63 The FBI is investigating allegations that opponents of the carriage horse industry threatened to undermine Bill de BlasioÂ’s chief rival in last yearÂ’s mayoral race, Christine Quinn, if she didnÂ’t support their cause, the Daily News has learned. In the past few weeks, FBI agents have been asking questions about the campaign by the animal rights group NYCLASS to get Quinn to support a ban on the iconic carriages, two sources familiar with the matter told The News. Agents were interested in an incident that took place in early 2013, when Quinn was the City Council speaker and the clear front-runner for the Democratic nomination for mayor, the sources said. A political consultant hired by NYCLASS, Scott Levenson, twice approached aides to Quinn and allegedly told them that if she didnÂ’t back the proposed ban on carriage horses, they would spend big money on a political campaign attacking her. Two former L.A. County sheriff's deputies allegedly turned off the electricity and a security camera system inside a medical marijuana dispensary as they planted guns they used to justify two arrests, according to court documents.

Julio Cesar Martinez, 39, and Anthony Manuel Paez, 32, have been charged with two felony counts of conspiring to obstruct justice and altering evidence, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office. Martinez faces two additional felony counts of perjury and filing a false report.

78 I was "informed" that Hillery went to Libya, gave them 3 billion dollars, and the next thing that happened was Kadaffy was killed.

So it's her ruthlessness that is the key.

Anyway, that's my survey of one. The left loves Hilery because she's a better killer than anyone else.

There were deaths in Libya that the HMS Fatass was responsible for, four to be specific, but K-Daffy wasn't one of them.

86 In 2012, residents in Pittsfield Township, Michigan objected to the increased traffic and other intrusions that would have descended upon their quiet neighborhood with the construction of a massive new Muslim community center and school. But after residents spoke out publicly at a zoning meeting, a Muslim advocacy group is now harassing local citizens with subpoenas, demands to reveal private communications, and lawsuits. In a classic example of "lawfare"--using the law as a weapon-- the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), headed by executive director and founder Nihad Awad (pictured) is singling out individual Pittsfield residents whom the Muslim group identified as having spoken during the public comments segment of a local zoning board meeting. After the religious center's request for a building permit was denied back in 2012, CAIR filed a federal civil rights lawsuit and is now harassing these citizens with subpoenas demanding that they appear in depositions and hand over personal email communications on the matter. The American Freedom Law Center (AFLC) is coming to the aide of several Pittsfield residents who want to be left alone. One woman being represented by AFLC says her personal opinions expressed during the process back in 2012 should have no bearing on the lawsuit. The woman, AFLC said, "had no authority whatsoever to either grant or deny [the Muslim center's] rezoning application--she is a private citizen, not a public official. Her personal views, whether expressed to the Township, Township officials, or her neighbors, are not remotely relevant in this litigation." Animals

87 70 I visited San Fran in 2000. I had a brother in law (now ex) who lived a couple of blocks from Haight Ashbury. I was expecting that it would be all hippies and homos. (It was 2000, you could say that then. I denounce myself.). It wasn't.

It was the dot com era, and the place was full of yuppies then. It was gentrified by the dot com folks. Even my very artistic BIL was making piles of cash selling for Sun.

They didn't hate those people then.

I don't know what is different now.

So two clams, Henry Clam and Sam Clam, lived very different lives under the sea. Henry was a very good clam, always doing right by others, going out of his way to be helpful, and all of that. Sam, on the other hand, was an asshole clam. He would lurk under the sand and bite kids toes...just a mean-ass clam. But despite their differences, they always had special spots in their hearts for each other.

They both died.

Henry, of course, went straight to Heaven. He was doing OK in Heaven, what with the great Sunday brunches and the wholesome TV shows.  But he dearly missed his brother Sam.

Henry went to visit St. Peter.  "Pete," Henry said, "I must see my brother.  I miss him terribly.  Is there any way I could travel to the netherworld to say hello?"

St. Peter said "All Things Are Possible.  Of course you may.  But you may only go for 24 hours.  And while you are out of our realm, you MUST take this harp with you.  It's the only way you will be allowed back in."

So Henry takes the harp and goes to Hell.  He finds his brother...doing very well.  Sam owned several casinos, a disco, and quite a few bars.  Sam took his brother out on the town in Hell and showed him an awesome time.  They drank, they danced, they caroused.  And all too soon the hour came and Henry had to leave.  They embraced, sadly, one last time and Henry made his way back to Paradise.

