War on Women: XXers favor Rs by 14 Points in Generic Ballot
— CAC

It should surprise nobody that the GWU-Battleground Poll is my personal favorite. The combined effort of the Tarrance Group and Lake Research, it has almost 400 pages worth of cross tabs, and the latest release has a real doozy buried within on the generic ballot question (overall, Republicans have a two-point edge). Unemployed men are planning to vote one-point more Republican than their employed counterparts. Among women, however, who overall break by six for the Democrats, and whose employed subset break 48-34 for the Democrats, unemployed women split evenly, 41-41.

A point is nothing, but a fourteen-point disparity? A few folks on Twitter wondered if stay-at-home Moms were included in that, possibly mucking the result, and the must-follow Logan Dobson clarified promptly:

As soon as I can get a hard link, I'll try to attach the crosstabs for you poll junkies. Moderates break narrowly for the Republicans and Hispanics are evenly split, two groups Republicans have been trying to win over. But if I were a Republican looking for a small bloc showing surprising favor (and a means of hammering back against the idiotic "WoW"), there you go.

"the GWU-Battleground Poll is my personal favorite"

11/6/2012

The presidential race is tied going into Election Day. The final POLITICO-George Washington University Battleground Tracking Poll shows Romney and Obama each claiming 47 percent nationally. New laws in places like Florida and Pennsylvania related to the handling of provisional ballots raise the very real possibility that the winner will not be known today.

Ehhh --- close enough.

Is there no vetting at all for accuracy by RCP? Why hasn't anyone analyzed what is going on there since Scott Rasmussen sold the poll company last summer. Since then, Rasmussens has shown the Idiot's popularity going in the exact opposite direction of everyone else's poll.

Those jobs are dependent upon more and more government. So they vote for the government party.

42 I'm a stay-at-home mom by choice and so are 95% of my friends. We're all Reagan kids - raised during the best of times through our adolescene and early 20's. And even though we were too young to understand politics, we remember what it was like to live through the late 70's - gas lines, food shortages, our parents living paycheck to paycheck because of out of control inflation. Every one of us is a conservative. So I'm thinking if they expanded that poll to include SAMs, it would skew A LOT differently.

I'm not the progenitor of   said word -- *tips hat to AtC* -- but it strikes me as the kind that could be used as both a noun AND a verb.

For example:

NOUN:  "A    cuntling in an  electric blue Dodge Neon passed me   on a double yellow line going 50 in a 30mph zone this morning."

VERB:  "I see Obama's cuntling again."

In verb form, "cuntling" would mean "to    be     mincing and weak."

107 $.02 bet says the employed women voters leaning Democrat think that this protects their human rights though the opposite proves real. What IS protected is their employment status, given a work environment pro-Democrat for now. Now that Obamacare's Democrat Congress and Administration forced health insurance into the unattainable or extraordinarily expensive realm, it isn't simply the service industry union and the clerical female workforce, but also the public educators joining the disillusioned Democrat Party female fray. And health care is but one matter bringing economic ruin. Even were it not so, the global economy has already begun its Debt Is Gold collapse. Not thinking the disillusioned Democrats would swallow GOPRINO Leadership propaganda, though. When all hell breaks loose, God only knows what difference a political affiliation will make. Rather, economic stratification will likely play out in the divisive world. Example: Barbara Bush (whose looks kill) loves the Clintons.

110 The last unemployment report from the Labor Dept.  included a statement that 77,000 new jobs were created last month.  Insty had a link to post that all of those jobs were retail and service work claimed entirely by women.  Men actually lost 1,000 jobs.  28-hour caps on part-time work per week (with no benefits) is putting the hurt on a lot of households.  Republicans should concentrate their anti-Obamacare rhetoric on eliminating the 28-hour week limit.

The TRO isn't that unusual. That TRO language is pretty usual in the initial filing for divorce now, especially where the filing spouse is mad at the other.

But, but: Having a hearing on it is unusual because that usually means the divorce is contested. And so, the party who is to be restrained must have an opportunity to be heard within a certain number of days after the TRO is filed.

Which, may call into question the "voluntarily" gave up custody.

