Some Questions for Lois Lerner
— Ace

Catching up late to this story. Althouse introduces an excerpted transcript of Issa on the Chris Wallace show.

The Fox News moderator, Chris Wallace, quoted the report by the Republicans on Issa's committee, which said that Lerner "was keenly aware of acute political pressure to crack down on conservative-leaning organizations." Who put this pressure on Lerner?

ISSA: That's one of our questions. She says things like they put pressure. So e-mails indicate that there was pressure. We don't know whether it was the president shaking his fingers at the House, the Senate, and the Supreme Court over Citizens United or whether it was...

WALLACE: During the State of the Union Address?

ISSA: During the State of the Union, where she felt the pressure. Only she can tell us where she thought that pressure was.

WALLACE: The report also cites a newly discovered e-mail from September 16th, 2010, in which Lerner discusses how to check whether groups seeking tax exempt status are engaged in improper political activity. This is an e-mail to other people in the IRS. And she says, quote, "We need to have a plan. We need to be caution so it isn't a per se political project." What do you think that e-mail shouts?

47 Just a continuation of the clown show.   Anybody who can't see these people are getting away with pretty much anything and everything aren't looking very hard.

Today's OR quiz reveals Taco Bill and Cankles are the richest living Presidential couple.   These are the people the lib's hold out as their hero's and want to continue their legacy.   Personally, I think Taco Bill has already stained much more than a blue dress.   I shudder to think of how large of a stain Cankles and her potential crew would/will leave behind?

Half our party believes we need to continue to work with these people?   I miss my country.   The further it slips,   the more I worry it will never be able to come back.

52 Here's another reason why O'Reilly's a gas bag.  Some years ago had a "legalize marijuana?" episode and his opposition was former Dallas Cowboys center Mark Stepnoski.  Of course, O'Reilly abused him and Stepnoski was obviously not the most silver-tongued advocate for marijuana -- but the guy played *center* in the NFL for 12 years.  He most likely has some form of brain damage (even if mild) from going head-to-head with 300+ pounders and then the drugs he was legally prescribed for injuries certainly didn't help.  If O'Reilly had had his show while Carl Sagan was alive, you can damn well believe he wouldn't have brought him on to debate.  No sirree Bill.  What a turd.

Ah, speaking of Hillary, there was this recent gem, about the carefully orchestrated internal staff effort to make a woman of absolutely inhuman ambition appear to the public as human and approachable.

Particularly amusing is the advice from aides about how Hillary had to "be careful to be real". Genuinely real people, of course, do not require such reminders.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Department tells us the auction, which was scheduled to go down tomorrow ... has been canceled because William Castleberry -- the owner of the 8mm film -- settled his $200,000 debt. Castleberrry owed the $200k for a previous court judgement against him -- and deputies had seiezed the film, along with several other items, to cover the debt. Castleberry's attorneys tell us they have no idea who made the payment -- all they know is Casteleberry's stuff will be returned ... and the world will have to wait to see Marilyn's alleged threesome with the Kennedy bros. Meaning that if you walk into your room after 10 hours in the sun at Disney and want to jack the ac way up to cool down, the system shuts down and won't do anything. 190 My prepping is centering around bug-out. There is no shelter in place anywhere less than 50 miles from a major population center. There is no long-term defense possible unless: 1) you build a bunker for those supplies. or 2) You fortify a neighborhood. #1 is cost prohibitive, and can't be done in a nosy suburb #2 is impossible in an area where people can't even be bothered to turn off their fucking phones when walking down a busy sidewalk.

191 The default setting is 71 degrees. Meaning that if you walk into your room after 10 hours in the sun at Disney and want to jack the ac way up to cool down, the system shuts down and won't do anything. You have to set it at 71 and then every so often you can lower the temp, but only by 2 degrees at a time. Lower? Damn. I rarely turn my A/C down below 74. It's way too cold. It's all about removing the humidity. If you have to go down to 71, probably don't have enough return. When I come back in after weed-wacking my lakeshore in 98 degrees and 90 some odd percent, it feels like I jumped into a cold shower. It's fucking wonderful.....

192 Re Fl Hurricanes;

I live in Ocala, about 60 miles from either coast, the year of the 4 hurricanes we had 2 of them roll over us a few weeks apart. There was a lot of howling wind and rain and a few tornadoes popped up in the county but it really wasn't that bad.
The worst storm I have ever been through here was the great March of '93 storm that came roaring out of the gulf. It was like the worst thunderstorm ever turned up to 11, along with the wind and rain the lightning was popping everywhere. It spawned tornadoes all over the place that ripped up a couple of trailer parks and several motels.

It was apocalyptic shit I tell ya.

200 I haven't read Ringo's latest prep-survival series except for the first free-bee sample. I intend to, though, because it's just too much fun to imagine being the crazy prepper who turns out to be right. The prepping thing hits genetic hard-wiring, I think. You're not weird for finding that appealing because saving up stuff so you live through the next crisis is why your genes exist in the world at all. The problem is in recognizing that you've become the Crazy Cat Lady instead of a person with a few more cats than others have.

Something like this would work. Posted by: The Hickster at March 03, 2014 10:18 PM (TI3xG) I have long pointed out the fact that gathering Representatives and Senators in Washington DC was a reasonable thing to do in the past, but now the technology exists to allow them to STAY IN THEIR DISTRICTS and do the people's business. I can't think of a downside to making Congressmen and Senators remain in the communities they theoretically serve. It sure makes dirty dealings a lot harder doncha know?

284 After Fast & Furious, Issa exposed an international gun running operation against an allied Nation launched for pure domestic political manipulation to undermine the basic document the United States was founded on. Literally hundreds of people were murdered and the body count is still rising, The Secretary of State was involved as was the Attorney General and the Justice department as well as the White House itself. People got promoted in the ATF and FBI while whistleblowers were threatened and charged and Issa moved on to uncover and right more wrongs and try for more airtime on Fox. Meanwhile I'm buying Wolf ammo before the next Executive Order stops imports.

yeah I always pick Nord. The bow in morrowind was kinda lame, and there wasn't a real abundance of arrows.I always just used the baddest fucking sword I could get. I think in morrowind it was the daedric dai-katana, until I found a better one in the tribunal expansion. I think in oblivion I eventually had that freaky armorer chick in the shivering isles making me weapons, and switched over to the bow occasionally. It wasn't until skyrim I went all out with the bow since they gave you the ability to make arrows and some wicked bows. The bows in skyrim are like having an M-14, you can nail running targets like 100 yards out. Nothing better than roasting a falmer in sneak mode from way out.
