Happy Caturday!

The recent discussions of Ronan Farrow, he the award-winning journalist, master of such pieces as this interview with Miley Cyrus, has brought another incident to mind. The fawning over Farrow, despite his lack of genuine accomplishment, is quite something to behold, with members of the leftist-elite, including no less than Hillary Clinton, fawning over him like fools. It is this desire to be associated with any semblance of Hollywood royalty that led some who should have known better to invite a complete stranger into their homes, offering both money and shelter in exchange for proximity.
Before Will Smith, there was David Hampton. In 1983, in a long-running con that would later inspire Smith's role in the 1993 film Six Degrees of Separation, Hampton inveigled his way into the lives of New York City's upper crust by pretending to be the neglected son of actor Sidney Poitier. Hampton would hang around the Columbia University campus, getting unsuspecting people to house him, give him money or otherwise help him. Hampton even once reportedly showed up at the home of actress Melanie Griffith, where he stayed up talking until 4 a.m. with actor Gary Sinise. Hampton would often go to restaurants and pretend that Poitier was meeting him just to get free meals and lavish attention, only to later act as if he had been stood up. But Hampton's undoing came when he was caught by Osborn Elliott, former Newsweek editor and dean of the Columbia School of Journalism, in Elliott's home in bed with another man. Elliott alerted authorities and the jig was up. No charges were pressed, but Hampton was forced to pay $4500 back to people whom he had swindled and stayed with.
Hampton continued to scam for the remainder of his short life and eventually died alone, of AIDS, at the age of 39. His greatest success having been to mock the “limousine liberals”, the white elites of New York City.
Slow clap, Ronan Farrow. Slow clap, indeed.

A few nights ago there was a fantastic link to a graphic which demonstrated the enormity of space. It was awe-inspiring and left me feeling utterly inconsequential. The Supreme Judicial Court on Wednesday overturned a lower court's ruling against Michael Robinson, 31, of Andover, who was arrested in August 2010 by Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) police for allegedly using his cellphone to take pictures up women's skirts. In an eight-page ruling, Justice Margot Botsford wrote that a female passenger wearing a skirt or dress is “not a person who is ‘partially nude,’” referring to so-called Peeping Tom laws protecting people from being photographed or recorded when nude or partially nude.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) released the results
of its 2016 presidential straw poll today. SCF conducted an online poll
for its members who could not attend the Conservative Political Action
Conference (CPAC) in Washington, DC today.
The top three vote winners were U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) with 42%,
U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) with 17%, and Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) with
10%. Over 41,000 ballots were cast nationwide.
“The results of the SCF presidential straw poll are unique because they
reflect the views of a large group of conservatives across the country,”
said SCF Executive Director Matt Hoskins. “Our poll shows that Ted Cruz is
currently the conservative favorite for president in 2016.”

If it crashed into the sea, they'll find bodies in a few days as they float up... like the Air France crash off the coast of Brazil. Very sad. I'd be very surprised if this wasn't a terror incident.

Women with long beautiful legs often have long feet to match. (Ectomorph build.) I have a friend with great legs that go up to her neck - she wears a size 10 shoe. She's always complaining about how tough it is to find cute shoes in her size. I'd gladly have that problem if I could have those legs.
Considering how tall most models are, I doubt if there's a big demand for size 5 shoes among supermodels.

There was a story going around that on the set of At Close Range, Penn unsuccessfully tried to get the set armorer to provide him with a loaded pistol to carry at all times so that he could stay in character. Method acting, y'know. Luckily, the armorer wasn't stupid.
I always wondered if Christopher Walken's infamously fanatical obsession with on-set firearms safety came from his experience working with Spicoli.

Seamos,
To friend Kenoh, now passed, I raise my glass in praise and respect.
I mourn with you, here. My heart weighs heavy, my eyes mist wet. Yet, I do not worry, I do not fear.
They await us, my friend. Sure as the sun rises, they await. They're part of our reward, given to us early, while here. We enjoy them now, in order to know a taste of the Glory that lies ahead.
Unconditional love, quietly shown to us in the form of four footed love, loyalty and unbridled joy.
Quiet toast, and a quiet tear, shed.
Let us be worthy. Let us be the giant that our cats and dogs think us to be.

I hate Daylight Savings Time!
Fuck you, LBJ....and fuck you Benjamin Franklin.
And fuck all the assholes in congress for voting for it.
It has come to be a symbol of government repression to me.
Fucking government having the fucking audacity to fuck with our clocks, for fucks sake!
And it doesn't Save a fucking thing!
.
Sorry. I just had to get that off my chest.

DST is proof that everyone has at least one stupid idea. Thnx Ben Franklin.
Due to some areas NOT going to DST until recently, there is now evidence in power usage records that DST actually causes waste of electricity.

So far as I am concerned, they can extend it to 12 months or dwindle it to zero and I could care less.....but they need to stop fiddling with it.
Fun fact -- overnight trains attempt to haul ass when they're losing an hour but still get screwed in the next day's "on-time delivery" stats.....but when they gain an hour they totally stop on the tracks and wait.

Made the mistake of watching 'The Purge' tonight.
It sucked.
I think it was intended to be some sort of 'anti-gun' movie, or some such shit.
But it is set in the future a few years...like 2017...but they refer to "The New Founding Fathers" and a "New America".
Where they have one day a year when murder and mayhem is legal.

But at the end of it, they were saying on the 'News' that the death toll during the Purge that year was worst in Dallas.

486...It's an absolute fetish. The left fantasize constantly about Fascist America. Remember that Mandatory Short Story from Jr High, "The Lottery?"
I don't remember having to read that, Mero.
But then, I made it out of public school before Carter created the Education Department.
I remember having to read stuff like Homer and James Joyce.
The left dream the same dream every day and pat themselves on the back every day for coming up with it.
Yeah...'The Purge' was full of that sort of leftist dogma.

The hate is because of how stupid and dishonest it is. How about a business states: "summer hours -- 8-5; winter hours -- 9-6"? Instead, we have to undergo a massive clusterfuck where clocks are reset, trains park, regions move from one time zone to another (Arizona), and people go to bed at one time and awake in another. What if you work 7-11 on the graveyard shift -- what stupid gyrations does your payroll program have to go through to credit you for the proper number of hours? And are you getting paid time-and-a-half for the extra hour you work in the spring?
It is fucking retarded for schedules to stay constant, while time changes rather than the opposite.

When I did shift work at a .gov facility we would get time and a half for the extra hour in the fall and credited for a full shift in the spring. But since it was .gov, YMMV.

It is absolutely dishonest. Time is one of the primary dimensions of reality and is key to just about everything in physics....whereas "business hours" and "school days" and "delivery times" and "service periods" are social constructs set by mutual understanding. And, yet, Daylight Wasting Time insists that we shift the very nature of reality itself to accommodate a biennial adjustment of preferences. I would have no argument whatsoever about "summer hours" or "winter hours".....but to claim they are the same but that Time itself is changed is just a lie.

Straw man, no such claims are made by anyone. DST is just marketing for summer hours. You should rail against the time zone as well as it is an artificial standardization of local times. I personally have bigger issues to deal w/than getting bent about DST
