For any Identity category that more than two people associate themselves with, the left has a Grievance Workshop explaining why people should be angry at other people for all their failings.

You say, "Why 'Fat Justice'? Hasn't this gotten a little absurd?"

But like the Son of Sam, I say: "What took you so long, Fat Justice Identity Grievance Movement?"

A Â“Fat Justice and FeminismÂ” seminar sponsored by Swarthmore College blamed Ronald Reagan for the suffering of fat people and accused the Body mass index (BMI) of having Â“direct links to a white supremacist.Â”
The workshop, taught by feminist activist Cora Segal and self-identified Â“angry, man-hating lesbian,Â” Nicole Sullivan, took place Thursday and sought to Â“address the ongoing exploitation and oppression of fat people.Â”
Â“There is no scientific consensus whatsoever that fat people need to exercise more, or that fat is unhealthy. There is no evidence that [being] fat causes diabetes. Medical professionals are informed of this so-called knowledge by lobbying groups.Â”
The Swarthmore Independent reports that Segal and Sullivan took aim at a variety of subjects including President Ronald Reagan, who they claimed Â“f*cked everything upÂ” for fat peopleÂ—though the Independent drily reports that Â“[n]o specific evidence about ReaganÂ’s perverse policies or animosity toward obese people was offered.Â”

Paige Willey, an attendee to the conference, told Campus Reform "the whole event had a negative tone to it."

You don't say.

The guy they claim is a "white supremacist" is Adolphe Quetelet, who was an astronomer and sociologist who lived from 1796 to 1874, and created the BMI after recording the heights and weights of a lot of people. I don't see any mention of his "racist white supremacism" but he was French, and he was named Adolphe, so...

48 I don't being fat necessarily causes diabetes. I think genetics and eating sugar (which is in everything) and carbs like bread and pasta and cake do. I know a number of thin people to people of moderate weight who have developed diabetes, Theresa is correct. Nicole Sullivan and Cora Segal, two Boston-based feminist organizers, will lead a workshop on fat justice, which is a political stance that seeks to address the ongoing exploitation and oppression of fat people. From the war on obesity to the rise of deadly bariatric surgery, there is an unprecedented attack on fat bodies. This workshop seeks to map out the focal points of this oppression, while delving into the complex history of white supremacy and misogyny that created it. We will set forth an analysis and call to action to make fat justice a priority in women's movements.

Funded by the Women's Resource Center, Dean Henry, History Department, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Interpretation Theory, and Worth Health Center*.

The Swarthmore WRC is a nonpartisan, dry, safe space for women-identifying people** on campus.

Yup, a glance at his Wikipedia page reveals that he was a co-founder of the Positivist school of criminology, an important intellectual precursor to Eugenic criminology. In fairness to him, though, the leap from biological criminal theory to race theory didn't happen until after the rediscovery of Mendelian inheritance, which in turn didn't happen until after Quetelet's death. Early guys like Quetelet are mostly responsible just for setting the stage for eugenics, replacing Christian notions of free will and grace with "scientific" biological determinism. (Add race and stir for Holocaust).