At the gates, the guard looked Henry over and said "Harp, please."

Henry frantically looked and came to a stunning realization:

"Oh no!" he said, "I left my harp in Sam Clam's Disco!

146 That. Racist. Bastard. Now, let me talk about the Spanish people. You know I understand that they come over here against our constitution and cross our borders. But they’re here and they’re people – and I’ve worked side-by-side a lot of them. Don’t tell me they don’t work, and don’t tell me they don’t pay taxes. And don’t tell me they don’t have better family structure than most of us white people. When you see those Mexican families, they’re together, they picnic together, they’re spending their time together, and I’ll tell you in my way of thinking they’re awful nice people.

151 @139 A handful of representatives is not going to cut. The democrat party for all its faults is unified in obtaining its goals. It literally speaks with a single voice and relentlessly pushes its policy objectives. The GOP within the last 10 years has literally become foundationally unprincilpled. They are worthless in every way possible. For fucks sake they had a golden opportunity with the IRS scandal to hobble this administration and galvinize the republic against an agency I'm pretty sure even LIV despise. And what do we get, meaningless show committee hearings. GOP has simply become an alternate spelling of DNC.

Tenney Undefeated-2012 by Bill Sloan I think Daws' book is the best. He covers most of the Pacific War area and the experiences of Australian, British, Dutch and American POWs as well as their return from capitivity. What some countries did to their returning POWs is appalling. It is also the first book where I read about the Aussie and British POWs on Borneo where several thousand were literally marched to death in 1945. It's called the Sandakan Death march. From what I've seen of that, the most "racist" thing Bundy said was "negro." If that's "racist," then can we similarly send men with guns against the Board of the United Negro College Fund?

Here's what I'm not getting...was it "racist?" What I saw was a guy complaining that blacks are in a cycle of dependency that's little better, if at all, than slavery. I don't really see that as racist. I see it as tragic. And if criticizing that state of affairs is "racist," then the term "racism" no longer has any meaning. It's racist because some talking heads said it is?

But let's, for the sake of argument, think that it was "racist." So what? Does that make it OK for the government to send helicopters and men with guns against the man?

Funny thing about rights...it's not that big of a deal to protect the rights of people with whom you agree. What's tricky is protecting the rights of people you don't really like all that much. If it becomes OK to erase this man because he has an (allegedly) unpopular opinion, then the concept of "rights" becomes undone. Either rights belong to everyone or they belong to no one.

YMMV of course, but if we start waiting for perfect victims before we feel comfortable asserting our rights, then we may as well not have any rights.

GOPe sucks & there are only a few that are conservative. Most are DC Elites that will do anything to stay in office. They are not doing their jobs of representing us. Our Founding Fathers didn't expect them to make a career of it.

Inalienable Rights
Words have root definitions that revisionism can not alter.

Negro is simply Black. To call people racists for using foreign language words that translate into "black" in English is the epitome of racism.  That those who force taxpayers to fund bilingual everything (education, employees, forms) are the same who denounce the Spanish speaking to say "black" in another language is the root of hypocritical bigotry and insanity. To say that English or any other than Spanish speaking people  may not say "black" in Spanish is what the Left demands.

When Aqua Buddha dumped on the old fart in order to appear better than thou, it wasn't the first time Rand disappointed.

That loud mouth Beck lime played the self righteous bigot condemning any who aren't as pure as the former alcoholic jack Mormon, Jesus' condemnation came to mind of the whitened sepulcher full of corruption though white washed to please the eye.

These responses fall into Alex Jones' model, when he stabbed Debra Medina's GOP Governor Campaign in the back because she allowed people to have their own opinions, unlike Jones (like Hitler) who would annihilate any who get in his way as he "proves" himself a messiah on his crusade to kill all Free Masons and condemn our Founding Fathers while simultaneously claiming to honor them.

But it does play into the "this poor sod can't find a job because [minimum wage too low/ Income Inequality/ GLOBAL WARMING] and all these are because REPUBLICANS ARE EVIL!" lie that the liberals are also cultivating.

Campaign season is upon us, and the Left campaigns not by selling people on how great liberal policies are (since they suck) but rather by shouting about how their opposition is EVIL!!1!!

Anything that comes their way can be spun by a compliant media to feed that lie.  That's why they win elections.