Y'oughta see the San Fernando Valley for store closings. Even the once trendy Ventura Blvd looks like a ghost town, boarded up storefronts, mom & pop businesses which had been open for years, even chains folding locations. Here in Panobamarama City, it looks like the Mexico I remember visiting in the early 60s, a shit-hole of trash, torn-up streets & sidewalks. Most of the signage HERE is in Spanish. Cons fresh from "realignment" (court-ordered en-bloc early release of "non-violent" prisoners) and their wonderful contribution to the environment here. An entire square city block on Roscoe east of Van Nuys Blvd is a turd-smelling, boarded up old Montgomery Wards corpse.

185 "[women,] whose employed subset break 48-34 for the Democrats"

As noted previously, a big part of the reason that employed women support Democratic candidates is that a considerable percentage of those women are employed in jobs funded by Democratic policies. They know who butters their bread.

You will remember the "apparatchik" class which developed under Communist governments. This subset of working women are the apparat-chicks.

They work in public sector jobs or private sector jobs which draw public funding, and especially, overwhelmingly, work in public education, which is the most feminized by percentage of any sector of the economy.

Note also that this is why the Great Recession starting in 2008 hammered the shit out of working age males (and has continued to do so), but has largely spared working-age females.

Because the females were disproportionately in safe public sector jobs which were further insulated from economic pain by the Obama "stimulus" package. Hundreds of billions of which were specifically targeted to protecting the public sector -- and the women working in it -- from layoffs.

Posted by: Flatbush -------------- I guess marketing to gheys, as a strategy, didn't work out so well. *** They are slightly better than Sears in the marketing dept except that Sears sells Craftsman tools and Kenmore appliances. JCP doesn't have anything that's immediately recognizable as their brand. They are positioned neither in the high-end market nor the low-end market but have managed to make themselves incredibly uncool. This, despite the fact that they have a great home-goods department. They are trying, as is Sears, to be a jack of all trades and it just isn't working. For instance, I don't know a single woman of any sophistication that finds anything in their shoe or handbag department attractive. They need to find their niche and market the hell out of it. Sears, too. If they are going to sell clothing, then sell something above the bargain bin stuff that rips and tears upon the first laundering. Otherwise, get out of the clothing market. I can buy poorly made clothes at Walmart for less money.

Obviously the economy blows and that is a huge part of this but I wonder how much of this is because of Amazon and the like. You can get anything, and I do mean anything on Amazon, from dog food to vibrators. Picked up some filters for my water filtration system the other day, the alternative being driving about 10 miles to the nearest Home Depot. I did like 90% of my Christmas shopping without leaving my chair, just picked up a few things from some of the local shops that had local connection.

Never been a big fan of the smooth shaven thing.  Warriors have beards.  Combat effectiveness degradation due to beard = 0.

Badass look due to beard = 7.

The mask thing is a good point, but a 2 minute shave prior to deployment solves it.

Under that standard, every person with a cell phone can be hauled off because they are in possession of a potential recording device. Here's what I desperately want to know. How the actual hell were the MPAA, who was apparently onsite, able to get an ICE response to the theater so quickly that the guy could get dragged out of the movie? Also once ICE is involved, well now, all kinds of Fun With Illegal Detention begins. Presuming that the guy's story is accurate, and it sure as hell seems confirmed, the whole oh you are not being detained and it's voluntary but if you leave bad things will happen ploy was taken. That's how the Feds are going to get out of the civil rights suit. He wasn't detained thus it's not a detention. 302 I bought set of beautiful silk curtains for my living room last month at JCP online. They were originally $200 per panel, on sale for $60 per panel. I donÂ’t get the house decorating bug often but I needed new curtains for one room because the ones that were up were too short and ugly. Then I saw the silk ones and decided to buy them for the living room. The drapes had been up in here for 24 years. They are described as quarry blue but looked grayish in the package. They are a nice blueish gray and fit the room perfectly. I looked at JCP website Monday night when I looked at newly installed steel door in my back hall & saw that contractors did not hang curtains up. They have put all curtains back up. They are too short. I need 46 inch? but I do not believe they make that length. I ordered a pair from Country Curtains & made sure that they block the cold. The two places I look for drapes or curtains when I want them are either JCP or Kmart/Sears. Kmart/Sears are best for kitchen type curtains. Their website is awful. I hate trying to find something on Sears/KMart website. JCP has quality drapes at good prices and there was an extra 10% off the ones I ordered last month.

