— Open Blogger

Team USA beat team Russia in Olympic hockey this morning. The USA won in a shoot out on a great goal by TJ Oshie. You can see the box score numbers here. I will post a video if I can. The game just ended ten minutes ago.

A Vine of the game winning goal below the fold.

8 It's interesting that the interviewers try to draw out the players into self-agrandizing statements, and they just don't bite.

61 Although there's no comparison, I actually enjoyed the Women's Cross-Country Relay this morning. There was an exciting finish with the Swede, in distant third place, busted her ass and took first place in the last 100 yards or so. And, she was outside her own sport. She's usually a sprinter and not a distance competitor. Team USA was way back on that one.

227 NBC really fucked up the coverage. People want to see things live and with out all the blah blah blah. The fact that pink eye thought he was the center of the olympics and wouldn't go the fuck home, is an example of how stupid NBC is. *** About 85% of what I have seen of the Olympics has been on the sports channel, sometimes at 3 or 4 in the morning. 292 I go to half the Blues games, and Oshie definitely has some great hands, but his all around game is solid.  Also enjoyed seeing Backes piss off the commies with regularity.  And finally, it was great being able to enjoy Quick's performance in net.  That guy is uber-aggressive taking away angles, and lateral agility is off the charts good.   He sticks it to the Blues every time, and I usually hate that guy, purely out of respect.