219 I spent time in SF in the mid-60's when Carol Doda's was the national outrage. Now that Ernie's is gone and the Russian Tea Room changed hands, I see no reason to go back. But, perspective: "Vertigo" was shot in the mid-50's; its street scenes will move you to tears about how beautiful American cities used to be, and yet Jimmy Stewart's college pal (spoiler: he killed her) says, early on, "The things that meant San Francisco to me are all gone." It's part of the charm.

My great-uncle was a dairy farmer in upstate NY back when 60 cows was a volume operation. In those days, 1% milk was watered down, and you didn't want to be caught peddling it. They called it "blue." How fitting that the blue states should require blue milk.

There's a whole new alternate history to milk. Rather than "time immemorial," the mythos is that only a handful of people were lactose tolerant until one rough season just a few thousand years ago, when crops and hunting both failed and those who could milk, did, and survived at a much higher rate. Thus, lactose intolerance is presented as the natural state of mankind, something to which we must aspire, the same as the other attributes, poor, nasty, brutish, and short. Sounds like a progressive law firm.

220 NY Times edited Bundy to make him appear worse than he may or may not be, how shocking...not. My comments are published almost weekly in one of the local rags. Always edited. Today my comments went to a story about tree huggers that wish to stop the removal of dead trees in campgrounds. I advocated for the ever present Montana winds to drop a tree on their heads. According to the GF Tribune I said that the wind knocks over trees, then they changed my name. The media is full of pants wetting pissants, and they will portray anyone's message to fit the story that they wish told. Just ask Sarah Palin.

223 182 Full video and transcript --------- From what I've seen of that, the most "racist" thing Bundy said was "negro." If that's "racist," then can we similarly send men with guns against the Board of the United Negro College Fund? There's no math involved, even though it's all numbers.  It's all logic.  There are children's soduku versions with most of the squares filled in.  I am trying to get my son interested in it.  It will definitely keep their brains chugging along as they try to figure out what number goes where.  The game is surprisingly easy, but challenging as you increase the difficulty level.

Comprehensive Legislative Reform Packages are the means that dissolve Constitutional Governance.

To those bamboozled by Levin's call for a Constitutional Convention, to hell with another well intended means for insiders behind the scenes to usurp Constitutional Governance from the hands of those intent on integrity.

We already have our Constitution and our Bill of Rights. We don't need a convention, to play into the hands of usurpers with the power/money to coerce people to fall in line, despite the angry peasants at the Insider castle walls.

What we need is to rescind the extraneous baggage, the overbearing authoritarianism that government officials have created for their own profits and self aggrandized empowerment at dire consequence to US Citizenry AND the US Constitutional Republic.

There have been a LOT of former Reagan administration voices calling from the desert.

238 I've known lots of Clive Bundys. Good, hardworking people who are not uneducated, but are unsophisticated by some measures, so they speak the blunt, direct language of an earlier age. A dear neighbor sometimes remarks about blacks in ways that "sophisticated" ears might hear as racist. And, to a certain degree, it is, but not much. I know he is speaking of the culture, not the race, really. I expect he knows about rules & exceptions, that blacks are hardly alone in that culture, and that (as is often noted here) there is a self-denigrating culture among American blacks specifically which keeps themselves down. So, "those people" refers to a specific set of black culture, not all of that skin. I know he knows the kind of good, kind, hard-working Christian blacks, such as those who (like my neighbor) were employed by my family back in the day, people still dear to my heart as family. When I hear such remarks, I sometimes try to gently 'correct' the way he talks about it, more FTR than anything. I don't expect he'll change his manner of speech and quit embarrassing his citified grandkids. I'm not trying to change his thinking, really, because like what Bundy said, it's right, just poorly-put by some standards. Besides, he's a wiser, smarter, stronger, harder-working, more successful businessman and father, a more moral, more generous man, than I can ever hope to be, so I tip in my tiny bit of ejjimicated soffistication with utmost humility. Not that it necessarily shows. _____ Guess that's my t.l. for today.

The administration agreed in principle, and brought the fait accompli to the deans of the medical school, who objected strongly, opining that the majority of graduating MDs would almost certainly boo any and every mention of ACA, embarrassing both the speaker and the university. Covert approaches were made to student leaders, who seconded the faculty opinion. The invitation was rescinded, to the near-universal chagrin of the non-medical faculty and adminstrators. I've generally stayed away from the Bundy story, for whatever  reason, but this of course is another illustration  of the WAY  the right and left battle these days.

The left keys in on ways to exploit the situation to their advantage, and the first reaction on the right is whatever they want  to call it.  Soul searching, apologizing, reacting as if the msm reporting is correct factually before  realizing it's not.

