Shifty, Dishonest, Low-Intelligence Hyperpartisan Says He's Tired of All the Lying and Dumb Partisanship
— Ace

Below the fold, thanks to @benk84, further evidence, as if you needed more, that the primary attraction of progressives for bent personality types is the psuedo-religious reassurance that they are saved in the eyes of the President.

This guy does not want for confidence -- he's arrogant and unperturbed as Greta exposes his various lies and deep hypocrisies. He must be pretty dumb to not realize he's getting his ass kicked from one side of the tv to the other.

And yet he's convinced of his superiority and righteousness, because, hey, he's anti-Fox and anti-Tea Party.

Some more dumb stuff:

So there's your Greatest Orator Since Cicero, once again stringing empty words together in sentences that have even less meaning than their component words.

But I'm told it all sounded better in the original Rigel-VII-ese.

(Rigel VII is the home planet of Simpsons aliens Kodos and Kang.)

Finally, via Hot Air but put together by the Kochmonsters at the Washington Free Beacon: all of Harry Reid's recent mentions of the Koch Brothers.

Make a sandwich and sit a spell. This is going to take a while.

More Dumb: Kathleen Sebelius reads her goodbye speech in the Rose Garden. She has to stop short when she realizes a page is missing.

Video for that under the fold, too.

Ms. Sebelius is leaving her job in the Administration to accept a position as Cyberica Magnae, Galactic Master of Ultra-Technology.

23 I love how when confronted with just the simple question of "How does Fox lie?", the absolute best that he can come up with is that one perspective wasn't emphasized ENOUGH in a previous segment. He admits that it was presented, just that it wasn't presented enough. I mean seriously, if you're going on to FoxNews to talk about how bad FoxNews is, you go on with at the absolute minimum a series of anecdotes or same little examples. Hell, he doesn't even bring up "There are no death panels." I really hope he wins his nomination.

"'Mankind.'     That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today    (and yesterday, and tomorrow!)    we celebrate our Independence Day!"

It's not what he said - anyone with even the thinnest understanding of history - which of course leaves out most of the recently-degreed - would agree that it took Europe hundreds of years to get back to where Rome had been in so many respects, and that the Arab world's never gotten back to where it was between Mohamed and Saladin. It's how he said it. The phrasing was dumbed-down Common Core twitterese. It was not the language of an experienced statesman.

141 "What about Bush always saying 'nuke-u-ler,' huh?"

One of the Horde posted an item a while back about someone having met privately with Bush in retirement and having been surprised when Bush crisply pronounced "nuclear" per the book.

The use of "nucular" seems to have been a deliberate affectation on Bush's part. One that he dropped when no longer in the public eye.

Unfortunately, it was an affectation that played right into liberals' ongoing script about Republicans being barely literate cretins who aren't intellectually equipped to run the country. See also: Sarah Palin's "folksy" diction.

This stuff gets traction with people who aren't die-hard liberals, whether we like it or not.

Of course, conservatives could fire back with "corpse man" and the "Austrian language" and "57 states" as indicia of abject ignorance, but typically do not, because they're afraid they'll be called TEH RAYCISS. Whereas liberals labor under no such limitation in their attacks.

202 So, also on the "History" beat:

Over at National Journal (I know, I know, but at least it's not the Federalist Meatball) there's an article about a bunch of downcast former LBJ aides.

You see, these elderly LBJ minions and their dead boss worked very very hard, for years, to create a new cultural and political and legal climate in America.

A climate in which a malignant pathological narcissist, with no real understanding or accomplishments to his credit, could be elected President by lying out his ass and playing the race card endlessly.

And then, after just such an individual did get elected, and then re-elected as President (doing better than LBJ, by the way) guess what?

Tell me if you didn't see _this_ shocking plot twist coming. The malignant pathological narcissist REFUSES TO GIVE ANYONE ELSE ANY CREDIT for his rise to power. Including the moldering LBJ crew who are feebly squeaking and beeping about the fact that they and their dead boss made it all possible, and are being callously ignored.

It's a Dr. Frankenstein moment. "But we _created_ you!"

Yet the monster has no love for them. Not even a glimmer of recognition.

And now they have a sad from it.

So, so sad.

Cooke pointed out, this is awfully hard to square with their other stupid catchphrase about being on the "wrong side of history". Posted by: Andy at April 11, 2014 01:28 PM (2OaXr) ----------------------- Well, yes, Cooke is right if you think logically --- or "linearly" as Marx would say. But what Obama is saying is a commonplace in neo-Marxism. A classical Marxist would say that history moves inexorably toward communism. The Science!!! is settled. So anyone who opposes the march of socialism is on "the wrong side of history." Once Marxists climb down from their ivory towers and start being active "midwives to history," however, they find that there are often setbacks (going backward) or distracting complications (going sideways.) These TEMPORARY glitches are caused, not by reality, but by reactionaries, i.e., us. Obama is simply exhorting his neo-Marxist followers to work harder to destroy the counter-revolutionaries who are delaying communism. It sounds silly, but only to someone who is not heavily drenched in Marxese.

259 History (from Greek ἱστορία, historia, meaning "inquiry, knowledge acquired by investigation") is the study of the past, specifically how it relates to humans.  It is an umbrella term that relates to past events as well as the discovery, collection, organization, and presentation of information about these events. The term includes cosmic, geologic, and organic history, but is often generically implied to mean human history. Scholars who write about history are called historians. Events occurring prior to written record are considered prehistory.

