— Gang of Gaming Morons! This thread is for anything and everything.
That being said, was wondering if anyone else wet shaved? I've always been a once a week shaver with a crap disposable and foam out of a can (and hated it) but this past Christmas, I was given a Edwin Jager DE89, a jar of Proraso White, 100 pack of Astra Blades and a cheap badger brush and bowl. Have to say that I'm quite liking the experience and has become a daily ritual for me so far. Plus saving some cash doesn't hurt either.
Just curious on if there were more on here doing it.

I recently bought a razor and blades from Harrys.com
You can get a starter kit with a handle, 3 cartidges and a tube of shaving cream for $15.00. If you order replacement cartridges 16 at a time they are about $1.50 ea with free shipping. They also will set you up with auto refills if you want.
I am pretty happy with them so far. Link in nic

I'm mildly encouraged by what I've read about the meeting Boehner had with the GOP caucus. It appears he, Ryan, and the rest of the amnestias got their asses handed to them and are "considering other options".

But then again, Mrs IA's beautician waxed a small spot on my back, justto give me an idea of what it felt like.
Give me the razor.
In the shower.

I apply a small amount on my face and neck in the shower after I have scrubbed my face, and shave at the sink once my shower is done. Or, you can wash your face, apply the conditioner, and wait about 2 minutes before shaving.
I recommend you to try it, regardless of the razor you utilize.

When we were stationed in Italy, I would walk down to the little one chair barber down the street from our house for a haircut.
And just to indulge myself, I would occasionally get the full straight razor shave from him.
After a half hour of warm water, facial massage, shaving and what-not, I felt like I was in heaven.

That's because they're not a barber shop. Its just Great Clips with a bit of a sports bar atmosphere over the top. And possibly an emphasis on more attractive stylists.

First they made them go to disposable razors with rubber gloves. That killed the customers desire for it and then they issued regulations for disposal of the razors similar to what hospitals have to do with sharps.
So it just became too expensive for something that was no longer popular.
Your State may vary.

Years ago when I worked in a microelectronics plant, they were introducing face masks for the men with facial hair, to reduce particulant contamination. One of the old guys there had been wearing a mustache for over 30 years (his wife had never seen him without it) and went home at lunch and shaved off his mustache. Then they found the masks actually had worse particle contaminant than facial hair, and got rid of them the next day.
His wife almost didn't recognize him after he shaved off the 'stache. Needless to say, he grew it right back.

Food production.
And yeah facial hair and face masks don't mix either. I've gone through refinery training and even though you aren't wearing one while going around the plant they have pretty strict standards on the allowed facial hair because if there is an incident that requires you to put a face mask/breather on you can't have your facial hair get in the way of the seal.

Agreed. They've been Obama fellators from the get go to boot.
Anyway, I shave maybe twice a week with disposables--each of which last me approximately a month as I dry them thoroughly post use. In order to reduce razor-burn, I use Edge Ultra Sensitive gel and, for aftershave, I apply hydrocortisone cream. I've got wussy skin--especially on my neck. I'll even get razor-burn from electrics as I've got to make so many passes due to the wildly varied hair growth directions.

There seems to be a trend to going back to double-edged safety razors- I got one each for the first and second floors. Via Amazon, natch. They do give a nice shave- but you have to be careful not to nick yourself.

The problem with normal hot water is that it doesn't get hot enough. I heat a coffee cup full of water in the microwave for 2.5 min. I soak my saving brush in the water while I am taking a shower. Then use the brush and soap to lather up with afterwards. You have to be careful because the water is very hot but it is a better shave and nice.

Now, Pelosi was surprised by this because ( I think) she was surprised Jon Stewart brought it up. And she was surprised because no one in the regular media would bring this up. And no one in the regular media brings this up because they are going through that revolving door.
Quite a subversive thing he did there.

Ace had an advertiser a ways back...The Art of Shaving ... something or other. They had straight and safety razors. I bought some stuff. The pre shave oil and a sandalwood shaving cream are the best. I will reorder when they run out.

Thanks for that, Vic. When I get hot water at the top of the heater cycle, I get pretty close to the perfect shave. After what I go through for my coffee, it looks like microwaving my shaving soap water is just one more thing to do
For those interested in shaving with soap and brush, skip the boar bristle brushes. Not worth the time and smell. Save your pennies if you have to, because the badger brushes are better by an order of magnitude, even the cheap ones.

I was bitching about shaving my legs one day and he chirps up and offered his services with all his gear and that scary looking razor. I declined.
My equivalent is to get the occasional hour long facial - but I find those to be rather hit or miss depending on the products they use.