The sum of  it is, of course,  that the left gets out in front of the argument, and the right plays catch-up.  Happens all the time.

And every time it does, I go back to the way Breitbart handled these things.  He threw it right back at them, immediately.  You call me racist?  I'm not!  Show me  what you THINK  I said or did that  is racist, and I will challenge EVERY stinking word that comes out of your mouth!

We don't do that.  None of us.  He seems to have been the only one who  did, and now he's silent.  Which is awfully convenient for  the left.  The one person who stood toe to toe with them, and now he's gone.

You'd think that the black robed tyrants might take in consideration that there used to be fifty ranchers (I think I've seen that number used before) in the area and now Bundy's the last one; and maybe, just fucking maybe, the feds have caused this massively fucked up situation in adherence to no overriding national interest in bending over ranchers that anybody ever voted on.  Fucking monkeys.

275 Anyone encountering the inactivity inherent to people living on welfare in group housing (black or white) can sense the obvious problems there. But to make the simplistic incoherent leap to claim that blacks would be better off with the activity that goes with slavery is an indictment of Bundy's thought process. I'm not an expert on racism, but it was a very lame analogy. And that has nothing to do with the BLM trying to take 90K acres on the Texas border. The are a dangerous bureaucratic malignancy completely separate from the current questions about Bundy's character.

On Constitutional Governance, Yes. Long past time to coagulate and stop the bleeding. Third Party, sooner than later.

Attempting to "cure" the Republican Party is beyond Herculean task, when Republicans as a WHOLE (specifically, the Republican National Party Leadership and body of elected Republicans in office) are content with their world view, that being authoritarianism benefiting the transnational corporations and destroying the so-called Middle Class populations around the world. It's so much easier to rule rather than govern when everyone but the Oligarchy is a serf (or slave).

It isn't as if we're not already at the Gate reading "Abandon all hope, ye that enter" via arbeit macht frei, despite being boomers whose parents "won" WWII. Marxism (authoritarianism) is nothing new being Socialism succinctly denounced by Jacques Bastiat; nor is the Progressive Movement already in force late 19th Century.  Btw, H.G.Wells wrote his expectations that included hopes as well as questions, whether results would be good or bad, given "Progressive" politics that led to a global, never ending 1940 War which in turn led to an epidemic of the Wandering Illness of death wherein any who appeared "touched" were shot dead on sight, purging the population of any who would not submit to the new war lord.

297 Essentially I think the problem is too many on the right think the media war is a "winnable conventional war" never grasping it is in fact a nuclear killing jar. The way to win a war is to fight to win, not play to lose. We can beat the Left with their own tactics without debasing ourselves in the same manner. It just means that we have to attack and stop playing defense. The Left, like the NVA and VietCong, never stood a chance fighting us on our terms. All they had to do was keep a body count in the news. Keep us on defense. The best you can do is hope not to lose, but winning is out of the question. Rhetoric is the same way - if you're defending, you're losing. We fight on their ground constantly and get our asses kicked, or just force them to attack a different point. It's dismaying to watch. Breitbart was one of the few that got it. We really couldn't spare him. All you have to do is attack. That magnificent bastard had a sitting Donk pol and darling of the left hand over his press conference to him. They feared Breitbart because he attacked. /war metaphor off

306 Chinless Fuckstick cancels speech because he is a pussy. http://tinyurl.com/ltunc4b (warning - autoplay) Apologies for the long text but I know autoplay can be damn annoying. Attorney General Eric Holder canceled an appearance before the Oklahoma City Police Department’s graduating cadet class Thursday amid angry protests over his scheduled visit. Mr. Holder was expected to deliver remarks at the afternoon graduation ceremony, according to his official itinerary sent out by the Justice Department Thursday morning. A Justice Department spokesman denied that the trip was canceled because of the possibility of a hostile reception. An early meeting at the Justice Department delayed Mr. Holder’s departure from Washington, causing him to miss the graduation ceremony, spokesman Brian Fallon said in an email. “The attorney general had been looking forward to addressing the cadets, and regrets he cannot attend in person,” Mr. Fallon said. “He extends his heartfelt congratulations to the cadets and their families.” But Mr. Holder’s scheduled visit to Oklahoma City drew the criticism of several conservative lawmakers who planned the protest in anticipation of his arrival, including Republican state Rep. Paul Wesselhoft, who has said he believes that Mr. Holder should be impeached. “Our protest has turned into a victory celebration because we frankly didn’t want him here — and we succeeded,” Mr. Wesselhoft said in an interview. “This man has used his position to advance his own political agenda and that’s not right. He swore to uphold the U.S. Constitution and defend it for all of us — not some of us.”

