— Ace Ideological bias is last year's news.
Now it's more about simple partisan bias.
This sounds like CAP ejecting the left's anti-war ideological stance to help out a partisan figure they approve of.
Of course, this writer was read the riot act after White House officials called to complain about the piece.
Completely unrelated I'm sure, but Sharyl Attkisson's stories dropped by two thirds in terms of making it on to the CBS Evening News since shortly after Obama took office.
She was the 18th most aired reporter among all network reporters from 2008-2009... and then fell to 78th place.
Apparently her digging into political wrongdoing was appreciated up until Obama was sworn into office, and not so much thereafter.

Both parties are suddenly facing existential crises- the Dems face annihilation in November, and the GOP establishment seeks to destroy a powerful insurgency. A Tea Party insurgency that put the GOP in control of the House of Representatives in 2010.

Case in point, a piece criticizing people for claiming Detroit is in the shape its in because its run by black people; it tore that perception to bits. But teh racism!
They were just terrified of being accused of racism, even at a very conservative site that otherwise welcomed everything else I wrote.
So they must not allow criticism of the Halfrican American.

I tried to figure out what this feeling of amused pity was. I finally figured it out! " Lord of the Flies." That's what this is. This was to be their time to rule. The shot for the children to run the show. To make everything "fair". Like a game on a playground. And just like in the book, people are being hurt and offended - not allowed to play with the rest of the children.
I tried to figure out what this feeling of amused pity was.

Basically it is as if everyone (in the "press" and government) agreed that if we "really" needed to know about it, it will be published to excess as a matter of course. Conversely, if the establishment mandarins deem an event of no significance, you will be hard pressed to find a mention of it even on an obscure web site.

Precisely so.
Just as dissent was patriotic until noon Eastern Standard Time on January 20th, 2009. At which time dissent stopped being patriotic and started being TEH RAYCISS. To be vocally denounced by all decent upstanding citizens.
If, heaven forbid, a conservative Republican is elected President in 2016, then in January of 2017, dissent will suddenly stop being TEH RAYCISS and instead will promptly become patriotic once again, and a duty of all decent upstanding citizens.
Whitehead said that all of Western philosophy was ultimately just "footnotes to Plato". Similarly, all of these various instant 180-degree repositionings by the left as they move in and out of power are just footnotes to Fen's Law.

Have you seen the State Farm ad where a guy is talking quietly, in the dark, on the phone to his insurance rep. His wife comes into the room all fired up because she believes her husband is talking to a girlfriend. She demands to know who it is, and what she's wearing. When the insurance rep says, in a man's voice "Uh ... khakis", the wife rounds on her husband and says, "She sounds hideous".
Your comment reminds me of that ad. The wife is so convinced she knows the situation that confounding evidence doesn't lead her to rethink her assumptions.
We've all met lefties that don't just refuse to rethink their assumptions, they actually shut out any source of information that might challenge them to rethink anything they "know".

No. The progressive left and their foot soldier propagandists in the media are a bunch of authoritarian/totalitarian busy body fuck heads that are cheerfully attempting to oppress their political opponents and undermine the culture in order to bring about the revolutionary utopia. All giving them the benefit of the doubt or assuming that they are good if misguided people does is give them a place to hide their malice.

I am bemused by people who think the Republicans are going to crush Democrats in the election. Where have you been the last three years? Did you really forget 2012 when the GOP was going to sweep into Congress on a huge wave of anger at Obamacare and the economy? You forget how that turned out?
=====
You and I must've lived in alternative 2012s. In my 2012, the GOP nominated the governor who signed Romneycare into law. With a grinning Ted Kennedy standing behind him. Romney's opposition consistently out-polled him in the early primaries, but they also consistently split the anti-Romney votes between themselves. A consensus anti-Romney opponent never appeared and many, if not most states, have a winner-take-all with a plurality win, or apportion delegates based on a percentage of ballots cast for each candidate.
As for the 2012 election, well, we've hashed and re-hashed that debacle in a zillion earlier threads.
