— Ace I guess.
"I think we’re in for a tsunami-type election in 2014,” Priebus said.”My belief is, it’s going to be a very big win, especially at the U.S. Senate level, and we may add some seats in congressional races. But I need to and we need to at the RNC make sure that we can capture the positives and the benefits we’ve been able to provide in 2014 and build on that to have success in 2016, which is a very different type of election.”He was bullish on the Senate...
“I’m just guessing here, but I think among youth and women, we’re gonna see the greatest increase in 2014 because of, No. 1, Obamacare,” Priebus said. “It’s very, very, very personal among women losing your doctor, getting your insurance canceled.”
As he has argued before, he continued: “Then young people, Obamacare is intentionally designed to screw young people over. Actuaries sat down, decided, let’s just screw over everyone 35 and younger. That’s what they did.”
This is interesting: The Democrats' only strong candidate for Pennsylvania 6 has just abruptly bailed out of the race.
It really does seem like yesterday that the DCCC was blasting out memos touting Parrish as such a strong candidate and telling the media that he was the “only one the DCCC is talking to.”The DCCC even sent Nancy Pelosi up to Philadelphia to fundraise for Parrish.
Now it looks like the Florida-13 fallout has left Pelosi and the DCCC with a two-time double digit loser to challenge strong Republican candidate Ryan Costello in the PA-06 open seat.
The NRCC speculates that this is because of the FL-13 loss.
Incredible: Scott Walker just announced a billion dollar surplus and $500 million plus in tax relief.
So what's his Democratic opponent, Mary Burke, do?
Well, she wants you to know she's tough on government spending too, and is really interested in keeping the books balanced.
So she's got some cuts in mind: She wants to eliminate the income tax deduction for paying for private school for your kids.
See, that's just money flowing out of the government doors. Time to get tough on spending, unlike that Scott Walker.
"I think that these were new entitlement programs basically and we have to make tough budget decisions," Burke told reporters after an hourlong appearance at a luncheon sponsored by WisPolitics.Burke, a member of the Madison School Board, added, "We have to do budget decisions that are going to grow the economy, that are going to impact us positively, and I think those were two new expenditures, frankly, that did neither."
During the luncheon, Burke mentioned the two programs when asked to identify savings that could be made in the overall state budget.
See, she wants to make some "tough" decisions on the budget.
It's just that they happen to involve taking money from taxpayers in order to deliver it to government employees.

But there is that little matter of his recent conversion to the Democratic party.
In a telephone phone interview, Parris said he was "centrist, moderate independent" for most of his adult life, but spent years as a Republican in part because of a relationship he developed with Sen. John McCain while serving in Washington.
But he said, "The Republican Party has drifted farther and farther to the right, and no longer reflects my values." When I asked when he changed parties, he said he'd "mentally switched a few years ago," but that he'd only changed his registration in December.
He said he'd planned to run for the seat as a Democrat even before Gerlach announced his departure.

Margins, as I'm sure you know, don't mean squat at this point in the election cycle. What does count are the preference numbers. So:
Udall: 42% (PPP)
Shaheen 50 (ARG+Rass)
Braley 41 (Averaged number)
Franken 49.5 (Average number)
Hagan 44 (Average number)
Warner 56 (Roanoake College)
Numbers from RCP
Fifty percent or lower for an incumbent is big trouble.

“That’s the one thing that I think that is a narrative out there that I just think is blatantly uninformed, which is the fact that the Democrats have this great ground game. I think we’re going to crush the Democrats on the ground,” Mr. Priebus said. “I just don’t think they’ve got a very good ground game. I’ve looked through it, I’ve seen it. It’s all smoke and mirrors. It’s a lot of talk, but when you go around the neighborhood and you look at who’s getting absentee ballots in the municipal clerks’ offices and you figure out who’s hitting their goals, in our case, we’ve got a sophisticated program around our GOP universe and we check that every single morning with municipal clerks’ offices that are hooked up to our system. And I just know that we’re better than them on the ground, and I think that we’re going to crush them in Ohio.”
Ohio isn’t the only state Mr. Priebus is optimistic about. “We have other good things going for us right now as well: Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado, Nevada. There are other places that we’re doing very well in that, quite frankly, we didn’t win in ’08 but we’re doing better this year,” he said. “So, we’ll wait and see. We’ve got it all on the table. Ohio is, of course, extremely important. It’s nothing new, but I also see avenues to 270 opening up for Mitt Romney in places that weren’t there in ’08.”

Pelosi added that she has always fought for checks and balances on CIA activity and its interactions with Congress: “You don’t fight it without a price because they come after you and they don’t always tell the truth.
“Whatever else there is should be examined in terms of what happened and who let that happen,” she continued. “This may be one of the healthiest things we can do because I know one thing: Whatever it is, the intelligence community writes a report on that, they leave, they write a book on it, all of a sudden it becomes conventional … gossip that that’s what happened there and we really have to have the ground truth.”

They'll wipe out and fuck it up, then blame the totem, necessitating putting the tea party back where it originally came from, or at least that's what the guy with the uke will 'em anyhow.