334 One of the greatest mistakes that was done with Eyes Wide Shut was to update it to modern times.  They should have left the story in the late 1920s and then some of the imagery and actions of the club become more comprehensible since they would fit with the world outside.

Though the grandmaster dressed up as a Venetian Doge probably would have still sailed over many people's head.

We are doomed not to win because the "moderate right" allows the psychotic Leftoid Academic/Legal/Infortainment/Civil Service complex to define OUR battlespace....

It's not that we are getting beat it is that WE are getting beat....

being a hermit means you can take the time you'd have spent learning socialization skills for a culture you loathe and instead become a renaissance man WRT skills.

Anyhow keep your head down, but your eyes ahead and live the best life you can....

that small victory enrages the left.

358 On the subject of an Article V convention and the breakup of the United States. It seems to me that is something that Vladimir Putin would be very much in favor of. Whether Putin is a Communist or a Russian nationalist, for the last century, the primary obstacle to Russia's ambitions has been the United States. If the US were to be replaced on the North American continent by two or more mutually hostile nations, Russia would have a much freer hand to engage in its imperialist dreams. To the extent that lefties in the blue states still get their marching orders from Russia, that would tend to make them favorably disposed towards a breakup. To the extent that a red state coalition would need nuclear weapons in order to survive for the first year or so if the leftists did not want to let so many tax cattle escape their control, Putin might well be disposed to make such weapons available. The end result would be a bit tough on Poland and the other former Warsaw Pact nations that are now part of NATO, not to mention the other NATO countries who were content to let the US provide their national security for more than half a century while they used their taxes to create socialist utopias, but, my giveafuck for Europeans, or pretty much any foreigners is even lower than it is for red state Americans.

Given that the inability to homestead this land is a political taking.
If the argument settles that the cultural, political and electoral differences are along urban and rural lines then raising kids and cattle on this land would shift the balance of power politically.
Anyway, kind of current with Bundy and Ukraine parallels.

'The president has been criticized for having no visions or leadership to solve domestic and diplomatic problems, some even ridiculing him as the worst president of the postwar era.' 'The biggest reason – of many – for the collapse of his reputation is his failed relationship with his wife,' Hamada claimed 'It is an open secret that the pair are already negotiating their divorce, and that they are waiting for his term in office to be over, and then they'll separate.' He had stiff words for the impact of the first lady's multimillion-dollar 'goodwill' trips to far-flung places on the taxpayers' dime. The Japanese pol claimed that 'if you ask the president, he will tell you, "I can't show my face to the voters after how she's spent so much money".' 'On the other hand,' Hamada added, 'if you get his wife to talk, she'll tell you: "The president is a pathological philanderer. He uses the Secret Service for this, and has used them to hide evidence that he's a cheater".'

It just goes on and on, my friends -

Some people started singing it, not knowing what it was,

And now they'll kepp on singing it forever just because

This is the song that never ends. . .

408 Good on that kid. I've taught my kids how to properly eye-gouge in the case of a kidnapping, but that's just me. My kids have been instructed to bite, claw, kick, and scream as much as possible. And I'm only quasi kidding about not handling the mis-remembered lyrics thing. No. Even if they did, there's not much they could do about it. Things change drastically once you hit about 13. Then fighting becomes a reasonable option (under the right circumstances) at least as a way to delay your attacker or convince them to pick on easier prey. Before that? No child is going to be able to do more than inconvenience an average adult who means them harm.

443 The bodies of 48 girls wearing lifejackets have been discovered in a single cabin, divers searching the sunken South Korean ferry have revealed, as questions arise over how much cargo the vessel was carrying. As frustrated relatives of those missing on the sunken Sewol ferry vented their anger at the pace of the search efforts, rescuers said the bodies of the 48 girls had been discovered in a cabin with a capacity of 30. ... Meanwhile, an opposition politician has also claimed he has documents from the Korean Register of Shipping which show the ferry was carrying more than three and a half times more cargo than regulators allowed.

I offer a quote: ----- "It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money. Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barter'd your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth? Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil'd this sacred place, and turn'd the Lord's temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redress'd, are yourselves gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors. In the name of God, go!"

You could also stomp on the feet at the same time. Takes a little practice, but some simple moves done quickly can deter an attacker.
