— Gabriel Malor Happy Monday.
On this (putative) last day to sign up on the Obamacare exchanges, Sen. Angus King, Maine's independent that caucuses with the Democrats, insists "there's no such thing as Obamacare." Apparently, if people would just use another term for the failing, unpopular health care law, it would change what it does.
Oh, and as I write this Healthcare.gov's login process is down. No, I'm not kidding. Maybe a late surge has overwhelmed the servers?
Meanwhile, Democrats are still trying to figure out how to campaign on Obamacare before November.
Keep those Ask the Blog questions coming.

As much as I am dying to lay this all at the feet of a politicized NHTSA thanks to Obama, this started under Bush and the bulk of the action occurred under Bush.
You could just as easily read this as a "Bush and his corporate cronies" story.
However, I'd prefer to read it as a "Greedy GM and incompetent bureaucracy story." YMMV

I guess it would depend on what margin the Senate is taken over. Not that I would expect such a thing, but it would be schadenbonerlicious to be able to witness TFG's sole "achievement" being tossed out while shoving his overidden veto down his throat.
Sigh. One can fantasize...

Posted by: J.J. Sefton at March 31, 2014 07:33 AM (CMkNk)
The veto override and a cloture vote are two separate entities. It takes a 2/3 majority in both houses to override a veto per the Constitution. The 60 vote cloture rule is simply a Senate passed rule that can be revoked.

It is a bit depressing that the true believers seem to have such a monolithic and total control on the progressive dirty tricks agenda. Every once in a while some small Democrat fish is caught, but the media span of attention can be measured in minutes. The proof that there is an iron wall protecting the Democrats is that after all this time, not one of Barry's documents have leaked (transcripts, application, etc.).

Three words: Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
The RINOS have been digging this ditch or months. When they're not actively striking out at the Tea Party.

I've never understood this. Only RINO politicians think this is a good idea; the rank and file, across the spectrum, hate it. Can pleasing the Chamber of Commerce be important enough to alienate the entire. Freaking. Base?

Of course. It's one Mission Accomplished moment every week with these guys, but the MSM just whistles a little tune and talks about the Koch brothers.

Well I dunno. What kind of parties do you throw? Anybody they'd like to meet? How much money would get thrown at them if they showed up?

Not just alienate. Adding 11+ million new Dem voters will destroy any chance of Republican majority for, like, ever.
And the Dems know it. In fact, the UK Labour party did this a decade ago - intentionally increased immigration to dilute the conservative vote - and look at the UK now!

Terminus is strangely sleepy for such a destination point. I don't know what happened to the observing them for a while before entering.
NO perimeter security. Front gate not locked. Unarmed female cooking is the first person you meet?
