Selfless Crusader Against Income Inequality to Heroically Accept $225,000 Per Year from State-Funded Organization to Occasionally Give a Few Quotes About the Scourge of Income Inequality

$225,000 would be quite a rate of pay for a part-time job.

But this isn't even a part-time job. Former Enron shill Paul Krugman is now taking another "big money call" to promote the City University of New York's Luxembourg Income Study Center.

$225,000 for nine months of work.

What will Krugman to do to earn his $25,000 per month? Almost nothing at all. He's expected to "play a modest role in our public eventsÂ” and Â“contribute to the build-upÂ” to the school's new Â“inequality initiative.Â”

I assume "playing a modest role in our public events" is similar to Paris Hilton's modest role in public nightclub openings -- show up, eat a few shrimp hors de oevures, chin-chin a champagne fluter or two, go home for the night, watch 30 Rock reruns at 1:00 am.

He is not required to teach students or interact with them at all. He will be expected to appear at one (1) seminar at year's end.

Krugman wrote back: Â“I admit that I had to read it several times to be clear ... itÂ’s remarkably generous.Â”

Indeed. Remarkably "generous."

Or is it "generous"? Generosity is what comes out of your own wallet. But this cash bonanza doesn't come out of the pockets of the CUNY officials making this "generous" offer, of course; it comes out of students' hides.

Despite being lavishly subsidized by the state, CUNY has been escalating student tuitions from $4800 in 2011 to $6330 by 2015.

Â“I just canÂ’t afford that amount. ThatÂ’s the reason why I came here was because I can afford it. I heard itÂ’s a credible school. And now itÂ’s going up. IÂ’m thinking of finding another school to go to,Â” Davis told CBS 2's Hazel Sanchez.

Perhaps Krugman, the $25,000 Per Month Not-Even-Part-Time Man, can invite Mr. Sanchez to his single annual seminar and explain to him the evils of income inequality.

My previous favorite was hearing about a guy laid off from his construction job.

The original Obama "stimulus" package was originally meant to spend more money on infrastructure, to get guys like this back on the job, but wimmenz groups got antsy about the idea of all that cash going to "burly men", and so the bulk of the spending was redirected to soft social causes.

But the stimulus did pay for him to retrain for a "green job" installing solar panels. Except so many people were also trained for that job relative to the actual demand that he couldn't get hired. Saturated market. A waste of his time and of the money the feds borrowed to train him.

So then the feds paid to retrain him yet again. As an Obamacare "navigator".

Once the went to open enrollment and did away with standards CUNY effectively became high school part 2 for most enrollees undergraduates as remidial classes became the norm for freshmen students. Then again, there are a LOT of things that Congress COULD do, all of which would require them to actually look up from the trough once in a while.

For what it's worth, the CHEAPEST ive seen for converting a vehicle to natural gas is ~ $1,200.00 You can get conversion kits off of E-bay for around $500.00 and a new fuel tank (not included in the conversion kit) runs around $700.00 for around a ten gallon tank new. Of course you can buy used or expired tanks (yes, the tanks have a do not use after this date label on them) for @ $200.00. I will note the E-Bay kits are not EPA certified, so I wouldn't try this anywhere where you need to get inspected for this. (Such as in Kalifornia.) EPA certified conversions cost around $12,000.00 or so, but i've been noticing the prices are dropping somewhat for the last few years. I will also note that in my state you are supposed to be certified to install CNG equipment on a vehicle. As of yet, I have not yet obtained this certification (mostly about NFPA 52 Gaseous fuel systems) but I intend to do so, but as of yet I have done no installations in vehicles. I managed to buy an excellent Bauer CNG compressor for an incredibly reasonable price.($1,400.00.) I paid $20,000.00 for my (Used) Ingersoll-Rand Bowgen compressor system and storage. That is the one I'm currently using, but it is my intent to set up several others in surrounding communities. I currently own four CNG compressors, but the other two are small units, only fit for a single user. The Bauer and the Ingersoll Rand are high quality commercial units. You can use a scuba compressor for this purpose, and indeed, one wealthy man who gets his own fuel from his own wells tells me that he uses an old "Davy" military surplus scuba compressor to pump up his tanks. That's all I can mention at the moment. Gotta go.
