Apropos the previous post re: women bloggers (you know, the serious kind as opposed to whatever other kinds of women bloggers there are) and my first open blog post at AoSHQ regarding creepy dates, I will now become all sorts of serious:

In a world of equal rights and feminine liberation, if Obama has Obama Girls, where's Hillary's Men? Is there some sort of underlying discrimination going on here? Isn't it true that women with power become more attractive the same as men? Or, does that just scare the piss out of men?

Hillary with her finger on the big red button: Turn On? Or, total bed wetting fear?

And, you know, she has been completely screwed over by the men in her life. If there is a woman to be feared, it's a "woman scorned" and, oh boy, does Hillary have that market cornered.

In fact, men should be asking themselves whether Hillary as elected president or Hillary losing the presidency is more scary.

I mean, either way, Ace could end up dead in a park.

Think about that when you go to vote.

Update: And, in the middle of all this angst about under-represented women in places we think they ought to be, where are our feminista sisters empowering the women of Islam? You know, with the current death rates sky rocketing for Islamic males in certain areas, women out number the men by 5%. Why aren't we all up in that sh*t stirring it like a hot steaming pile of burning Beauchamp?

I know, I know...strawman. But, seriously, where are our seminars and such that remind our Muslim sisters that Mohammed was a beggar at Kadijah's table. She owned the businesses. She owned the property. Mohammed didn't even get everything at her demise.

Which, if you think about it, is a much stronger motivation to commit murder.

Perhaps there aren't enough women bloggers because they all have jobs in the notoriously female-dominated MSM? (Just kidding, of course: The MSM is sissy but it's very patriarchal, especially at upper levels. When Ellen Goodman isn't whining about female underrepresentation in the blogosphere, I'm guessing she's whining about underrepresentation in all the senior positions at the Boston Globlosphere, where she works.)

Ed Driscoll notes this is hardy perennial in the MSM; Captain Ed notes political blogging is a dorkwad hobby, similar to Dungeons & Dragons, so why should one even care about a skew in interest in the thing at all?

Baldilocks offers up a list of prominent female bloggers for Ellen Goodman's edification, including recognition of our very own LauraW.

Although, in fairness, it's not clear if LauraW. is a political blogger so much as cute-cat blogger.

At least she's not a tampon blogger, and for that much thanks.

I expect this worth-reading bit over at TNR's plank will be the basic media play on the Ames straw poll: that Huckabee sort of won even though he actually placed. There's some truth in that, of course, and Huckabee deserves his props and all, but it seems to me that Romney sort of deserves some mention for, you know, actually winning and all. Surely there's a story there, right?

The MSM will mention that-- begrudgingly. I don't think there's much question that of the top tier of GOP candidates, Romney is the most loathed by liberals. The other three have something in their pasts to make them less repulsive to liberals (McCain: seems to hate conservatives; Giuliani: lived with a couple of gay dudes for a while; Thompson: enjoyed a colorful and far-ranging sex life, as I'm sure we'll soon find out), whereas squeaky-clean too-handsome Romney is not only one of the more socially conservative candidates but, worse yet, he's an apostate from the One True Church of Liberalism, whose pews he occasionally sat in when running for office in archliberal Massachusetts.

Hugh Hewitt (of course a bit Romney supporter) reminds us that Romney did in fact win, and with the same percentage of votes that Bush did, and by a somewhat greater margin than Bush beat Forbes. True, Giuliani and McCain didn't compete, but that's because they didn't think they could win and so dropped out so as to deflate Romney's victory. Which seems successful -- but hey, if they could have won, they would have.

Of course it's not just liberals who find Huckabee's surprise-second the big story out of Ames. Hewitt's own site features as its first post on the outcome a post titled "Huckabee!" (by Patrick Ruffini), so Hewitt and Barnett have their work cut out for them.

Romney won, but everyone expected he would win. So the talk is naturally about the unexpected second-placer.

Still, expected or not, Romney won. Which is still a story, and shouldn't be forgotten. Even if the MSM likes to talk more about Huckabee, as they (correctly) don't see him as a threat to actually win the nomination or a general election. (How the MSM loves to champion Republicans who can't win!)

That said, the bigger story is that none of this really matters.

The say that you can't recreate something when it's already dead. Last night's thread was one of the best. You can't get crazier than Guns, Feminine Products, Dead Raccoons on the side of the road and, finally, after every crazy thing that was said, degenerating into a little commenter scuffle. 700 comments later.

No one wants to be like those lame re-makes of TV programs like the Brady Bunch Re-Union after you find out the dad was gay and possibly hitting it with Greg who was hitting it with Mrs. Brady.

But everyone wants to be the Next Big Thing at Ace of Spades. The one that hits it out of the ball park. The one that can break the comment bank.

Probably not going to happen this evening. Seems like the regulars have "comment hangover" after last night. Still, like Ron Paul supporters trying to stack the online polls to make him look electable, we keep trying.

Politics are starting to get boring and redundant between little out takes from the most recent debate. Nothing hot there. How many times can you make fun of Scott Thomas "Killer" Beauchamp?