270 Time is the universe's way of keeping everything from happening at once. This is a kindness, as we can't experience everything at once, or we would be confused and have to lie down for a rest. Which we couldn't do, because we wouldn't have time. Now, this may be cause or effect, this is uncertain. If we can't do everything at once *because* there's time, well, that explains that. But if there's time because we can't do everything at once, well, as I said above, that's quite a kindness. It would seem to imply the universe is on our side. 287 I know states have begun using little used laws that have been on the books for ages to go after the children of elderly nursing home patients whose medicaid coverage is questioned. They are called Filial laws and obviously, Congress and the Feds have decided to start using them. They started using them regarding Medicaid during the Bush administration. http://tinyurl.com/m55mx6w Posted by: Jen at April 11, 2014 01:57 PM (Mt+Yq) In addition to Filial Laws, I've seen nursing homes require children to sign agreements that they will be financially responsible for their parents' care in addition to Medicaid coverage. 289 From the News Dump this morning...
Les Misérables on the Potomac

A few weeks ago, with no notice, the U.S. government intercepted Mary Grice’s tax refunds from both the IRS and the state of Maryland. Grice had no idea that Uncle Sam had seized her money until some days later, when she got a letter saying that her refund had gone to satisfy an old debt to the government — a very old debt.

When Grice was 4, back in 1960, her father died, leaving her mother with five children to raise. Until the kids turned 18, Sadie Grice got survivor benefits from Social Security to help feed and clothe them.

Now, Social Security claims it overpaid someone in the Grice family — it’s not sure who — in 1977. After 37 years of silence, four years after Sadie Grice died, the government is coming after her daughter. Why the feds chose to take Mary’s money, rather than her surviving siblings’, is a mystery.

Across the nation, hundreds of thousands of taxpayers who are expecting refunds this month are instead getting letters like the one Grice got, informing them that because of a debt they never knew about — often a debt incurred by their parents — the government has confiscated their check.

... somebody at Treasury forgot that there is a provision in the Constitution (Article 1, Section 9, Clause 3), that old thing, that prohibits "ex post facto" laws.

No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.

350 How perfect that Sebelius' page is missing. That cracked me up. She should have "fallen" and gotten a Hillary "concussion" prior to October's 404 Odisastercare.

I am in a really bad mood about illegal immigration. Ready to talk to ole Jebby about the love being sent via gangs with pipelines to Mexico. Per Washington Times, these gangs, extensions of cartels, could be messed with if only(!) they were referred to as "narcoterrorists." But, nooooo! They are love, says Jeb (knowing full well over 50% are Hispanic and most are illegal, born to illegals who maybe arrived to work hard and spawned this due to breaking law). My reason for discontent is the little four year old who died in the daycare in Orlando, from the hit and run repeat drug-selling felon, Robert Corchado. He turned his sorry ass in yesterday, mostly due to a reward by FHP, electronic billboards featuring his mug shot, and, perhaps, his "buddies" in the Latin Kings gang who were also going to be tied to this crime. (They have still not found the black Mazda he rented after his hit and run). Today the possible illegal Corchado was denied $100,000 bail as a flight risk (at which he shook his head violently, as the witness for his flight risk is a FHP trooper). He had his Miranda Rights read.

While it may turn out this piece of flotsam is legal, and I guess it does not matter as a child is dead no matter who killed her, I am suspicious based on his previous drug arrest and hit and run where he had fake SS card and other fake ID. Cartels, which are connected to some gangs like Latin Kings (which are also big in prisons...I have learned a lot about gangs this week) are very sophisticated in forging these documents. The lad was caught in December with baggies of: cocaine (which he had been imprisoned for 3 yrs for and released in 2012), heroin, pot and Molly. Plus he had almost $7K on his person (don't you all carry $1K wrapped in rubber bands around?).

I wanna know when/if the media will ever find out if he is illegal. I am ready to raise some hell about it. I have already, due to the gang and Mexician cartel pipeline bidness, but IF he is illegal, Katie bar the door, as Miz Christy is ready and willing to raise some hell.

370 It has been said that O'Care has some regs in it about going after offspring and even siblings for anyone who dies in a nursing home and leaves a balance.

This is just the tip (of whatever is the most awful you can think of).

This should remind everyone once again that they can't take your refunds if you don't have any. It's possible that  they can administratively take what they have possession of without due process. I do not believe they can take civil steps to seize property and assets without due process.

Lesson is; don't leave any money where they have control over it.

Arrange your taxes so that you always owe a bit. Don't think you're being wise by letting them take too much with holding.

Yes, I know some people can't do this but most can protect themselves and arrange to always have to pay. The trick is to keep the money safe so you don't get caught short when the time comes to pay.

This will become more important as O'Care starts to fine/tax/penalize those without insurance.

Time to start acting like the citizens of every other country and actively try to cheat or at least fudge a bit on your taxes.

371 That may be illegal. I believe Medicaid provider agreements generally require the provider to accept Medicaid as payment in full, except for patient responsibility portions. Posted by: Insomniac at April 11, 2014 02:10 PM (DrWcr) There's the wriggle room right there. It's also the provider attempting to recover for sundries that aren't covered by Medicaid. As far as attempting some way to get out of it, the best way to get out of it is to tell the facility that there is no way you are signing anything in your personal capacity. Here's the rub. The facility does not necessarily have to give your parent the bed if you won't sign off on being personally responsible. Look, I don't blame the providers for trying to get paid. We all want to get paid. I do blame them for you must sign this document or your parent will be out on the street and don't worry we would never try to take your house when the provider knows damn well that it will get a judgment and then collect and part of that collection process will be going after the house.

Hell, had I not gone through that billing dispute with my wife's PT, I'd be a lot less able to read a bill and realize "wait, contractually they *can't* charge for that." Things like ice packs (which insurance contractually considers part of the "visit" cost so it's not passed on to me.)
