— Ace No one believes these numbers, because Obama refuses to parse the numbers to determine how many people were already eligible for Medicaid, and how many became eligible due to Obamacare.
Even Politico raps Obama for deeming this basic question an "unreasonable" one which Obama's team refuses to offer answers to.
Two different groups have estimated the extent to which ObamaCare has expanded Medicaid to the uninsured. One is Acela, which estimates the figure at between 1.1 million and 1.8 million. Kessler also quotes Charles Gaba, who puts the number at 2.6 million. Both are far below Barack Obama’s claims, and also far below what the administration expected to see by this stage. The most motivated of all the uninsured should have been those eligible for Medicaid, and yet we haven’t seen a rush to enroll — and those who are motivated to do so probably already have. That means there won’t be a big spike coming in the next couple of months.
Omelets and eggs.
Meanwhile, Freddoso notes the "most brutal anti-Obamacare ad yet" running in Michigan.
The Administration and its supporters claim the ad is false. We'll see.
But in the meantime, the Democrats' candidate for the Michigan Senate, Gary Peters, is siccing lawyers on local tv stations to block them from airing the ad.

The lady in the ad has leukemia.
She liked her old plan...but it was canceled.
Her new plan costs her more in out-of-pocket costs, over what she was paying with her old plan.
Quite a bit more.
But her monthly premiums went down a bit on the new plan.
The Ad doesn't mention this.
This is what the Dems are saying is 'false'.

@45 It reads like a shitty undergrad essay. "Predator" is listed because, yeah, the monster is a vagina. Same with "Aliens."

If that was their primary qualification, then did they at least give an honorable mention to Return of the Jedi? I don't know which is worse - that the Sarlacc Monster in the original version looks like a vagina, or that the Special Edition version of the Sarlacc Monster has a giant penis sticking up out of it.

58...Specifically they're claiming when you add it all up, it's a wash.
That is her lower monthly costs cancel her huge OOP costs.
But frankly this is ludicrous, it assumes her subsidy estimates are accurate. If she should happen to make a few more dollars, she's hosed.
This would not be the case on the old insurance model.
---------
Right.
And it remains to be seen whether it's a 'wash' or not, as far as the annual total.
The out-of-pocket costs are an 'unknown' for her...and she doesn't know if she will have the money to pay them, if they get much higher.
Bottom Line is...she liked her old plan and she didn't get to keep it.
Since she has cancer, she could die if she doesn't come up with the cash to pay the out-of-pocket costs.

If a conservative white male Republican president had been discovered to be having it off with a young woman who worked in the White House -- a woman young enough to be his own daughter -- and then having pulled strings with the intent of getting her a different job elsewhere to buy her silence -- and then having perjured himself under oath about all of this in front of a federal grand jury -- consider what the reaction of the "feminist" wing of the professional left would have been.
They would have gone instantly and massively apeshit and demanded his immediate removal from office. Not merely impeachment, but impeachment plus ouster. And, probably, a further trial on charges of criminal sexual harassment. (Because white male privilege. Women faced with that particular doomsday device can't actually have given consent, not really, no matter what they say their intentions had been.)
Of course, when a white male who was a liberal Democrat and a trusted ally of said professional-left feministas did all of these things, they rushed to his defense and formed up in serried ranks to protect him.
Fen's Law sees all, knows all, explains all.

@81 We always kept our oldest son on our insurance plan even when he got SSI Medicaid. That meant that the Medicaid was processed as secondary insurance and they billed our primary insurance first. OF course, that's because we are responsible, tax paying citizens.

There is an algorithm which is used to determine Medicaid eligibility. That scheme looks at several different factors. Including the number of dependent children you have. Or that you CLAIM to have.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, there was already a massive epidemic of tax fraud by people claiming they had dependent children on hand who they really did not actually have, in order to bulk up their Earned Income Tax Credit payments. (The numbers on this are jaw-droppingly large and the number of convictions is minuscule.)
So, the essentially unpoliced wide-open window for defrauding the government via EITC turns into a tool for further defrauding of the government in terms of artificially qualifying for undeserved Medicaid support. And the greatest thing for the moocher class is that it's basically automatic! The one lie delivers them both sets of benefits.
Almost as though it had been set up that way by cynical manipulators intent on expanding the ranks of voters dependent on government largesse. But we know nothing like that could ever happen in God's Own America, and you are a racist paranoid nutjob if you even voice interest in the possibility of same.

In House of Cards S1, Kevin Spacey's char (spoilers?) is in the midst of a union strike over his education bill and has his minions monitoring the police scanners. When a kid gets shot during the day, he feeds the info to his pet journalist and they paint it as "the kid should have been in school, union is to blame." that and a few other threats and the unions leader folded like a cheap suit, education bill passes.
If the GOP had the stones to push the sob stories and the MSM was doing their bidding, Obamacare would long ago have been repealed. But they don't, so it won't, sigh.
