Nicely done - the Israeli raid on Syrian nuke stuff
— Purple Avenger

The Times Online is claiming the Israelis hit a site with some tasty DPRK nuclear materials. Its no secret Assad Lite and the DPRK have been tossing each other salad for a while now. With the DPRK supposedly shutting down, and being largely very weaselly shits, its not surprising that they might be looking to "double dip" here -- sell off a good chunk of stuff then claim it "got lost" or was "destroyed" before the inspectors had a chance to see that happen. After all, the DPRK and Syria are major sources of counterfeit US currency in the world today, so its not like black bag deals screwing over the US and UN are beyond them ethically. Syria looks like the big loser here (what's new?) cuz you can be sure the DPRK got paid up front for the goodies. Cash strapped as they are, they ain't gonna be taking no checks from the dentist.

That the Syrians are closed lipped and not flooding the zone with "oh poor innocent us" footage and pics of stuffed animals from the site speaks volumes about what got hit. They know there are plenty of experts out there that can tell what is and what isn't from a pile of apparent rubble and scrap iron.

Football Picks, Get Your Football Picks In
— DrewM.

Just a reminder that if you are in one of the many Ace Of Spades oriented football pools, you need to get your picks in before kickoff of the early games (12:55pm Eastern).

My guess is all the morons who are at Acepalooza will have forgotten to make their's or will make them while hungover so this could be a good opportunity to gain some ground or create separation (as your case may be).

Keyes Joins Race for Presidency
— Gabriel Malor

You heard it here first (I bet): Alan Keyes, former diplomat, serial campaigner, is seeking the Republican nomination for president.

Keyes made his announcement on some radio program I'd never heard of (Janet Parshall). He'll be joining the JV Republican candidates--Brownback, Huckabee, Hunter, Paul, Tancredo and John Cox--in a Florida debate on Monday night.

Keyes is fairly described as being a strong social conservative (so you can cross him off my list). He's outspoken about his pro-life beliefs and equally outspoken about his opposition to homosexuality. His favorite television show, according to Wikipedia, is Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. So I guess he has that going for him (it was the best Star Trek).

He's probably going to have to do more explaining of why he said in 2004 that the descendants of black slaves should not have to pay federal income tax. But I do like his other name for income taxes: "insidious tax slavery."

The real question in all of this: who the hell is John Cox?

Aussie Navy pays for cosmetic breast implants
— Purple Avenger

The Aussie Navy is paying up to $10K for cosmetic breast implants -- justifying it because it will help with the women's "psychological issues".

So will male sailors be able to get penis implants to help with their "psychological issues"? Or get implants for their significant other because the lack of bustiness is causing them "psychological issues"?

Lightning Bolt, the Movie
— Open Blog

I don't know what's more pathetic, the activities described in this article, or the review's admiration of its principals:

The LARP-ers of "Darkon" show real courage by opening their hearts and exposing their deepest dreams to potential ridicule. As one young man says, "I hope that the game gives me the confidence to one day maybe, you know, go up and start talking to ... a girl."
I think Bart said something like that before he bailed on showing up to Moroncon.

Maybe more LARPing could help? more...

Morons on Parade
— Open Blog

So, whether due to our fearless leader's cluelessness or lefty black ops, Acepalooza almost collapsed before it began. However, we're all now successfully drunk and posting like the losers we are, so if you have any comments for us, post away.

(This means you, Jack M.)

Interesting Speculation From See-Dub on Norman Hsu's Shady Money
— Ace

Very, very clever. Basic idea: The PRC actually did make good on Hsu's promises of cheaply made and highly profitable clothing, precisely so Norman Hsu could get the money needed to donate like a cyclone to Hillary! Clinton.

In other words, they laundered the PRC's money through Hsu, deliberately taking a major loss in order to pad Hsu's pockets with money by which to influence American elections.

Funny how the PRC is always putting money into the DNC, and how the DNC is all too happy to play the "dupe" in permitting this persistent practice.

Olbermann: Why Did John Edwards Buy An MSNBC Ad, He Wouldn't Have Gotten A "Hard Time" From This Network In An Appearance
— Ace

In other words, he would have been permitted to make all the exact same points he made in an advertisement in an MSNBC appearance without fear of any challenge whatsoever.

It's nice to see it admitted. See, "Faux Noise" is the only media outlet with a political sympathy for one party or the other. All the rest are centrist.
