Newsweek Stun: Bush Up By 6; at 50% Point
— Ace

Via RedState, a new Newsweek poll puts Bush up 50-44 among likelies.

Say it with me: John Kerry couldn't get elected warden in monkey-prison with a wheelbarrow full of bananas and a lenient policy on flingin' feces.

Still waiting for that much-vaunted "strong closer" quality of his.

This guy closes about as strong as the Miami Dolphins.

Why Do NRO Dorks Have to Steal My Schtick?
— Ace

John J. Miller writes a mash note to E. Gary Gygax, inventor of Dungeons & Dragons.

Well, I guess now I know which of the NRO dorks got my D&D Guide to the Democratic Presidential Candidates linked when I started this dumb-ass dorkblog.

Football Fans For Truth Puts Up Second Billboard
— Ace

Wisconsin is in play, and they loves them some Packers. They can't be happy about Kerry's "Lambert Field" flub.

Unbelievable: Mark Halperin Distorts to Help Kerry
— Ace

You remember him, right? He's the guy who thinks ABCNews should give Kerry a pass on his distortions, while holding Bush strictly to account.

Well, it seems he's a past-master at distorting himself. He takes a quote of Arnold Schwarzenegger's, in which Arnold criticizes both candidates but hits Kerry more sharply, and turns it into a pro-Kerry quote by Dowdification.

You will not believe this. You. Will. Not. Believe This.

Thanks to Physics Geek, who also links Michael Moore's hard-hitting "documentary" on the so-called "Fellowship" of the Ring.

Fellowship? Hah! A phony fellowship, a fellowship of the bribed and coerced.

Bush to Stump In New Jersey
— Ace

It's a race there after all:

Campaigning in South Jersey gives Bush what his aides call a "double hit" - rallying the Republican faithful there and getting free television exposure in adjacent Pennsylvania, considered one of the swing states that could decide the election.

Kerry allies in New Jersey professed to be unconcerned about the late spike of state activity in the White House's favor. They said Bush and Cheney were trying to bluff Kerry into making what they said would be an unnecessary trip to the state and possibly spending campaign money there.

Bluff? I don't know. Latest Quinnippiac poll has Kerry up 49-46. Not exactly stomping Bush.

Ministry of Silly Links
— Ace

I haven't done one of these for a while. As usual, all of this stuff was stolen from The Perfect World.

Proof that the moon landings were faked. As if we need more proof. Duh.

"Telephone." A random game I don't really get, but it's a little creepy.

Name that Beard! Pretty funny.

Cute girl singing badly, and then it gets funny.

Bizarre Japanese Ice-Cream flavors. Real chunks of horseflesh? Mmmm.

Alan Keyes is a fucking lunatic, but he can sort of sing.

Kind of fun for five minutes. Hit the right arrow key repeatedly to accelerate and the spacebar to slam on the brakes.

This seems to be a compilation of wannabe-rock-bands' photos, gathered from the Internet. The site is called "Rock n Roll Douchebags." How could I not link it?

Bush Up By Four Points According to... Zogby?!
— Ace

48-44. Inside the MoE, of course.

Still-- Zogby?

I would link the blog from which I picked up this gem, but, alas, the blog in question defends transparent plays for the homophobic vote and thus conscience compels me to shun him.

Update! Okay, so I don't know how to read a simple chart. It's FOUR points, not two. Thanks to Cynical Nation and the appropriately named "duh" for pointing that out to me.

Iraq Round-Up; "The Perfect Speech"

I don't see where Michele's individual links are, so I'll just direct you her site, and suggest you scan down to "Wrong Answer, Moonbat!" for a round-up of the latest action in Iraq, and then to "The Perfect Speech" -- a fantasy about GWB telling the world, basically, to "suck it."

What's the Big Deal With Saying That Kerry & Edwards Might Occasionally Have a Little "Guy-Fun" Together?
— Ace

Since Andrew Sullivan just doesn't get the "cynical interpretation" of Kedwards dropping the l-bomb in two different debates, I'm sure he's equally fine with this video.

And, am I dreaming, or didn't Sullivan just approvingly quote an email (An "Email of the Day," most likely) saying that Bush's strategy was essentially to call Kerry a "fag"? I'm 99% sure I just read that. And yet, now a search of his past five or six weeks reveals no hits for "fag."

He didn't row that back, did he?

Sullivan should probably not click on this link.

BTW, last two links from The Perfect World.