Between guys, there are a few things one guy can do to another that absolutely demand a response, affronts that cannot be ignored or overlooked. One of them is hitting on another guy's girlfriend. Another is making a disparaging remark about another guy's mother. You get the idea: deeply personal insults or humiliations to which you must respond as a matter of personal honor or be deemed a cowardly, ineffectual twit, less than a man.

The 2010 mid-terms caught the Media off-guard. They, like everyone else in their circle, thought the Tea Party were a bunch of ignorant hicks who wouldn't amount to anything. They (and the Democrats) were the only groups to take the lessons of 2010 to heart. The GOP certainly didn't.
Flash forward to 2012 wherein Obama is re-elected in a terrible economy, with crushing debt, uncertain overseas situations, an unpopular health-care law, and four people dead in Bengazi. And Obama wins re-election. Because all those popular things were kept off the Media, and the GOP demonized the Tea Party.
I think the same thing will happen in 2014. The Dems will cruise to victory, because the GOP and the Media will continue to demonize the Tea Party, and the main Republican base will hear of how "Democrat loss is inevitable" and think they're not needed.
The Media is not as stupid as we'd like to believe, at least as far as keeping Democrats in power goes.

What about buttfucking? And the war on womyn?? He very well could have caused aids.

'Center-right'? That's an odd way of describing Putin's dictatorship, but then, that whole 'left/center/right' shorthanded means of categorizing the political spectrum breaks down once one starts talking about foreign governments and systems.

If the Republicans do take the Senate, they wonÂ’t have a lot of time to savor the victory, because two years later theyÂ’re going to be the ones defending more seats. That makes it entirely possible, maybe even likely, that Republicans will have control of both houses for only two years, and after 2016 weÂ’ll go back to the way things are now. So can they legislate during that time?

Regan generally governed by putting his people in place and letting them do their job. Elizabeth Dole was Sec of Transportation and she liked the double nickel. That alone was reason for her to lose in her bid for Presidential nomination.

We'll cave all the way, and then cave again and again and again despite our express and explicit promises to fight. All we need is a dam kickback and we're good. Has it occurred to either side that the world *has changed a bit* since 1980? The Soviet Empire, while Tsar Putin would like to reconstruct a capitalist version of it, was truly much more menacing. The Dinosaur Keynesian / Bretton Woods world economic model was coming apart. And the Commiecrats of that time were nuclear freezing, Sandinista fellating, and doubling down on the welfare state.
Yes, amnesty for illegals was an Uncle Ron mulligan. But immigration just wasn't the issue then it was now. Heck, cities like Los Angeles were still mostly native born white people back then.

Hey, where is that third party you have going?
While not thrilled (AT ALL) with the results in 2012, I also do not pee in my own breakfast cereal when it comes to voting against Dems. Yes, I voted for Romney after Perry fizzled out. On that note: you bet your baton I want McConnell replaced. Reice? I think he is ok, but whatever....not a hill to die on. Who is running against McConnell in KY primary? I have not looked. Good luck to him or her. We have plenty of talent to replace McConnel as, hopefully, Majority leader.
Instead of yodeling like a wet cat with a fire cracker up your squeek-hole, and pointing fingers at those you don't like...give us a solution other than sitting out in protest on our hands (as some did in 2008 and 2012 with spectacular results leading us to now). We now, thanks to people who would not vote for Sarah Palin or, a man who would have been a billion times better than who we have now, Gov Mitt Romney, well, sir, we now have a preznit the world mocks, a healthcare system that is garbage, growing unemployment but giving them benefits while our military shrinks. Oh, and invasion, right under our noses due to his ineptness, of the Ukraine and a missing 777 in the land of the stans.Open borders. Affirmative action is alive and well in his cabal run by Val Jar. That is all I can think of but I am sure there is more: like Fast and Furious and, uh, Benghazi. So, poothead, let's see your grand plan of how that sitting out thing is going to work. Or! Still waiting on your third party idea!!! How original and that is always a keeper months prior to an election. Keeping in mind, right now, I'd vote for anyone to force the Dems out of power. I consider myself a Realist Republican. If that makes me a "Rino" and, my goodness, find something new to call me, then pfft. I am a conservative Christian anti-abortion Redneck Republican WASP. Light my fire.
I like Mitt Romney. I have met him. That is enough for me. So, dear sir, bite moi. Oh, I'd also like to know how splitting the GOP and forming enemy lines on this very blog is so helpful? Sorry to ask so much of you when your piles are flared up! xoxo

I think it might be a nice idea if the establishment part of the GOP did not treat the Tea Party people as a more serious threat than Democrats, al Qaeda or Putin.
Something similar happened in Canada where the Conservative party wound up split into two parties and for more than a decade the Liberals ran roughshod over Canada doing things like establishing the kangaroo courts that persecuted Mark Steyn and passing their gun registration law. It was only after they reunited that conservatives won another election in Canada.

However...
As great as it would be to gain control of the Senate...Barky and the Dems would then blame everything that happens on the Republicans.
Just like Clinton did.
Except for balancing the budget and reforming welfare...Clinton took credit for those.
