— Ace This al-Sadr is a military genius. It's like he's just toying with us!
The senior-most Iraqi general in charge of the security operation in Basrah has issued an ultimatum for wanted Mahdi Army leaders and fighters to surrender in the next 24 hours as the Iraqi and US military ignore Muqtada al Sadr's threat to conduct a third uprising. US troops killed 15 Mahdi Army fighters in Baghdad yesterday and have killed 56 fighters since Sadr issued his threat last weekend. In Basrah, General Mohan al Freiji, the chief of the Basrah Operational Commander and leader of the security operation in the province, has given issued warrants "for 81 people, including senior leaders of the Mahdi militia, and they have 24 hours to give up," The Associated Press reported.
Iraqi troops continue to clear Basrah, although the fighting has been sparse since security forces cleared the Mahdi Army-controlled Hayaniyah neighborhood in Basrah last weekend....
Iraqi and US forces have not stopped its operations against The Mahdi Army in Baghdad and the South despite Sadr's threat to conduct a third uprising. US forces in Baghdad alone have reported 56 "criminals" killed since Sadr issued his warning. The US military refers to the Mahdi Army as criminals in an effort to marginalize and delegitimize the group.
Twenty-seven Mahdi Army fighters were killed during clashes in Sadr City and Baghdad on April 20. US troops killed five Mahdi Army fighters in Sadr City and another seven fighters in New Baghdad on April 21. US soldiers killed another fifteen Mahdi Army fighters inside Sadr City on April 22.
He's like Rocky, man. He's not letting Clubber Lang just rain crunching punch after crunching punch on him. He's getting mad.
Thanks to CJ.

— Ace Dude, when the Nazis stormed across Europe, this guy wasn't even born yet.
If it works for Barack Obama and his terrorist friends, why shouldn't it work for this guy?

In case any lefties are confused, the above is sarcasm. He's a cocksucker who should be booted from the GOP immediately and not given a single vote.
But the ironic point I made stands: Why is it, precisely, speaking at a Nazi group is considered verboten (and properly so), but Baby Barack Obama is not to be criticized nor even asked about his associations with murderous left-wing terrorists?

— Ace Ho-hum. Another shocker.
Not satisfied with disputing Jesus' divine paternity, the book also predictably champions Judas Iscariot. Wow, I didn't see that one coming.
Via The Corner, which notes this isn't even a novel idea. It was done in Life of Brian. Sort of.
Major Correction: Allah points out that this isn't a movie. It's a book. So all that stuff I wrote five minutes ago about investors in the "movie"? Nevermind.
Okay, New Point Then: Since my first point was, um, inapplicable -- my job is writin' shit, not readin' shit -- let's try this one.
Why does the left keep offering these sorts of works? Because they feel Christianity is dangerous, oppressive, and causes all sorts of social ills, predominant among them, a belief in Christ, but other pathologies as well (conservatism, patriotism, skepticism of the UN and socialism, etc.).
So they keep attempting to undermine Christianity in the belief that if they can just stop people from bitterly clinging to Christ, they'll then stop bitterly clinging to, say, their paychecks, and will be willing to sign them over to the benevolent OmniState.
Such political pathologies are the symptoms; Christianity is the disease.
Note that a much more persuasive case can be made along those lines regarding oppressive, aggressive, anti-modern political Islam -- but no one in Paul Verhoeven's social circles is willing to undermine any of the foundational myths of Islam, now are they?

— Ace Hillary had black faces prominently behind her (well, one or two at least): Obama had nothing but white dudes.
Not just any white dudes, either. White dudes strangely wearing Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirts. Like a product placement.
Abercrombie & Fitch, of course, has been rapped for its very sexual ad campaigns, mostly targeting high-schoolers with lots of money either from their family or their Ecstasy dealing. Here's one of their latest, a mostly nude advertisement for... clothing.
Abercrombie & Fitch has been repeatedly rapped for inappropriate ad materials. I suppose this stuff would be just fine if they were targeting adults, but they're, like, you know, not.
What exactly is Obama's deal with Abercrombie & Fitch? How the hell did that kind of NASCAR corporate-logo festoonery suddenly become acceptable in a presidential candidacy?
And why this particular corporation, pandering to callow young morons with hypersexualized imagery?
What, was Benetton too "on the nose" for his liking?
Having allied himself with the economic hard left, the racial hard left, and the blame-America-first hard left, and the terrorist-sympathizing hard left, is he now also declaring his solidarity with the sexual hard left as well?
Correction: I erroneously first wrote that the ad noted here was somehow connected to A&F. It's not, it's Dolce & Gabbana.

— Ace A handy guide if you, like me, have wrongly called referred to FALN as FARC recently.
Thanks so, so much to Andrew Sullivan for pointing it out to me. Thanks, Andi!

— Ace Shirley you can't be serious.
Ahhh... Europeans. So... how you say? Sophisticatique. Or something.
The long-term Dutch unemployed are being forced into “regression therapy” in the hope that coming to terms with past lives will help them find a job.Use of the New Age technique has sparked controversy after an unemployed woman in Maastricht was sent on a 10-week course at a cost of £720.
Other unco-operative welfare claimants have been told they will lose benefits unless they accept the guidance of a regression therapist to help them get in touch with their past lives....
Klaas Boffcher, at the Dutch Ruach Boraka Centre for Complementary Therapy, uses the technique to help “people find experiences from past identities that could be negatively affecting them today”.

“Reincarnation therapy is regression to a previous life. People’s complaints and problems have causes not just in the present but also in previous lives.”
