Saturday Open Thread to Discuss What a Turd David Gregory Is [Y-not]
— Open Blogger

So, this happened:

Adrianne Haslet-Davis, who was injured in the Boston Marathon bombing and lost part of a leg, was scheduled to record a segment for NBCÂ’s Meet the Press, hosted by David Gregory.

Haslet-Davis says she requested that the names of the alleged bombers not be mentioned during the segment, but according to her tweets, a name was mentioned anyway and she became upset

Read the round up at Twitchy.

Gregory apologized via Twitter, but I'm not feeling inclined to forgive him because I a hater, that's why.

Also, open thread to discuss politics.

2 Yes, yes it is, Nip.

3 Not sure that makes sense to me.  Not mentioning the names?  I'd mention the names with a whole string of profanity and verbal abuse.

5 Why anyone goes on those Sunday talk shows 'll never know.  All it does is feed the liberal propaganda when they ask phony leading questions and edit the video.   Even the Fox show with Piss Wallace is a liberal propaganda show.

You guys do know that the reason there were no pics of his body is that every team member emptied a mag into him.  Like 300 rounds worth.

There just wasn't much left to photograph.

Osama Bin Meat Puppet.

Of course he did it for the ratings! He was hoping to gather a few extra viewers for his crappy show if he had on a sobbing, upset victim.

Posted by: Lady in Black at April 12, 2014 07:40 AM (tsGZY)

20 The poor, poor style guide. "Unindicted Felon David Gregory." Why unindicted? Because political connections, the incestuous relationship between government and its so-called watchdogs in the MFM (delenda est). It's like prison guards smuggling weapons to prisoners, almost literally in this case.

21 Her letter to NBC. I like the cut of her jib! http://www.adriannehaslet-davis.com/letter.html "I needn't apologize for leaving you this morning, as you made your decision. I am not one to ask for people to wait on me hand and foot, for people to bend over backwards and leave their own well being to take care of mine...this is not my character nor is it my intent. But I did specifically ask of two things for this interview, one being that his name (and you know to whom I refer to) not be mentioned in my presence. Your decision to back out on that promise you made and the horrific way you brought that decision to my attention just minutes prior to taping was not only a cowardice move but a dishonorable one as well...."

23 One could charitably note that in a news show talking about the bombings, it's not too surprising for the name to get inadvertently dropped at some point. Mistakes--sometimes hurtful ones--happen. But since NBC would never give me or people of my political stripe that courtesy, fuck 'em--why should they get the benefit of the doubt?

Posted by: Boomslang Joe at April 12, 2014 07:42 AM (HDgQ/)

24 Other than Mathews and Schulz. Gregory is the biggest douche in the "news" business. Good job asshole.

26 I remember the first time I saw Unindicted Felon David Gregory on TV (I don't watch much and I don't know some of the douchebags by sight for this reason). I didn't actually know who it was, but after about 30 seconds I asked myself, "who is that smug asshole?" I don't even remember what they were "covering," I just remember he was blurting some ahistorical nonsense as if it were The Most Obvious Thing In The World, and then cutting a guest off for a commercial break as they were responding. Pretty typical for the MFM.

We had a cold snap & rain squalls over a month ago- and I had to go out in it to get my tax papers to my CPA. Lucky me- I'm so poor I don't owe taxes and he emailed me I did not even need to file a return. Yea!

But that lit it off again. I'm sitting in the bed waiting for the widow down 2 houses from me- just gave her a key to the place- to get my mail and do a few things for me. Small stuff. I did manage to get sponged off and dressed OK. She's an old ER nurse so nothing I present to her should shock her. Husband was terminal so there's that, too.

My other widow-lady-- MaryAnn-- is still mired in her husband's sleazy dealings.

32 Meet The Press agreed to the girl's request prior to her coming to the studio. They lied to get her to the studio. Once they had her on site, just before air time they told her they couldn't go through with the agreement. They thought they could pressure her into putting up with it by springing it on her at the last minute. That's how craven they are. I wrote them an email stating I would never watch the show again. I haven't watched it in years, but it is true I won't watch it again.

95 Harry is going to show Barry how it's done. Barry wasted $527 million in taxpayer money on his Solyndra solar boondoggle, Reid is going for 10 times that amount. The federal govt subsidizes solar to the tune of $774 per kilowatt hour, IIRC. Nat. gas gets about $4 per hour in subsidy, IIRC. And solar still goes broke most of the time.

99 Ben Carson is about a million times better qualified to be president than the resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. But he is doctor, not a politician. I suspect he simply hasn't thought throuhg his 2A position for example, which makes absolutely no sense. That causes me concern because I imagine the impartial press will have no trouble making him appear to be an idiot. I think that with a bit of study and experience, he would make a fine president. P.S. Carson has a geographically based concept of the 2A and the BLM has a geographically based concept of the 1A.

175 Maybe we pull back some of the claymores, punji pits, barbed wire, and lure a few of them in to see what they're made of? Posted by: tangonine at April 12, 2014 01:56 PM (x3YFz) fnord (x3YFz) We have one, he's just never here. I don't honestly know if there's much room left for that kind of discussion. To be honest, "back in the day" it was already a waste of time. You would not be wrong to call the modern left "pathological," and discussion is almost impossible there. I think the only way to do it would be to establish up front that you have a common set of facts to deal with. I think you would never come to agreement on that. I don't think it was ever really possible, I just think there was a time it was possible for people to ignore it. Now it's on everyone's doorstep.

178 David Gregory is a known news whore, why would the poor girl trust him?  Maybe she agrees with the rest of what he does.  Do you think she has learned anything?

179 We have *tons* of difference of opinion. We just don't have the HuffPo/NYT reader POV. Because they have an unchallengeable set of assumptions about us they are not allowed to confront. I think *maybe* 1 or 2 of the dozen or so repeat "lefty trolls" we get actually believe any of it, it's mostly Average Idiot style shit-stirring.

eh... I'm willing to listen to anyone.  I'm so imperfect it's comical.  If someone can convince me, through logic, that I'm wrong?  Not a problem.

185 So fucking pissed off today.

I am a freelance writer. I incorporated as an LLC in 2012.  I just wrote checks to the state and federal government for 7,000.00.  That's not for the year - it's for the quarter.  When I worked full time and made more money, I paid less taxes - far less.

Today I argued with a Millennial - who really wants Jimmy Carter's grandson to become governor of my home state. His reasoning? To make medicinal marijuana legal. (No, he's not in need of it). Personally, I'd be okay with that. Yet I tried to argue with him that a Democrat never saw a tax raise he didn't love - and that far more people would be negatively affected by taxes raises. I tried to point at the red states like Georgia and Texas are growing, while big Blue States like New York and California are going to hell in a hand basket.

Didn't matter. Pot for everyone.

Today I learned to two things the hard way.  My respect for small business owners has skyrocketed. I don't know why anyone today would want to be in business for him or herself.  And the second thing - the Millennial generation may just be the dumbest in American history.  They don't care about the deficit, the economy.  They have no fucking understand that these things will destroy their chances for a better life. No, all they care about is gay marriage and pot.

Fucking bastards.

187 As my old drill sarge might have said, David Gregory is lower than whale shit on the bottom of the Marianas Trench. Well the old sarge didn't know the Marianas Trench from his left elbow, so he said "bottom of the ocean". But David lies there.