The County Commissioners allowed members of the public to comment at their meeting prior to vote. And the one white female whose voice made it on the evening news last night was spouting off completely fabricated figures (6.6 million) as if facts, no substantiation, no references. Just hogwash. Not only does the Saxon Gun Show have an impeccable reputation, guns sold there have not been used as murder weapons or in law enforcement criminal reports. Not surprisingly, no one in the meeting or in the newscast mentioned Fast and Furious, government intervention, Obama's administration redistributing weapons for mass destruction pouring into Mexico to kill American citizens, Border Patrol agents, and law enforcement personnel in both sides of The Border. It isn't as if Fast and Furious guns, sold by US federal agents in exchange for illegal drugs, have been retaken.

Assuming "homemaker" (and "retired") do not equal "unemployed", then the pro-Republican splits among the "unemployed" are nothing more than anomalous readings, as the "not in labor force, not a homemaker and not retired" males make up 4% of the survey and "not in labor force, not a homemaker and not retired" females make up 2% of the survey.  Not exactly a large sample size.

325 And the shit they sell has Park Avenue prices. And it's worthless. Haven't bought a thing from JCP or Sears in about 25 years. It's overpriced poop. My buddy started a business selling second-hand jeans. I think the most expensive pairs are around $13. Last I checked he had every major brand.

326 I know the woman who inspired the song "Amarillo by Morning". She's in her late 70s now, and is still quite beautiful. She broke up with the songwriter and it inspired him.

But was she the wife or the girlfriend that were lost along the way?

327 "Rule #1 when debating prog/commies: Never Use Logic. It won't work. They're immune to it." That's what makes me so sad that the Head Ewok supports abortion. It is a position completely devoid of logic, and it frustrates and saddens me to no end that he can't see it. Especially since he is so logical in almost all other ways.

328 We'll never be as good at Semantics as the Progressives ... So we shouldn't even bother. Posted by: ScoggDog at January 22, 2014 02:53 PM (f/s0F) I don't think that's correct. I came across reference of a former semantics professor, strong conservative former R-CA Senator of Japanese immigrant parents. Any failure to communicate integrity would more likely be attributed to the inferiority complex (we'll never be as good so why bother), or most likely, to the pussy cowardly complex, afraid of being politically incorrect, afraid of not being popular/accepted any more, because of truth. Or something. Likewise remember, a previous straw man argument a year ago was staged by leftists that they own the monopoly on humor. As if Mark Steyn doesn't possess a good sense of humor and tactical wit; or Dennis Miller can't tell a clever joke, or something.

329 Posted by: MWR, Proud Tea(rrorist) Party Assault Hobbit at January 22, 2014 02:54 PM (4df7R) I agree & I would not think of buying any clothes at either of the two. I need to see womenÂ’s clothes in person since they keep changing sizes. Years ago smallest size was 2, now they have double zero.

330 I'd like to see anti-abortion activists start using the term Pro-Children or Children's Rights more. Personalize it like the libs do with the War on Women or Women's Rights bullshit. Its a lot more attractive to be for something than against. I know thats exactly what they are but language matters and its a lot tougher for the left to demonize when you are Pro-Children.

Has anyone actually seen a theater screen recording? They're awful. The screen is dark, half the dialog is lost, and sometimes the recorder has to duck so you get black screen and even worse audio.

And to stem the tide of these awful recordings cutting their profits, they send the MPAA and ICE to interrogate people?

The world is a madhouse, data point # 1 7 , 2 8 6 , 1 9 8 , 0 2 5 , 6 1 0

The decent pre-release torrents are the R5s or Academy screener DVDs, both of which are produced on professional equipment by the movie industry themselves. Another is the ones produced off of the video out port in the projection booth.

The problem isn't the guy in the audience, it's folks within the movie industry doing side business in piracy.

333 many women are "employed" in social services and are beholden to Democrats for their jobs ... thus the 14 point spread ...
