— Gabriel Malor Happy Tuesday.
According to a Forbes contributor, Putin's Human Rights Council accidentally posted the real turnout numbers from the referrendum-at-gunpoint in Crimea. Only 15 percent of Crimean citizens voted for annexation.
Also, a new Russian law requires bloggers to register by name with Russia's media oversight agency.
And Putin signed a law banning swearing in film, television, theatre, and the media. This fuckin' guy.

They may be able to drag out the court dates like they have done with Holder's criminal contempt, but they can not ignore a criminal contempt citation.

11: " I am sure since he is a former prosecutor he knows how to issue a criminal contempt citation."
Once Holder says he won't enforce anything, what can really be done by the House on this? If the administration ignores every law and requirement that it wants to, what is there but impeachement.
And unless we get a 2/3 majority in the Senate, that won't grow legs either will it?

Well it would certainly force Boehner's hand on impeachment and I don't think the MFM could ignore that. Levin has made the point that the Praetorian Media has to be at least regarded as the enemy by this committee and be prepared to take their message directly to the American people. That might call for a bunch of RINOs to get off their fainting couches and conduct some dreaded town halls. Oh the humanity.

Nitrate doped fabric, IIRC. VERY flammable. Hydrogen will ignite and essentially dissipate but yes, it was the doped fabric that caught fire.
Posted by: J.J. Sefton at May 06, 2014 07:06 AM (CMkNk)
This is decidedly in dispute. There are others who have shown that while the skin of the Hindenburg would burn if exposed to flame (such as burning hydrogen), if the heat source was removed the skin material would self extinguish. Yes, it was "doped fabric", but it was not made of "rocket fuel", or even all that flammable in general. First, last and always, boys, remember Occam's Razor...

Yes, true. But consider...
-DC is a weird place (news flash!). There are a lot of poor in the city who are the exact people that Obamacare is supposed to "help." But they aren't buying insurance for various reasons. Conservatives predicted this.
-When you hear the Administration trumpet how signups are going so well, it's clear the empirical evidence is at odds with Administration claims.
-It's not just DC residents...if you work in DC but live in NoVA or Maryland you'll still be paying that 1% tax on your insurance.

Bit of historical trivia about those blimps for the horde...
In the late 1960s Goodyear built a new base, hangar and all, for it's blimp, tail number N6A at a site north of Houston. Goodyear kept the blimp here during the winter months. At the time of the base's opening, there was a story in the local paper about a mystery that surrounded N6A. The gondola it had was originally from the WW II-vintage US Navy blimp L-5, around which there was a rather spooky story.
During World War II, the L-5 was on ASW patrol off the coast of California. The crew radioed in that they had spotted a suspicious oil slick and were going to investigate. No further contact was ever made with the L-5, and it was overdue for several days. The the blimp was spotted pinned on the side of a hill near the Golden Gate. Navy authorities set out to recover it, but the wind shifted and the blimp moved away before they could arrive. The L-5 flew over San Francisco proper, descended, landing on a downtown Frisco street, rolling up to an intersection where it stopped, engines still running at idle speed. Several people ran up to grab it so it would not drift off again. Naturally they looked inside the gondola for the crew. There was no one inside.
The Navy theorized that somehow the two man crew fell out while checking the oil slick, and with the engines at idle the blimp drifted back to shore. But what happened to the crew will always be a mystery.

Ten years ago the Superbowl was scandalized by a glimpse of Janet Jackson's nipple piercing. This years superbowl ads included dick jokes, jokes about anal, and jokes about blowjobs. They didn't "show" anything, but they were way less tasteful than an attractive woman's boob.

Caitlin Tagner, a high school sophomore from North Carolina, is very clear about who she blames for her school's "nasty" lunches: "I blame Michelle Obama." It's great that schools are trying to make lunches better, they're not doing a very good job of it. "Starving kids at school isn't exactly a way to (get) kids' obesity down," Tagner added. "I feel like it's just been taken too far." On Monday, the Associated Press reported that some school nutrition directors want the Department of Agriculture of loosen up the new-ish lunch requirements so students will stop throwing away their food.

There is a reason I dropped my cable. $80/month for crap is a waste of money. The only thing my TV is used for now is watching movies that I buy. And most all of those are more than 10 years old. The last one I bought was John Wayne in El Dorado (1966) which was recently released on Bluray.

....and that will probably require armed insurrection.

I was just thinking about how to dismantle all this, starting in 2017 (and there is some that the new Congress can do to prepare, starting in 2015). It comes down to 4 things. Money. People. Investigations. Administrative actions. Will explain in 4 posts below.

Eh, you're certainly right. Poor choice on my part to include Perry.
Fact is, whoever you want to name, they are going to have baggage. Perry in this case, quite a bit more. In the end, a politician is a politician, they all play the game to get there and want to preserve their power by whatever means necessary.
The broader point I was trying to make is that we are beginning to see the backlash against the statists. Now is the time to get folks out there to be seen with a message that appeals to a broader group. Bush/Santorum/Huckabee are NOT the people to be making that message.

People - it will take a generation to root out the civil service leftists, but reducing headcount in some departments will be a good start. We need to burrow our people into the career civil service, and this needs to be a mission from January 21, 2017.

Followed this closely. Got really discouraged and now no longer do. But I caught a few clips the other day. Don't know who was who but it was frightening. Very kristelnacht like. Unidentifiable thugs in black breaking windows, entering buildings, armed, people inside, street dress, backs up against the wall, frozen in time, hands up.
And nothing. No one does anything. Criminal.

My company also has the motivational posters with the smiling people and cheesy slogans. Stuff like excellence and exceptionalism, customer-focus, dedication and passion, off-world colonies, blah blah blah.
First thing I look for when doing an on site interveiw. If the potenial employer has "those" posters hanging up, it's a red flag of papered over problems.

A criminal contempt citation - what is next, writing it in his permanent record, putting him on double secret probation?

Holder's criminal contempt citation is in the DC Circuit court now. He has lawyers dragging it out hoping he can drag it out until out of office and they will drop it. It is not being ignored.

This is just common-sense regulation to ensure the safety of the public. Nobody is coming to take your keyboard away.
Mothers Against Internet Incitement supports free speech, but we believe common-sense solutions can help decrease the escalating epidemic of anonymous incitement, via the internet, of riots and terrorim that kills too many of our children and loved ones every day. Whether the violence happens in urban Moscow, outside the Golden Ring, or in the southern oblasts, we must act now on new and stronger blogging laws and policies to protect our children.

I'm sorry that you don't understand. Holder is ignoring[\i] the citation by not complying with Congress and by continuing the contempt. The Lawyers are just window dressing to make it look like there is some sort of legal process at work and that the administration obeys the laws of the land - they obviously don't.
Bottom line: attempting to arrest a key member of this regime would be like the German legal system in the 1930's attempting to arrest the chancellor or the minister of propaganda. Yeah, that would have worked.
