weekly Standard piece stating that there's little reason to believe Condi Rice is angling for a 2016 run likely to stoke commentary about whether Condi Rice is angling for a 2016 run."

I would tentatively support a Condoleeza Rice candidacy. Rice has a stellar intellect, for one thing. For another, she's an amazingly good communicator, straightforward, eloquent and to the point most of the time. However, I write 'tentatively' because I'm not really sure where Rice stands on abortion. The only time I've ever heard Rice hem and haw on any issue was when she was asked about her views on abortion. I'm guessing she occupies a middle ground somewhere, given her reputation as a quintessential moderate on most issues.

But yeah, I think Condoleeza Rice would pound Hillary into the ground in any debate, and she'd do it without Christie's bluster and bombast. Christie's a club, a blunt instrument. Condie Rice is that long, thin stilleto slid between the ribs.

Running with that analogy, I see Jeb Bush as a plastic spork. The day the Zeppo Marx of the Bush Family wins the GOP nomination (solely because of his Country Club Republican Establishment donor connections) is the day I'm no longer a Republican.
