Fort Dix Five: Guilty
— Slublog

Breaking now:

CAMDEN, N.J. - A federal jury on Monday found five Muslim immigrants guilty of conspiring to kill U.S. soldiers at Fort Dix.

The five foreign-born defendants were charged with conspiring to kill military personnel and attempted murder. The men were acquitted on the attempted murder charges. They all face life in prison.

Looks like the 'Psyche! We were just kidding around about that whole jihad thing' defense didn't work for them.

Desperate MSM financial times call for desperate MSM expense management. including quick-response reporting tools like the Jihadi Death Form-Article for U.S. Missile Attacks in Pakistan.

Obama's transition team is supposed to hand over their investigation report over contacts with Blagojevich. Expect it to be incomplete and underwhelming.

The Fort Dix Six Five jury is expected to announce a verdict some time today. Background here. Thanks to Dave in Texas.

In case they don't get blogged, here's a space to discuss.

Timewaster, Vacay Edition

I'm out for the rest of the day, so here's something (OLD!, I know) to amuse yourself with. Click on the horses to make them sing. Funny how something so simple can keep my attention for a good thirty minutes. At least.

White House Continues to Pound the NY Times for So-Called "Reporting"
— Gabriel Malor

No link, but a White House spokesman just suggested to FOXNews that the White House recognizes that the NY Times has fallen on hard times and may not have the resources to do original reporting! Paraphrasing: "I don't know if the Times' junk bond rating is causing a lack of reporting or whether their lack of reporting has caused their junk bond rating." Heh.

Could have used some of that snark during the past eight years, no?

What's this all about? Catch up here. In short, the NY Times ran a shoddily-sourced hit piece in Sunday's paper that blamed the entirety of the financial crisis on the President and his "free market" principles. It also managed to completely ignore the Democrat-led CRA, blames the Frannie/Freddie meltdown on the President's unwillingness to "compromise" on regulation (read: bend over and take it from Barney Frank), and suggests that the President was paid off by the bankers to let them alone.

The White House struck back yesterday in a statement from Press Secretary Dana Perino.

Darth Cheney Not Sorry He Told Leahy To F*** Himself [Nice Deb]
— Open Blog

Chris Wallace asked Dick Cheney about it on Fox News Sunday, this morning.

If you remember, Cheney had reportedly told Senator Leahy to "Go F*** himself" in 2004, after Leahy had publicly questioned his integrity, and then tried to act all pallsy wallsy with him in person.

Cheney has no regrets:

Overnight Comments (genghis)
— Open Blog

Because some are getting frisky in the posts below and want to talk politics, sports, shoe fetishes, the weather, leather fetishes, blowing shit up, the recent dearth of Thai tranny hookers, Laws of the Sea, “Aliens”, epic poetry, “The Warriors”, humps, kittens, football (not the Euro kind…mention that and deletions will follow. Rugby’s fine to discuss though), ‘80s hair metal bands, macrame, or whatever else strays into your addled minds.

This is your place to take a comment dump.

Meanwhile, across much of the nation, snowflakes of doom are bringing white death from above. I just spent the last 2 hours shoveling and sweeping 12” of global warming off of my front steps and truck.

”We Will Bury You”

Horrible ‘80’s hair-metal band videos may be added below the fold later since I’ve had a “Skid Row” tune stuck in my head for the last 3 days and it’s driving me insane. Might as well spread the misery.

Update: Ok, Enuff Z'nuff. You people asked for it with all your commenty-type comments. Your doom is below the fold.

Update #2: Musical pallette cleansers now added. Something to soothe you into nitey-niteness and fill your dreams with pleasantness.

Slap Happy Monkey [dri]
— Open Blog

I don't claim to understand why this monkey likes to constantly slap his female owner in the face. Maybe she trained him to do it or maybe she simply doesn't listen. In any event, the video below shows this monkey slapping his owner over and over. Funny? possibly. Disturbing? definitely.
The action begins at 1:05 of the video.

112 People Have Something to be Thankful For this Christmas
— Dave in Texas

In Denver, a commuter jet headed for Houston doesn't quite get airborne. (those wing thingys fooled me)

Glad they all made it out, even hurt, injuries notwithstanding. These kinds of things can be so much worse.

I'd call it a Christmas miracle, an aborted take-off crash. But that might be a bit melodramatic, so I'll just say thank God and leave it at that.
