NRO Spat On Immigration
— Ace

And Jeff Goldstein weighs in.

I think Goldstein has it about right. Mark Krikorian expresses a general discomfort with all large scale immigrations at this point in our anti-assimiliation history, egal or illegal, and John Podheretz (again) accuses him of arguing in bad faith, as well as attacking many conservatives as nativist and dishonest in their rhetoric.

As Goldstein notes, Podhertz and many of of the Amnestias have a bad habit of adopting the left's language, rhetoric, and stance of moral cleanliness whenever confronting someone who disagrees with them.

To tell the truth, sometimes I lapse into this too. There's a reason the left employs the tactics they do -- they're easy, cheap, emotionally bullying and effective. "Nativist" is just another way to say "racist," after all.

Doctor Feelgood Contest Winners
— LauraW.

Original thread here, about a dentist who used a somewhat implausible explanation for massaging his patients' breasts.

It says 'Top Ten,' but there's more than ten and they're listed whimsically, roughly in order of ascending filth.

Side note: I said the words "uterus can go under crab rangoon" out loud to myself while arranging the post. That's happened many times since I became a co-blogger here, but this is the first time it actually meant something.

la'Affaire Rebecca Aguilar poll
— Purple Avenger

By now everyone is aware some twit reporter ambushed a 70 year old guy who waxed a couple of perps who tried to rob his place of business (which doubles as his residence) and she has been suspended for her egregious behavior and obvious biased questioning. A commenter Mekan at CY suggested a poll to see what is the most despised profession in America today...so here it is. I added another choice for armed robbers and arsonists to Mekan's list...they needed some love too. Naturally I disabled all the multiple vote protections, cuz that's so much more fun, so you can hit those buttons like a lab ferret whacking a pedal on the crack dispenser and the votes should count.

Your title
What profession is the most despised in America?
70 Year Old Store Owner
News Reporter
Lawyer
Politician
Armed robbers and arsonists

The early exit polling results are in and its looking like armed robbers and arsonists aren't despised as much as politicians. I kinda thought it might work out that way...

The rest is still up in the air. Apparently some anti-capitalist commies (or perhaps WalMart executives) have voted for the 70 year old shopkeepers, but not so many they can't be dealt with.

Chinatown busboys love Hillary!
— Purple Avenger

To the tune of $1,000 and $2,000 donations. Naturally some of the "donors" are on their way back to the PRC have taken a powder and can't be found.

I don't know about you, but the largest political contribution I've ever made was a whopping $20 and that was to Larry Craig so I could send him out trolling "researching" in the finest restrooms in America to get "the pulse of the people"...or something.

That the LA Times is on this now is telling. Its a story they could have easily buried. The real story here is why has the LAT decided to start taking shots at the nominal democrat front runner? Obama and Silky are obviously DOA in the general, so Hillary! is the only real hope the democrats have in November.

Remember, I'm a "reality based" left hander according to Gabriel's rotating babe pic, so these conclusions are scientific.

The End of the World
— Gabriel Malor

It's Friday (according to the blog's clock), so how about an amusing video. Here is my absolute favorite flash evar. An oldie, but a goodie.

It's better over at Albino Black Sheep, but I wanted to get it on here, so:

My college friends still text me random quotes from this. Surprisingly, the "le tired" complaint was fairly common at my old firm.
